Saying that Pakistan was ahead of other nations, yes the growth rate of pakistan was higher than india till 80s, but it was slower than many other nations, for context, in 1960s, India was 10th poorest nation by gdp per capita and pakistan 11th poorest, china 9th poorest.. in 1980 pakistan become 20th poorest, india and china had same ranks.. till 2005, pakistan topped to 30th poorest rank.. but then started going down.. pakistan is 30th poorest nation today and India is 58th even with its sheer scale of population.. india always had more poverty than pakistan from the independance.. and till 90s, due to lack of investments and no economic support, this poverty kept increasing.. Real growth of India started after 2000.. where poverty is massively reduced and per capita income is rising and fdi is above roofs..
