This show is amazing. Outside of the weaker season 3, season 4 is crushing it. And consequently making season 3 better in retrospect. Kinda like how Infinity War/Endgame made AoU better.

Just like how after revenge of the sith, the prequels aren’t seen as bad because of the sum of all parts. With AoU, a lot of moments from That movie are elevated because we know where it ultimately leads.
One thing I have to credit YJ for is they were a lot smarter and creative with the animation budget. the previous season they tried to treat as normal and they cut corner where they could leading to a lot of uncomfortable awkward animated scenes, like space battles where people would fly in place unmoving. They were smart this season to use flashbacks as a narrative device, and in those flashback have stilted or no animation, instead voiceover and stills, like a digital web comic. Almost every episode has had one, some episodes dominated by flashbacks, but the lack of animation passes relatively unnoticed cause of the consistency. They also are using a similar trick from 1960s animation here, where they have a dialog heavy scene but keep most of the animation on facial expressions and neck movements, throwing in limited arm movements before it got to jarring. But if you watch closely this 2 minute clip is kept fairly limited but still accomplishes a lot in the story
I totally understand what there doing as I seen anime do similar things in the past, but I won't lie and say it got annoying when I know it's just a exposition dump. My favorite moment though recently is Orion calling out the new genesis meeting when they go in tangent discussions about Superboy, Kypton, Forger love life, Killorog suit pooping...So pretty much anything but the meeting itself. I love him in that moment.

But in the meantime savage and darkseid can double cross zodd since earth and apokolips have weapons that can harm kryptonians or take control of them darkseid could end up with a small army of krptonians or just kill them with a krpytonite gas bomb if need be
