Marvel's Spirit of Vengeance has a much more complicated history than we realize. The first mention of the name Ghost Rider were in western movies from the 1930s. And it was as a western hero that the first version of the Ghost Rider came to the comics. It's most famous, motorcycle-riding, skull-flaming version debuted in Marvel in the 1970s, and have enjoyed highs and lows in popularity as in story quality ever since. These are the essential Ghost Rider comics.

OK how the hell did you know that I was thinking about ghost rider? Seriously I was just looking up MVC3 Ghost Rider clips a few days ago! And watching the Robbie Reyes version on agents of shield! 🤯🤯🤯

I’m so sad that the Brisson run got cut short . It seems like he had some big plans for the book , for Mephisto, Blackheart and Lilith. That would have been cool to see.

I love Ghost Rider. He's one of my favorite characters in Marvel Comics. I love the essential stories that you listed. Cosmic Ghost Rider is a great reading recommendation too.
Whether it's Johnny Blaze, Danny Ketch, or Robbie Reyes, I'll read all of the Ghost Rider comics.

I’m confused, does Marvel have an ACTUAL Satan ? I know that Satan here was retconned into being Mephisto, but what about Hellstrom’s dad? Wasn’t it supposed to be the actual biblical Satan? I quite liked those Danny Ketch Scarecrow stories. I like Ketch better than Blaze. Did you see the Nick Cage movies? I read that they were terrible.

Oh man Ghost Rider is a character I could never enjoy. I have hope only in Jason Aaron run and the 90's run.
I hope Ewing writes for it one day. Most likely it will undermine excellent new concepts and give the story a real threat to the Ghost Rider to face.
