Controversial opinion: Bee Swarm Simulator is a solid simulator and doesn’t fall under the genre of slop simulators.
It does have the gacha mechanic but it doesn’t affect the gameplay that much.
And on top of that the gameplay is very versatile and it is more than just using bees to collect pollen, there’s combat and tower defense (kinda).
Overall i think that Bee Swarm Simulator is the best simulator of today.

@@ThisIsAHandle-xz5yo Have you not seen the player counts on those games though? thousands to tens of THOUSANDS, and underrated games with so much effort put into it like say, Project Stardust, has only a couple hundred players at most, and only tens of players.
Even if it's not popular, it's absolutely attractive to gullible youngins because of how addictive these games are.

This is a good video and all, but I will NOT accept the Bee Swarm Slander. The game came out before Pet Simulator (you acknowledged this in text on the screen for less than a second) and isn't anything like the game? All the paid things are either mostly inconsequential buffs or seasonal packs which very rarely have anything exclusive save the 800 robux exclusive bee which yes, is very overpowered, but it's 800 robux. $10 US. There is some gacha system what with buying eggs, but these eggs can easily be obtained in mere hours and eggs aren't even the primary system of getting good bees anyway. It DOES get monotonous... after about a month of total active playtime... but still. It's FAR more complex than a clicker game, you can't pay to have more bee slots, it caps at 50 for everyone, you can barely pay to progress faster with the 2x convert and bee pollen passes, but those don't really give much of an advantage after a little while. The game is nothing like pet simulator, and- oh wait, I forgot to mention the game has actual progression! Yes, you unlock areas, but you also complete quests. QUESTS! These can take SO long to complete, you will be doing quests your entire career in the game. A bunch of different bears giving quests that stay challenging throughout.
Sorry for the paragraph, but one does not simply insult bee game.
One day I will please the bee swarm simulator fandom with a 17 hour in-depth video of how it's the outlier in the genere of simulators, having no p2w mechanics, and simply being a good game.

I miss the time when simulators were actually going by their dictionary term, the few games that are are impossible to find but are some of the most funny experiences ive had on roblox
Ngl, i experienced Mow my Lawn 2 in a completely different way, when you play it with the mindset that it is a simple (but annoyingly grindy) boss fighting game, the gears shift a lot and there's really SO MUCH content into the game it honestly starts to resemble submarine simulator by how much it tricks you on the start by making you think you are playing a completely different game to what you end up with
Also, the boss fighting is actually really good, it just follows a set genre of fighting games on roblox that look for being simpler, saying its bad or mediocre is like saying terraria combat is bad bc i doesn't look like elden ring
It is very sad to see however, how only its flaws ended up leaving an ironbranding on future games of the platform while it's good parts only remain on extremely niche and mostly forgotten parts of roblox

Great video discussing the spam of clicking and pet hatching ‘simulators’. I think you could also mention the realistic simulators in Roblox from the past few years. For example, Sunshine Islands Bus Simulator is the best bus simulator I have played in Roblox. The map is very large, all buses are free to play, and the modeling is very detailed. The passengers even scream and complain when you crash the bus. Most people do not know about this game because simulators are now spammed by clicking and pet hatching games, and bus simulators are not even recognized by the simulator player base.
i've always wondered how much money i could make from making minimal effort penny pinching simulators, though i wouldn't be able to do it. everything i've worked on in all my years of Roblox development have been solely out of passion and without care for how much money i could get out of any audience i could attract with it
not that i think monetizing a game is bad or anything; game development is a business and passion doesn't pay the bills. i just think games like modern simulators aren't developed with the thought of "hmm how fun would it be if we added x", they think "how much can we squeeze out of our playerbase by adding x", which as someone who works on projects cuz i think the idea i have would be fun in execution, i think the way they think is so soulless, and no amount of flashy colors or cutesy art style will change that for me

A passion project painfully crafted over the span of many, many months. Its very well done and honestly one of your best videos. I don’t know why I played through so many modern simulators, which are really just copies of each other, and was never weirded out by it. I think it was because I thought it was normal.
Anyways, this is an amazing video. I liked learning about how many simulators in the past were like actual simulation games, those simulators were good and had effort, some in fact were ahead of their time. I also found out that some games are simulators too, even if simulator isn’t in the title. But in more modern time, developers focused more on simulators being what they could use to make money off of children. A lot of modern simulators are carbon copies that look different, and the definition of simulators has just changed, a lot.
Seeing some of the simulators in the past kind of inspired me to make simulators like them, and add special mechanics. I imagined making a simulator about engineering and fighting monsters.
the dinossaur one cant be compared to the other simulators that are just cashgrabs or visits farm,it has effort on it and polished by the devs.
I feel like we should make simulators that actually simulate specific scenarios and not just be Cookie Clicker: Prepare to Pay 2 Win Edition
Like, Space Station simulator, simulating the usual sci fi space stations without any innovation inc. level destruction of the station, but you could decorate the station with decals, you can even expand the station, and each player has their own space station that can be customized with earnable themes (like Dieselpunk or even Biomechanical)

honestly think about it
our daily rountine consists of eating food (filling up energy bar)
going to work/school (school is the tutorial, work is how you make money)
either spend money on cosmetics (furniture, accessories) or save for upgrades (better car, house, etc)
and most importantly, the game finds SO many dumb reasons to take away your money so you’re stuck grinding for as long as possible
