Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds are a seven-piece ensemble led by the powerful soul vocals of Arleigh Kincheloe. She’s a seasoned stage performer who swaggers as the band’s alluring frontwoman. By belting out massive choruses and swooning over sobering jazz breaks, Sister Sparrow herself is able to conduct the band’s constantly morphing instrumentation.

Saw them in Memphis. They were great! I'm in my 60's and our children went with us. They were NOT looking forward to this. That all changed when the music at Lafeyette's Music Room started. We all loved SISTER SPARROW & THE DIRTY BIRDS!!!

How are there no comments here for the past 2 years?! I just saw them this weekend on Infinity Hall Live and was hooked. Not my usual music, but so mixed and incredible that I loved it. I had to check out more from them. That led me here and this video is a good compilation of their work. I'll be hunting down the CD's and mp3's to listen to later in multiple ways.

RIP that guitarist's shoulders. He's playing a Peavey T-60...they feel and sound amazing but good lord they are heavy.
Some of the best faces are made by the drummer there in the back during Catch Me If You Can... Awesome band. Really jives my gizzard.
I love how the guitar player is playing a T-60! And that harpoon man, damn!
Those things are criminally under-represented in the professional music scene. They're as well made as anything Fender has ever produced, and sound absolutely monstrous!

These guys are great - junior Tedeschi-Trucks band. But not all that junior! Same tight, soulful, arresting music. I'm a new fan for life. Never heard of Audiotree before. Now it's my go-to place. Hot damn.
Like to hear her and Susan Tedeschi do a duet, or better yet her band and Derek Truks band together...

Too bad they don't still have this guitarist. Got to see him with them some years ago, in Baltimore, and had a chance to 'talk shop' a bit. Great player and obviously a lot of fun to watch. He was playing Strats then, not sure what this Peavey 'plank' guitar is all about....?
