Some of those mechanics assembling the modern work of Italian art fathers weren’t even born in 1951. And more important somewhere in the crowd on this coming Sunday there will be a guy my age who saw that car win in 1951.
Wow, the 375 F1, Ferrari's 1st Grand Prix winner and now 70 years later is going back to Silverstone. Fantastic!
Actually, Michael Schumacher drove the original 375 F1 (that Gonzalez drove to Ferrari's first victory) at Silverstone in 2001 to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Ferrari's first win. Fernando Alonso also drove it in 2011. This car belonged to Bernie Ecclestone at the time.
It looks like Ferrari have built the 375 F1 in this video from scratch using the original technical specifications and drawings.

@@rinoluppino4832 Hi, This is the same actual Gonzalez car which like you say Schumacher & Alonso also drove. Ferrari Classiche has just restored it. I think LeClerc will drive it this time at Silverstone. 👍
@@Chicane500 Bernie has or had ( ? ) one of the biggest F1 car collection. It's a shame there not open to the public but several been shown at the Goodwood FOS.
To me it would be strange if Ferrari builds a replica when the original is still around.

Fun fact my grandfather Ron Roycroft of New Zealand owned and raced this very famous car. Bought from Louis Rossier in 1955/ 56 needing a total rebuild and was first driven in the 57 New Zealand GP with newly fabricated body. Grandad finally retired it in the early 60s into his own fantastic collection of about 100 cars until it was sold in the 90s. The ex Gonzalez 375 Ferrari wasn't the only thoroughbred in grandad's stable he also owned and raced the famous ex Nuvolari 1935 German GP winning P3 Alfa Romeo. Footage of Ron Roycroft driving both cars can be found on U Tube. Little old New Zealand certainly ended up with some very famous race cars throughout its rich racing history.
It's absolutely wonderful to see what I regard as part of my own families heritage being restored to their former glory or even better.

Would like to see more restorations by the crew as they reassemble and buff history. Leather bushings for the tanks to isolate vibration. Quite incidental to most now. Ferrari hand select leather. A multi-million dollar race car of the ages. Thank you for the video Ferrari. very nice.

How much poetry... how much love. The 375 F1 is reborn from the loving hands of Ferrari mechanics, the great-grandchildren of those who 70 years ago mounted it for the first time. Gestures of the past, the leather cut out by hand, the projects jealously preserved in the archives and meticulously consulted as the Commendatore would have liked. The unique emotions that only a Ferrari can give.
