It is an important question to ask... why am i stacking precious metals? me personally its a hobby and its a way to pay myself for all the hard work i do and save up for lifes big purchases or retirement. I dont bulk buy or give any concern to spot price or what anyone else is doing, i have always stacked my way. I enjoy spending all week window shopping, looking at all the new coins/bars/rounds released and picking the one coin, sometimes 1oz, sometimes 2oz but just picking that coin that i think is the bestest evaar and that is me paid, everything else i earn is for bills, entertainment, whiskey and whatever else takes my fancy and i also save up slowly and aim to get 1/2 oz of gold a year, nothing that overstretches my finances. Now after 11/12 years of doing that its a decent stack. Seen so so many people want to get as much as they can as quickly as possible and burn out, get fed up and sell up and have nothing once they have spent what they ,made back. Another question? why do you hide away your precious metal? i could understand if you have £100k in gold and it needs securing but for the average stacker i would always advise that you enjoy your collection. If you filled a photo frame with all your gold sovereigns and had them hanging on the livingroom wall do you think the average burglar would even give them a second glance? they want your tv, your phone, your car keys, your wallet, they know nothing about coins or their value and even less idea on how to sell them. Hiding something in plane sight can be just as secure as locking them away at some undisclosed location. I have my coins on display so i enjoy them but they are protected, something as simple as motion cameras, a secure room in the house etc. People have frying pans hung up in their kitchen with more value than the average stackers hoard, or even their god awful shoes can be £100s of pounds a pair, people also park their 20K car in the street but worry sbout a £1500 1oz gold coin not being in a safe within a safe within a safe up in the chimney somewhere. Get your coins and enjoy them, as much as losing them to light fingers would be upsetting, losing them to the paranoia of security has took them away from you in any case.

I think the main reason I don't want a single piece of silver or gold is because of the threat and letting anyone know I do this as a hobby, that i even know anything about it. 🤣I probably have to loosen up right? Lucky for me I haven't sold up so my journey is still continuing 😁 Hopefully!
@@averagestacker Yea, not good to be too secretive, very very few people are out get rob you. I like sharing my hobby, i save the coins i buy to show a few people that have been interested to see what ive got, you could inspire someone. You do still have to be careful to a degree, for example i used to show my wifes niece my collection when she was younger, i thought i could inspire her but now she older she is a goon, drug taking and dating a scroat dealer and i do worry that she knows i have something of value should her lifesyle of choice become a lifestyle of habbit, never had a problem but caution is at the back of my mind and i have learnt you could introduce someone innocent and honest to your collection but they may not always be that way.
