Wow when was the last time that we've seen her play this well? The stars really aligned for her in this match. Phenomenal serves and strokes. Keep it up Emma!!!
This was an excellent win from Emma. I was hoping she'd raise her level coming from her lacklustre R1 performance and she went above and beyond. This was for the haters. On to the next! 👏
Good win for Emma. There were comments after her first match that she had to raise her game in order to beat Mertens who is ranked #33 currently. And for Emma to beat her as easily as she did is impressive. Cross my fingers she'll continue this level for the rest of the tournament.
Be amazing to see her go all the way. Swiatek isn’t the best on grass so that will help. Coco gauff could be a problem if she meets her if she makes it through the next round. Not sure when she would meet her.
I'm actually rooting for her for the simple fact that many regard her Grand Slam victory as a fluke and not without justification: she won the trophy without facing a single top 10 player and it took her nearly 3 years after winning the US open to beat her first top 10 opponent (Pegula at Eastbourne). The US Open is also her only title. Given all that, it's hard to give her Grand Slam title the weight we would normally accord such an accomplishment.
I am rooting for Emma as well. I think she is developing and getting better. I think perhaps and hopefully she has started to deal and process all the pressure and expectations in a better way too. I think she can be really great. Like everyone else, she also needs some time. ❤ Overall, I enjoy watching her game and style of play
Its not her fault she didnt face a top 10 player when she won the US Open. It's not for the lack of them at that tournament, that's for sure. I can agree her GS win is disproportionate to other GS winners for that reason, but obviously she has the talent on the big stage. She played under 20 ITF level, 4 wta low level, and 3 Wimbledon's until the year she won the US Open. Then didn't she have injuries and anxiety or something like that (things that go with being young and beautiful paired with rapid worldwide success....)? She has a good a shot as anyone here i.m.o., especially after seeing her dismantle Mertens - a very solid player and #1 ranked doubles player. Almost seems like her early development team had her pointed in the grass specialist direction, then the US Open happened.
@@jeremypearson6852 That's what everyone forgets in my opinion - she is only twenty one, and the big win prevented her game from developing naturally due to the target she became.
Wow, is she back? I had written her off as a head case a few years back. She played really tough here, and looks mentally good as well as physically. Maybe it’s maturity. Very glad to see this. I would love to see her have a good career and find her true place.
@@johnrowell3583 It’s not a matter of how strong they are. There were things like regulations they needed to follow, the virus was an unknown at that time meaning players didn’t understand how this could affect them, so they were cautious. All they knew at the time was people were dying. Not many were training during this time. So that’s why she won 😉👍
@@lichade2008 what a load of twaddle. So Raducanu was immune to this somehow? Did she arrive from outer space or something? Ooh maybe through mystic portal? Go on, can’t wait to hear!
Emmas serve had some serious pop on the ball. Impressive win for Emma, Elise is no hack. Emma has to keep hitting her forehand with pace instead of those soft fluffy sitters to the middle.
A top-notch performance from Emma Raducanu. She was absolutely supposed to boost the level in order to contend more perseverant and steadfast than the first round and previous appearances. Self-reliance of Emma keeps elevating in eac passing phase. The alignment of the professional British tennis competitor nurtured on the pitch. Many congrats! Well-deserved victory on home soil.
Emma is looking like a tennis player! Finally! Playing beautiful, powerful and skill-fully. She could go far in this tournament, provided she doesn’t get injured that is.
Not expecting Emma to win it all but if she can get into the rounds ending in “F” then it’s a good sign she’s back in form. Remember she has a US open slam under her belt and she whacked all her opponents not even dropping a set so when she’s on top of her game she can be dangerous
Emma undoubtely on a tear. I’m just wondering whether it’s mainly because she’s on home soil. However, she’s very solid and impressive. Apart from Rybakina, she can be a real deal for Iga on this tournament. Nice to watch her play like that
They're going mental about the possibility of a Gauff v Raducanu match!!!.......we would like Wimbledon edited highlights to be as good as, if not better than, the Bad Homburg edited highlights......which were frequently around 20 minutes.
Raducanu yet again leaving me with some question marks, like how come she can beat up an experienced player like that, and only winning one big tournament up to now. I don't think she will win Wimbledon (that would be ridiculous having won two big tournaments and being majors at that), because she is too inconsistent, but I seriously hope she can win some WTA titles before strongly competing in majors again.
Its a decent performance, Sakkari will be much harder to beat, hope she can keep her level, but i doubt it, Raducanu has always struggled to keep any consistency to her game.
Not only is Emma striking the ball harder, her placement of shots is so much better! Playing inspired tennis!
Wow when was the last time that we've seen her play this well? The stars really aligned for her in this match. Phenomenal serves and strokes. Keep it up Emma!!!
Never. And this isn't 'well', u bot.

Lets go Emma, win Wimbledon. That would be funny, she would only have two titles both Majors.

That backhand down the line is money!!!
Nice to see that she raised her level from r1❤
Yeah she was less nervous and more able to play well. Lucky she got a lucky loser in the first round, tbh.
Emma was playing freely and it translated to the result. good work!
She’s found her peak form again. Great to see it. She is playing like she could go all the way right now. Confidence is there again.
This was an excellent win from Emma. I was hoping she'd raise her level coming from her lacklustre R1 performance and she went above and beyond. This was for the haters. On to the next! 👏
Yes! And how she has bulked up and is so strong now! Those dumbbell curls she has added to her routine are working amazingly!
nice win for emma! elise is ALWAYS a dangerous opponent, and she's kinda having a good groove on grass

Comments about her 1st round win being the lowest quality match ever played on centre court were so unnecessary
Emma is getting back into her groove.
Emma is looking good so far. She needs everything she has to advance. Well done.
Be amazing to see her go all the way. Swiatek isn’t the best on grass so that will help. Coco gauff could be a problem if she meets her if she makes it through the next round. Not sure when she would meet her.
Amazing Emma is dominant again and on a mission.Watch out,Iga
Emma is peaking impressively ! Congrats.
Love to see her go all the way. She’s in peak form right now
ER play so good, hopefully EM will get the result in double.
Really happy for her.
I'd say Emma is 60% of her potential. All those injuries must go away, it took years but worth the wait.

Don’t forget, she didn’t drop a set in that USO win, still a remarkable achievement for a qualifier. She is only 21.

Well said. Hope she goes far in this tournament. ❤
9th seed Maria Sakkari is next. Last time they met was at the US Open semis in 2021.
Maria is tough, but its a winnable match for Emma.
she just needed time after the us open win and to be healthy. she's an amazing prospect for British tennis . keep going Em
Nice to see raducanu playing well!
Shades of her US open win. Mertens is a quality player. Let us see how she does against a top 10 adversary. Looking forward to her progress.
EMMA did pretty well against a top 5 adversary (jpeg) last week in Eastbourne !!
This is how it al started 3 years ago. I'm booking my tickets to NY
Mertens is no slouch, #1 ranked doubles player. I hope Emma can keep finding her A game.
I remember this version of Raducanu!

I believe that she can win this whole thing, seriously🎉🏆
That would be awesome if she won't her home slam, wouldn't it? I hope she does!
she won't
Put her against Gauff, Swiatek I'm afraid she wouldn't win even a set.
The best we've seen from her in a very long time. Can she keep it going?
Impressive showing by Raducanu. I think she beats Sakari in the 3rd round.
Raducanu's performance in R2 is good enough to beat Sakkari. Raducanu beat Sakkari in the 2021 US Open.
If she plays like this again, she can definitely win against Sakari. Consistency is the key.
Heights of Greatness. Keep climbing Emma!
it's not Raducanu vs Mertens hightlight, it's just Raducanu hightlight
The new and improved Raducanu 2.0. Stronger physically, mentally and injury free.

Emma used to defend and recenter, hoping for opponent mistakes. Now she's attacking and playing with tempo. Gj coach Cavaday!
Agree, shes been way to passive, especially on her forehand, but that may have been due to injury.
