Edit: I just looked it up. She has made 1 semi final appearances few few quarter finals since winning the US Open.

Very similar kind of match to the US Open semi-final. 2 breaks in the first set then an early break in the second before lots of tension for us fans while Emma herself looked as cool as a cucumber. This time she got the second break so not quite as nervy an ending. Draw opening up nicely...

This is why Emma is a Grand Slam champion. She's fearless when she plays the pressure points. She absolutely goes for it win or lose. If she keeps playing like this, she could end up in the finals. What a talent Emma is. I'm so happy to see her fit and healthy so she can play freely.
This is not a surprise result at all, ANYONE can beat Sakkari at a grand slam match. Seeding is just a number, it doesn’t guarantee anything. Plus, Emma is on an amazing form right now. The next match against Lulu Sun is an interesting one for sure.

Slam dunk ? Just because she has an insanely easy draw until now it doesnt mean a lot. Yes she is playing way better than her normal level, that she has shown the last 3 years, but still there are at least 10 players in the draw that will destroy her if they meet her. Iga, ostapenko, collins, rybakina, kalinskaya, samsonova , jabeur, paolini, keys, gauff. All of them will destroy her if they meet her. She is just extremely lucky that sabalenka retired since she was on her part of the draw, and also the retirement of alexandrova was extremely helpful. She has beaten a nobody, then mertens and sakkari who are always bad on grand slams

I didn't see any hate. It's just that she came out of nowhere winning US Open, she was praised as the next big thing from the media/sponsors and for the next 2 years she couldn't reach round 3 of any GS.
