- Hello and welcome back to the channel. This video is a showcase of my ongoing German army for Bolt Action. What started life as a simple Fallschirmjager project quickly escalated into something quite bigger and now comes in at close to 4500 points! In the video, I will show you the project in its entirety and the individual units and vehicles that make up the overall army.
It has been an absolute joy working on this project. From the beginning I wanted it to be quite unique and so this is why a lot of the units have been kit bashed in some way or another. I wanted to keep the force made of plastic as far as I could and so there are only a handful of metal or resin models within the whole army. Some of these units have been included in previous painting update videos but it was really good to see the entire project army together as one army for the first time. It is comprised of;

I just got into Bolt action, and bought some Fallschirmjager. This video inspired me but I am so intimidated by the painting process.
Hey buddy, welcome to Bolt Action and I'm glad the video was a bit of inspiration. Its easy to be intimidated by the painting aspect part of it but there is a wonderful online Bolt Action community to provide tips and guidance for your painting. My advice would be to take your time, think about what scheme you want to achieve but more importantly, don't compare your painting to other models that you see painted. They are your figures and should be painted your way and at your pace. If it helps, I have another video -ua-cam.com/video/MUTt0IGf_RA/v-deo.html that shows I how I go about painting my Germans. Very nice. I got JUST started collecting. Got a box of US rangers im using as late war Infantry and Engineers. And Pioneers Im using as sturmpioneers and ostruppen. Good to see a full painted army for inspiration
That's awesome, thank you! Welcome to Bolt Action, I'm pretty sure you will enjoy it. That sounds like a good plan you have there, one of the things that I love about Bolt Action is the mixing and matching of different troops for different periods of the war. Cheers mate! I've really enjoyed working on this project and have probably added a further 1500 or so more points to it since this video. This is what can happen when a project sort of gets out of control and you just keep adding more and more to it 😁
Really good, i have a feeling my small sensible start with my volkssturm is going to get out of hand, i already bought some grenadiers and am planning on SS and fallschirmjager, maybe some vehicles but im not good with them, anyway great video!
Cheers buddy! Yeah, this is definitely an issue that many Bolt Action players encounter. Initially I was only planning on about 1000 points of Fallschirmjager.....but it very quickly escalated like many other projects 😀

Cheers Sam! Aye, definitely agree about Chain of Command. That's precisely how an MMG should work. We're looking at at 15mm Chain of Command this year so it'll be good to see it in practice 😊

Thanks Lucian! Yeah it does tend to happen quite a lot....this started with the Fallschirmjager starter box and just sort of grew. In fact more has been added since this video 😀

Definitely agree with this Tony. I almost bought one at the WG Open Day not long after it was released but I changed my mind. I will certainly be adding one to the army at some point next year though 😊
