FYI, you don't have to tear the sound barrier plastic. You could use an exacto knife or razor blade to cut through black adhesive to separate the sound barrier from the door frame. After you're done, you can just re-apply the adhesive again. It's sticky enough to hold. It has worked for me on all the cars I have worked on.
Great video, really well explained. I've wathced 100 different videos over the years and this is one of the better ones. Nothing worse than leaving out simple hints. Very well done, thanks man. Video #2 would be great though. Can't find it. Cheers.
A good video like this would come from a Frank. You even sound like a Frank. Lol! You should also make more videos. This was excellent. Thank you good sir.
Where is part of actually replacing the mirror The video only showed how to take door panel off but didn’t show actual replacement of mirror. May be there are other follow up videos that I couldn’t find
Helpful video but seem asinine to have to tear down my door to replace a mirror. They should force car engineers to work as a mechanic for like 6 months and it might help down the line.
In 2015 all of the black is one piece. It's all part of the housing. The painted shell and the mirror glass are the only things that can be replaced separately. On my 2019 there are multiple pieces to the mirror housing.

Great idea. I just patched the plastic with a piece of duct tape.

Thanks Daryl, I wasn't really happy with the second video. I didn't think it added that much. I will post it anyway.

The second video didn't add much in my opinion.

That broken piece can be replaced for $35. Why purchase a new mirror?
