I just used this video to replace my side mirror and although auto mechanics and I are like water and oil this made it super easy! Thanks for empowering me and helping me save money and/or public humiliation!
Awesome video; extremely clear and well-described. It took me about 15 minutes to replace the mirror on my wife’s car and saved her about $250. Thank you!
Your. video was PERFECT!! It gave me confidence to remove and epoxy a cracked side-view mirror and then reinstall. Excellent level of detail. We bought a trim tool set from Napa and it was well worth the $6.
Great video. Our son's passenger side mirror looked exactly like yours. The replacement mirror came today, and wouldn't you know it they sent the drivers side instead. I think the other thing one needs for a project like this is patience. Thanks again for the video... very helpful!
My 2009 Subaru Forester has two additional screws behind the switch panel in the center of the door. It is necessary to pry up and remove this panel to have access to the 2 screws.
I had a new mirror installed, but the alignment is way off. Meaning, Drivers side can move more to the right (inside of the car) and down, than moving upward and out (away from the car). The passenger side works well and I can cover the blind spot easily. The Driver's side is the one having issues and I can only move it to see the side of the car and hardly any upward movement (but plenty of downward) So is there a physical alignment needed to make sure it will operate and visually cover the needed areas?
@@TheSundaeDrive I took it to the Subaru dealer I bought it from. He fixed in about 5 minutes. One of the clips that connect the mirror to the mount was not snapped in pace, causing it to hangup. They said they'd seen it before on occasion since it's easy to miss.
This is a very helpful video. I am having a super hard time finding a replacement mirror unit for my 2010 Outback. Any suggestions on where to buy one?
This was so helpful! I just changed my own mirror and saved 100 bucks! 😊$$$ Yay! Thanks for helping me. I feel empowered and proud. I might have lost a screw inside the door, but who cares. One day I’ll replace it:-)
Thanks so much for this video!!! Just done the near side mirror on my car. EXACTLY as shown in video!!! However I did notice one of the three screws that hold the mirror on were missing. Oh dear! Thanks again!
Amazon delivered within a few weeks, also got some plastic tools : Tresalto Auto Trim Removal Tool Kit, Set of 5 Pcs. Did the replacement just now with this video.
Hi. Thank you for sharing. I do have a question on how to connect the wire- What did you connect that into the car? I only can understand how it is installed with the screwdriver and sucker... Also, what if I didn't break the mirror but only the cover cap? Its parts number is 91054G. Thank you very much!
What year is your Subaru? Looks like the 91054G is for a 2015 or newer Subaru. Maybe 91054E? The electrical plug for the mirror is easy to find but I did not follow that wire all the way into the car to see where it goes
I got a subaru outback 2010 and trying to find a replacement for the driver side heated mirroir... and cannot seem to find any on the web. Any help ? thx

is it possible to replace the side mirrors on a 2010 outback (no hinge) with the mirrors from a 2011 outback (hinged)?

Very helpful video!
Glad it helped!
Why not cut the connector off instead of damaging the rubber gasket? You're not going to use the old mirror anymore.
The connector would probably fit through the taper going the other way. Especially with some soap.

@UA-cam User ebay is a scam. They sell PARTIAL mirroir at 150$ and you have to buy 2 more parts at 30$-50$ each to complete it...
Carparts.com
@@jamesnewby6878 carparts.com doesn't carry it for a 2010, although they do for 2011. 2010 is different somehow.
This was super helpful was able to replace my mirror in ten minutes thank you

Thanks ! It took me 15 minutes!
