  • You can see the ocean, lakes, mountains, woodlands and wetlands while in Acadia National Park. People come here for Mount Desert Island, hike the tallest mountain in the eastern seaboard, Cadillac Mountain; watch the sunset at Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse, and take a picturesque walk through the Jordan Pond Nature Trail.
    Originally created as Lafayette National Park in 1919, the oldest National Park east of the Mississippi River, it was renamed Acadia in 1929.

    I was so fortunate to have lived near acadia for 3 years, we went all the time, I've hiked every mountain, every trail and have taken 100s of photos, we are back for the first year since 2013 today, and will be back at Acadia on Tuesday! I cannot even begin to Express how happy and excited I am.

    I was there two days ago. Magnificent and majestic! I’m watch videos and looking at my pictures re-living the beautiful experience. I’m from California and thought the California coastline was everything... until I saw Acadia😮

    Be still my heart. We've loved Acadia and Maine since we first traveled there about 15 years ago! Absolutely gorgeous! We would move there in a heartbeat if we could swing it.

    I just got back from there, Beautiful, Amazing scenic views, free buses that take you to the the different parts of the park with ease and plenty of lodging from simple motels to extravagant cottages, there is Walmart about three miles from the park if you need to stock up on supplies, well worth the drive from New York City to Bar Harbor, Maine, about 9 hours, give and take a hour depending on traffic and stopping for gas and bathroom breaks, comfortable drive with the 2019 Subaru Crosstrek, I hope one of the viewers of this video goes there now during the Fall season, there is only a week or two left till the season is over.

    Acadia's the most beautiful state park I have ever been to on the East Coast. Hands down! Mount Desert Island is very secluded and very empty as the name suggests.

    Jordan Pond has a bike/pedestrian trail that loops around and is about 3.4 miles around. If you're visiting Acadia you should really see it. Out of anywhere I vacationed as a kid, it had the most magical feeling of all. It sounds corny, but it felt like a castle belonged there. Every national park has beauty, but Acadia has an indescribable vibe to it. Definitely see it if you can.

    I grew up on Mount Desert Island. The narrator pronounced it wrong - we call it "Mount Dessert," like, a sweet you eat after dinner, even though its spelled 'desert.' I don't know why we have always pronounced it like that!

    • @elizabethramirez6119
      @elizabethramirez6119 10 років тому +1

      I believe that we pronounce it as "dessert" from the French which means Island of the Deserted Mountains. I, too, am constantly correcting people.

    John 3:16-21 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
