Sarah Brightman used to be a dancer. She married Andrew Lloyd Webber who wrote 'Phantom of the Opera' and was the first 'Christine' in this show alongside Michael Crawford who was a great 'Phantom'. This video with Antonio Babderas was for a tribute on the 50th birthday of Andrew Lloyd Webber.
You're right, Antonio did it superbly. And not only sang, but also played. I would say in terms of acting, he was more successful with the image of a ghost here than she was with the image of Kristina. This devilish look is what his hero should have, domineering with the fire of passion. Hypnotizing at the same time. He walks around her like a predator hunter. He combines a lot of things in himself because of the plot. According to the plot, Kristina is 18 years old, she is a gentle touching girl and in the film she is either in white or in a blue dress, but not in black, so this partially prevents her from recreating the image of Kristina. And I would say that although Sarah sings beautifully, I don't see her acting at the same time.
I remember back when I was a child and my mum was obsessed with this opera. Of course I was too young to appreciate it. But listening to it 30 odd years later I have a great appreciation for it. By far my favourite is Michael Crawford's part in it. That lady here has a very unique tone.
This is not an opera at all. It is a musical. It is a Broadway or West End show like any other. Sarah Brightman is not an opera singer, although she can hit notes. Many female singers can. She has never performed in an opera. Just to be clear. 😊
@@alysona9031 Unfortunately the long long running musical opera sadly closed for good recently, after a 35 year run. The only way Sarah could see it now would be to watch the 2004 MOVIE adaption of the same Broadway and touring show of "PHANTOM OF THE OPERA" by Andrew Lloyd Webber, starring EMMY ROSSUM as "CHRISTINE, " GERARD BUTLER as "THE PHANTOM" and MINNIE DRIVER as "CARLOTTA" It is here on You Tube for free (with ads) here is the link ua-cam.com/video/kYqIoHf-wgU/v-deo.html it is just as beautiful as the stage show was.
This song is from 'The Phantom of the Opera' which is a British show and was also performed in Broadway. It was not an American show. This video is from a tribute to Andrew Lloyd Webber on his 50th birthday.

yes i was suprised by Antonio to be singing . Sarah is known over the world.
You want to listen to Nightwish version.
Brilliant
Sarah can sing anything. She is most versitile. When she sings other types of songs you do not even recognize it is her. Her voice did lower with age.
I love your reaction videos there is a band called Heartland they have a beautiful song called I Loved Her First

Take a look at Nightwish covering this with Tarja. Recorded at the live performance at the Hartwall Arena in Helsinki, Finland, on October 21, 2005
