Keep up the great work! I'm 14 and I just joined the International Order of DeMolay and it was because of this channel. I enjoy all of your videos and look forward to many more.
I'm humbled that my videos had that much of an impact on you. Thank you for letting me know, I hope I can be equal to your expectations. Good luck with the DeMolay, I've heard wonderful things but have never been a part of it myself.
Good day brother Jared. I am Joe, and I've joined the brotherhood because of your motivation and your precise and clear explanations. Many can learn from you and from this. I thank you for putting up with the questions, and for posting those incredibly fulfilling and informative videos. Best of luck with all!
Hi Jared! Been watching the last 6 months and got a couple of freemasons coming for the home visit shortly! Really stoked! Also very grateful for the advice and truthful insights. If I get voted in expect an intro from 🇬🇧 Thanks again mate
Jarrod there is occult significance to the right hand vs the left. The right hand path is said to be of service to others towards divinity. The left hand path that of service to self.
In Islamic culture, the term "right hands" is an honorific. In the Quran, "companions of the right hand" refers to those who will enter Paradise. The phrase "mā malakat aymānukum" ("those whom your right hands possess") appears 15 times in the Quran. It's the most common expression used in the Quran to describe enslaved people. In the Quran, verse 33:50 refers to women "possessed by the right hand" as "spoils of war". This verse became the basis for allowing captive women to be distributed as concubines. However, the Quran also permits men to have sexual access to "what their right hands possess," meaning female captives or slaves. In Arab culture, the right hand is reserved for eating meals and greeting people.
Okay thanks W.Bro, In my quest for Enlightenment I was wondering how many states where similar, and how many has standardized work. I meet a lot of dignitaries from other states at our Grand Lodge annual communication meeting every year.
I'm starting my journey tonight, I also subscribe to your other channel. I notice the colored balls on the shelf have changed pattern from the triangle they were in. Anyway I look foward to watching your videos and joining the brotherhood.
In my state of NC a Certified Lecture is someone who is proficient in all of the ritualistic work and is commissioned as such by the Grand Lodge, and has to get recommissioned ever 5 years.
There are 2 possible things in MS that are applicable: 1) We have a Grand Lecturer - a Grand Lodge Officer - who is responsible for ensuring that all work is done properly throughout the state, as we do have standardized work in our state. He appointed Deputies to almost 30 districts, each having roughly 7-9 lodges each. Those deputies have many different meetings to refresh their work, but the only person with a say on if their work is right, or if that person stays a deputy, is the Grand Lecturer. 2) Just this year we adopted a Ritual Proficiency Program. There are 2 main parts, a Burial one, and a Ritual one. Under the Ritual one there are 4 "steps", with the burial is just 1 step. There are specific people you have to "turn in" your work to (members of our Board of Custodians, or their designee), they sign it off and you get credit. As far as I understand the program, there is no re-up time. You just earn it - period. While it's an honor to have, it does not grant any additional rights for the person holding it - just an award.
Love the videos......... I live in reno nv and just had a surgery and so Im out of work but spend alot of my time reading about the Craft and would asked to be one however when i step and ask to be a mason I want to have my shit together so I should be back to work in April and then I will inquire about joining masonry ! what really made me like masonry was reading Morals and Dogma Albert Pike was a very wise man ! Thanks for the videos any tips let me kno thanks again GOD BLESS!
As the current Venerable Master of our Knights of St. Andrew, and Wise Master of the Chapter of Rose Croix, I have to admit that I've never heard the term "3 journeys" before. Maybe another SR jurisdiction?
People look to far into it, its like going to an art museum and looking at one of those paintings thats just a few blotches of paint. Anyone could see anything depending on what they want to see. Its best to leave it that way, only the artist knows what it means. That's what its all about. The rest is entertainment for those who know. Only way to find out is by asking the artist. .....
Not in Mississippi I am not. Perhaps in another jurisdiction, but here, all of this is printing in our plain-english monitor, which anybody is permitted to read.
Wow this doesn't exist in English working. Always great to see the differences. Parts of the lamb skin explanation is given by the Senior Warden when he presents the apron to the candidate..
Enjoying your videos from East Coast Canada. I am currently waiting to hear if my application is approved so trying to learn up ahead of time. During the first "meeting", are there any right and wrong answers or things I should think about before this takes place?
I am unsure which jurisdictions still call them tracing boards, or even use actual tracing boards, but as far as I am aware the lectures are given in one form or another in every lodge.
Great thanks for the quick response. I was just wondering because there was no such thing as tracing boards at my E.A however , I did get lectures. Would you have suggested reading on the E.A ritual, symbolism and study ?
Some lodges, like mine, use a powerpoint to display slides. Some lodges still have film reels or slide projectors as well. That's where the images I overlaid in the video came from. What state are you from? Most have some sort of Ritual Book, Monitor, Cipher, something that you can use for study - usually given out after your Master Mason Degree.
The only thing I could see as bad about these videos is the insite about the work. It should always be a surprise which makes for a better experience. However it is easy to start to daydream during these lectures trying to imagine what is being said, even easier to miss half of the lecture because you can get stuck on a detail that makes that much of an impact on you.
I understand your point of view. However, I personally have yet to meet anybody who hasn't looked up something about Freemasonry before they finally decide to ask for an opinion. Surely it is better to give them some factual information and not just the crazy stuff that is out there. Further, as anybody who has been Initiated, Passed or Raised knows, I'm barely hitting the tip of the iceberg.
I can only assume that the lecture portion of our EA Degree in PA is VERY different from yours. The two examples you gave are not in our degree. We have a portion of lecture that immediately follows the Obligation, and explains what just happened, and a second part where the apron is invested and it is explained how to wear it, and the working tools are explained and this is followed by a charge.
Keith, there is another viewer, David Ozeck, who says he is being Initiated in PA. I know PA is a big state, but the world can also be very small. Thought it might be neat to find out if he is near you. He commented over on the "Why Only 3 Degrees" video.
As in you simply don't know if you know any Master Masons? The GL of FL has a website for you to locate a lodge and you can directly contact a member of the lodge. Have you given that a try? lodges.glflamason.org/public/Lodge-Search.aspx

Great stuff brother Jared. Keep up the good work!
Thank you very much Brother!
How interesting... so very similar to Ohio, switched here and there!
Learning EA now and finding it very hard to memorize all this
Yet so rewarding. Do not worry about how long it takes, just keep trying.

Great video.
Thank you
I'm an Entered Apprentice and still green. Participated in a rehearsal for an upcoming initiation. Any tips for a greenhorn like me?
Listen. Ask if need be. But mostly listen.
i didnt know there was a rehearsal?
Brother Jared can you please do a video addressing all these anti-Masonic videos on UA-cam. I seen one earlier that was outrageous to me.
Anything other than their existence that you'd like me to address?

Salute brothers. Always a fan of the channel here but isn't Jared violating obligation here?
Not in Mississippi I am not. Perhaps in another jurisdiction, but here, all of this is printing in our plain-english monitor, which anybody is permitted to read.
Here in Ohio it's one lecture divided into 3 sections.
It is here too, but I can't share section 1, so I simply avoided it.
What is a Mason our first section is the actual initiation

Hold on to your hat, there is more to come! A LOT more!
One day I'll sit in a UGLE lodge, and a Pennsylvania lodge... one day.
What is a Mason I'll be happy to welcome you as my guest :)
I just need to find a less expensive mode of travel!
Brother Saunders, would you be willing to email me? j and j acres ms at gmail dot com.

Understood, and I'm from Canada. Thank a lot your a big help.
Do y'all have certified lectures in the state
I'm not familiar with anything specifically called "Certified Lectures". If you can explain what that is, maybe we do, but under a different name?
The only thing I could see as bad about these videos is the insite about the work. It should always be a surprise which makes for a better experience. However it is easy to start to daydream during these lectures trying to imagine what is being said, even easier to miss half of the lecture because you can get stuck on a detail that makes that much of an impact on you.

What is a Mason agreed
"BARELY"
Way too much to memorize, having a lot of trouble. How do some get through so fast?
Well, the simple fact is that some people are annoying good at memorizing things. Other people are okay at it. Some struggle. Others find it hopeless.
NickH practice, practice, practice and then repeat. After you do all of that, practice again. Lol you’ll memorize.
