- I can't believe yet another Shaw Brothers box set is coming out!!! This will be the fifth Shout Factory Shaw Brothers related box set being released this year. Absolute insanity, and we as collectors are feeling a tad fatigued trying to keep up! Are YOU? How is your Shaw Brothers box set hunting coming along? Do you have them all so far? it is crazy! and it’s a drag that some of the sets are website exclusive so that makes it even harder for folks out of the US to import em…. i’m told things are supposed to slow down in 2024
I'm just worried they'll sell out before I'm able to afford them all. Just like the first two volumes of the "Forgotten Gialli" series.
Man I feel your pain, by the end of the year Shout will have put out 6 box sets of Shaw films, this includes Brave archer and David Chaing /Ti Lung set as well. All in all that will be a huge total of 64 movies.
Personally I am loving this, but I gave up smoking a year ago and protected that money so it means I can afford these, and there isn't much else I want.
Regarding selling out if it helps, The Brave Archer box had a limited run of 2500 copies and they still have loads left, so you should be fine for a while.
Congratulations on quitting, that's an extremely hard habit to kick! 🙏
The Brave Archer is probably the last on my list of the box sets to buy (as I'm not really a fan of Alexander Fu Sheng), but yeah.. Hopefully they will have copies available when I finally have the funds.
@@thesharphandpath I know that Fu Sheng is a love or hate kind of guy. I love the Brave Archer series, its utter fantastical nonsense, totally disjointed, where plot threads are started and never followed up on but that's the problem with trying to adapt any work by Jin Yong. I hope you eventually pick up the sets man.

@mitchsfridaynightsongclub2594 No worries, I don't announce it often or dress super feminine or anything so most people don't make the connection. Just figured I'd mention it cuz of the nature of the conversation.
I love classic movies but they have low demand and that is why they are so expensive. They could cut the price by selling movies in standart boxes or making 2 in 1 discs. Anyway old movies after remastering are 10-14 GB max.
I kinda hate multiple movies on one disc though, so I'm kinda glad they make them the way they do. Shaw Brothers films definitely don't seem to be in low demand from what I'm seeing but, possibly because I'm in the Martial Arts Cinema Circle haha.
@@thesharphandpath I have couple of such dvds with Jackie Chan movies. They have that old school vhs vibes.
No fatigue here! I have purchased every set so far and will continue to do so! It’s a great time to be a Shaw Brothers fan.
Must be nice to have all that money to spend on entertainment! Unfortunately, not everyone has that much disposable income. So for those of us who aren't as blessed, it's exhausting trying to keep up.
