PLEASE READ IF YOU'RE CONSIDERING GETTING A TURTLE: Just wanted to say I no longer recommend using aquarium sand in turtle setups. The turtle can consume it and it can cause some serious problems. If you want to use sand, use very fine grain sand or play sand. But it's best to use rocks or pebbles that are large enough to where the turtle can't consume them.

You can always make an indoor pond with the tub search online it’s dope asf.

I do recommend the turtle dock, its small but my red eared slider can fit on it, the platform feels cheap but its completely fine with the turtle and the water and I've been using the same platform for about 6 months, warning is that the suction cups might wear off, one of mine did and it doesn't stick to the glass, but the suction cups only cost about 1-2 dollars, I also recommend canister filters since you can keep those on for VERY LONG PERIODS OF TIME, up to 3-4 months, full tank cleaning where you empty out the water and all the gravel should be at least after 3 years.
Yes its true, but that's really when you rarely do a full body tank kit, look, I really don't recommend turtles, especially if you don't have the necessary equipment, a tank like his in the video is required and should really only house at most 2 turtles, you have to be committed with full body clean outs, feeding them everyday, and changing out their water usually at least once a week, its very committed and I don't recommend it. @@erskain

You can easily provide rocks stacked up and they do great in a 3/4 full 40-55 gal tank because they dont swim as much and are bottom dwellers unlike sliders. so helpful most vids I’ve seen push for expensive products its nice to hear abt alternatives like I never even thought of price matching or letgo/offerup. I wasn’t looking to take care of a turtle but I love the little guy n want the best I can afford for him so thanks
Can I use the quick start with water conditioner ? Is it even a good idea to use both
How is your water heater treating you? I bought a Zillow one and it shut off after seconds not working at all

I have just rescue 2 turtles one is a musk and is quite small but 1 is a yellow belly slider and is quite big it's pretty heavy is one of those floating basking docks any good for it or what should I get for them
i’d say build an above tank basking area like i have on my 55 gal
@@CarsonsAquatics thanks ile look into doing that
hello! I have a musk turtle, mud turtle, and yellow bellied slider. My musk turtle is full grown and refuses to bask, as well as my mud turtle, just based on their natural behaviors. You can easily provide rocks stacked up and they do great in a 3/4 full 40-55 gal tank because they dont swim as much and are bottom dwellers unlike sliders. Those floating basking things are pretty small and I've never seen anything that was bigger than the one I use for my 4.5 in juvenile slider and shes going to be needing an upgrade soon anyways. Hope this helps!
Thanks that was really helpful😃😀😃😁😁
Can you take turtles out of water and play with them for a while?? Or are they like fish and will suffocate
