For decades, there have been dedicated trucker’s map books with bridge heights on them. Everso useful in avoiding this type of “schoolboy” error. Now you can even get trucker’s sat navs that avoid these hazards too. Not using all the tools available. Driver’s mistake. (Class 1 driver here, not hit a low bridge once yet.)
The bridge is actual more like a tunnel with an arch construction and no lighting inside how on earth the driver didn't notice is beyond me. It is in Middlewich Cheshire.
Drivers often change trailers of varying heights several times a day. He may have just forgotten he was pulling a double-deck trailer. Now, that is absolutely no excuse for what happened. It was negligence on the part of the driver but it could explain why he made the mistake.
Hi, theboatgoat. Would it be possible to feature this video "Dash Cam UK - Bad Driving - Truck meets low bridge!", and potentially some of your others as well, in the upcoming compilation on our social networks? Thanks in advance!
LOL, had to stop a truck today from doing this, stopped the truck and asked the driver how tall are you, had to help him reverse, but at least nothing damaged.
I Feel so much better having a truck nav with heights and weights set. Still check bridge heights before I go under them though. Had to use Google maps a few times. Not good in a truck.
@@funkyjunkyjai why do you rely on a sat nav it’s no substitution for your eyes. I have been driving a lorry for years long before sat navs. I rely on a map, the road signs and knowing what height my trailer is.
@@truckerdiablo5819 I rely on a sat nav so I know which route to take to a destination without messing about looking at maps. It's a way better substitute. We've got technology to make our lives easier, so I'm going to use it. Its a great assistant to my eyes which still check for bridge heights etc, as I said in my previous comment...
Warning triangle on the wrong side of the road and the prohibition sign obscured by trees. Driver should sue the council.
I’m pretty sure the bridge itself had its height and driver should know his height , sue ?? He was pure stupid
I was thinking the same thing about the road signs

The commercial was perfect narration lmfao
Really need a 999 call to tell the police to tell the railway - dont want a 1000 ton train adding to the carnage.
I follow your work is very educational and thank you for that
All the best and lots and lots of reviews
Guy on the radio was right "Unmissable moments".
😅😅

Driver should of done pre planning before departing no excuse! Sat nav and Maps show you bridges and height!

What would the height of the driver have to do with anything?
@@shadow1x20, oohhhh you silly pedant you 😂😂😂
@@shadow1x20 Haha. I was going to say the same thing. 😂
The signs weren't obviously legible Still no excuse for poor judgment.
Craig charles on the radio, nice.
Not very clear signs as obscured a bit but the driver should have thought, Truck very big Bridge very small.
Oops
Obviously not using a truck sat nav with height restrictions set 😯
Definitely not 😂
The 2 big round things in the front of his head aren’t being used either.
