    Excellent video. I'm hoping to add some zone blocking to my scheme next year and this helped clear up the number system and how to coach it. Thank you.

      Glad it helped! If you need help with blocking IZ against different fronts then I have some videos for that too. Good luck with it!

      @@TheSpreadOffense I'm just learning the whole zone blocking scheme so any resources you got, I'm in! I see you have a bunch of zone blocking vids. If you have a few that you suggest starting with (such blocking against different fronts) then please link them :)

      Awesome! It’s a great scheme that is pretty versatile.
      Here’s a playlist I have on blocking it against different fronts

      Here’s how you can teach the “mesh point” between the QB and RB in the scheme

      @@TheSpreadOffense Thanks for that! I don't know that I'll be running the spread offense though. I'm coaching 10 and 11 year olds and based on my experience with them I'm not sure they'd be able to handle that yet. I want to get them some zone blocking experience as they'll need that when they get into HS ball. I will add in a QB/RB mesh point read as they get older :)

    Thanks for the great video! It helped me a lot! but there is one thing i havn't quite figgured out yet. In the last Clip you showed, the center is joining the double team with the guard to his far left. but he is covered to his backside, isn't he?
    So my question is, why isn't the center blocking the -1 defense player?

    • @TheSpreadOffense
      @TheSpreadOffense  3 роки тому +1

      The difference in clips is a 2i vs a shade on the center. When there is a shade the center must help with his backside hand so the guard can take over, if not then the shade will just shoot the gap and guard can’t get there in time

    What do you do if you get a 4-3 with combo man coverage on the outside?

    • @TheSpreadOffense
      @TheSpreadOffense  3 роки тому +2

      Are you saying 4-3 as in a 7 man box? If that's the case and they are playing man on the outside, then I'm throwing the football and going with my quick game pass concepts, or any in/out breaking routes with some rub/switch action.

    What if they had a third linebacker?

    • @TheSpreadOffense
      @TheSpreadOffense  2 роки тому

      Adding a third linebacker would give them a 7 man box. They would have a +2 man advantage in the box against our 5 OL. It’s never good to run against 7 when you have 5. Throw the football to get that third backer back out of the box.
      Or..
      We would have to add a TE to see if they keep it a 7 man box. If they do then we can neutralize their +1 man (7 vs our 6) advantage by getting back to option & RPO.
