I struggled with how to notate the ending to make it clear what the final note is as this composition has my first ever 'thumb down' organist trick . . . and it's easy to look at the score and forget the clef change in the last line carries through to the last note, making it an F, rather than A. Of course, all Twist compositions should carry a health warning because if the last note does not catch you out . . . the plague of accidentals on the way to the final note will probably finish you off.
Dear Graham, thank you very much for this new beautiful piece. This time of year is very special and it becomes even more special when we can enjoy another composition of yours. Thank you also for the historically detailed description of this Christmas carol, which was unknown to me. Your composition work was perfect, combining the harmonic sweetness of the flutes with the singing presented by the sound of the reeds in the left hand, and a more robust sound at the end. The sound of the instrument that you play also contributed to the good result of the work. In addition, the insertions of very well chosen images always build a narrative together with your music, which is beautiful and great. I wish you and your family a happy end of the year and Christmas. Many greetings to England and a hug!
I think I must have missed this beauty when it was released, Graham! It just came up on my homepage. Absolutely stunning - well done - some slightly jazzy harmonies there I think I note? Anyway, a welcome addition to the Christmas repertoire which like you I never tire of. I am also glad to hear that you are just as much a fan of Ben as I am!
Thanks for watching and commenting, David! I was delighted to meet Ben when he gave a recital at Leeds Minster last month. He is a fabulous organist and very personable. I am honoured he agreed to be the dedicatee to this composition!
WOW!!! Graham, another delightful piece taken from one of my favourite Christmas hymns! I would love a copy to try! BTW that sweater added to the festive mood of your composition!
Hello Graham and thank you for this beautiful composition which already introduces us magnificently into the atmosphere of adoration in the nativity scene on Christmas night.
Congratulations, Graham! I love the harmonic "Twists" that are unique to you. This will certainly come in handy over the next few weeks. PS: I will have a look at my Inbox...

Nice of you to warn users of the stave change for the spicy ending 😂
