      @@jaclynns.jungle from another cannabis grower, to save money when buying any silica, don't fall for the bottled kind, you're paying through the nose, use diatomaceous earth instead, far cheaper, plants absorb it quicker but wear a mask as you don't want to breath in this very fine powder.

    I use silica in all my plant feedings. Even my succulents, but I dilute the solution even more. I can definitely tell the difference in the plant structure when I use it. This stuff is awesome. ❤

      Yes u have to in order for the silica to work other wise u will have nutrient deficiency

    • @jaclynns.jungle
      @jaclynns.jungle  11 місяців тому +2

      Yes! Or try the mono-silicic acid to be safe instead of the more concentrated potassium silicates!! It's easier to use and easier for the plants to absorb!!

    I am also interested in using silica and needed more information but only generic information on the internet. I started using silica- monosilicic acid. I used it for a few weeks. Used it every watering in diluted form and I started to notice stunted growth, black tips and deformed new leaves so I stopped using it. Wanted to gather more information about it and what I've done wrong. I will also start experimenting just some of my plants (before applying it to all).

    • @jaclynns.jungle
      @jaclynns.jungle  11 місяців тому +2

      Yea, silica shouldn't do that. You were likely applying it incorrectly and creating a nutrient deficiency in your plants. Mono-Silicic acid will not create such an issue. It's much more easily absorbed and doesn't have the same side effects if used improperly. The majority of silica products are potassium silicate, so I wouldn't be surprised if that's what you were using. When this concentrated form is applied wrong, it will mess up your pH and pull nutrients from your water.

      I'd recommend getting some mono-silicic acid instead! It's likely that the potassium silicates were messing with nutrient uptake and/or pH. I found a great product I'll be sharing soon 😊

    How many times should i spray plants with silica to resist heat waves .. The reason i ask is because i sprayed silica last Wednesday and there will be a heat wave after one week , is it enough to spray silica to give the plant protection for one month or do i have to spray it every 10 days ?? Great video , thank you

    Thanks Jaclynn! I have also been wondering about this although I don’t want to sit 20 minutes for each plant to soak it up that would take forever. 😂. I may order the mono-silicic acid in your link above. Oh, I edited to say I purchase from Plant Bar Shop their Wellness spray, which has Silica in it and a host of other things like Neem Oil. Would spraying the leaves be enough or uptaking in the roots better or both?

      You can use it with any medium or hydropinically. However, I do recommend MSA over the potassium silicates in this product. I've been using an alternative that's better if you're interested it's by a brand called Impello ✌🏼🌿 I'll have a video up about it with discount codes and such very soon

    Hi! It was an interesting video! Can you help me (maybe)? :) I would like to buy solid form of silicon that I can give to the plants as a base fertiliser (in the garden). Can you suggest me a website or etc. where I can find this products? I am from Hungary, but I think tha "distance" is not problem. I have just started my PhD research on the application of solid forms of silicon as a base fertilizer for horticulture. All the best :) Nora

    Would adding silica sand to my soil do anything

    • @jaclynns.jungle
      @jaclynns.jungle  2 місяці тому

      No, silica sand is not the same form that's bioavailable for plants. The sand is made of silicon dioxide, and it's used to make industrial products stronger.
