    I recently had surgery on my foot. I am bedridden for this month. My husband is watering and taking care of my many plants. I’m getting well enough that I’m now getting a little concerned about their state. Eeek! My husband is a great guy and has told me that for any plant that dies, he will buy me a new one. But these are my babies!

    I actually got to synthesize aspirin from salicylic acid in my chemistry lab course. It's quite a simple process. And neat to learn the reaction can go both ways and you can dissolve it to get back to salicylic acid! Chemistry is so cool especially when I get to apply it to my favorite planty hobbies.

    I just got into plants. My first was a monstera and I was happy with that for the last 6 months (she was a project to save) but now that she’s thriving, I fell down a slippery slope and managed to buy like 7 plants in the last month (including your favorite, the calathea 😂) I actually wanted one after seeing your video on them, and I got a rattlesnake calathea and she is gorgeous. Your videos are so informative! I recently got a Aglaonema White Valentine because the variegations are beautiful. It's been done before, some people even used multi-vitamin or calcium pill in a pinch, just have to dig deeper on utube, though it wasn't well explained as SMP did. If I have to guess why it's normally not recommended for this method is that the dosage is harder to control because the material amounts in it differ from companies to companies making it and may contain some other ingredients that plants may not need or could possibly cause harm, not to mention the purity of the pill, so seasonal gardeners usually just buy plant solutions (way more expensive) to do the work because the result is consistent.

    8:02 Aspirin actually doesn't evaporate, it isn't volatile. It'll form a dry layer on the skin of the leaf, though it might be so tiny that you just can't see it (after all, it's 300 mg / 1 liter of water). Actually now that I said it it actually might sort of shed off if it's a dry powder, so I guess I'm taking that back 😅

  • @ldt6513
    @ldt6513 5 місяців тому +5

    I've used it for a while. Works great. 150-200 mg / liter water. Crush the tablets to a fine powder. Spray once ever 10 - 12 days. Peak auxin / cytokinine level in your plants is said to be around 7 days after you spray them, gradually declining after around day 7.
    I combine with pasteurized milk, 1 part to 9 parts water. Use the milk with most fat, it will have the most enzymes you are after. Don't use long milk. It has been heated so much that the important enzymes are no longer present / not working. I never tried fresh unpasteurized milk, but i believe it will work even better, as it will have 8-9 times more of the enzymes than pasteurized milk.

    • @ldt6513

    This is kind of off the subject but I have a question. I ordered an anthurium from Facebook marketplace. It is healthy looking but the blooms are not bright red like others I've seen. It's color is more like a tomato that's not ripe. Kinda greenish/ orangey. Is this a different type or is it lacking some nutrient? Love your vids! Another question: what's wrong with watering evert day? Lol😂

      Not sure on that tbh. Not much experience with that type of anthurium

    I have plenty of willow trees in my backyard. Can I instead drop a bunch of mulch style willow tree bark pieces into my soil and let nature does its thing?

    Would you be able to substitute White Willow Bark instead?
    Isn’t Salicylic Acid used in serums for your face as well? Great now my plants and I are using anti aging serums
