I have an LG 60PB5600 (60" plasma 72 lbs). I purchased a Video Secu MW390B mount. You say to not use Toggle bolts on 55" + TV's on arm mounts. I'm curious why. The studs in my building are metal and hollow so I think using toggle bolts is my only option. Please let me know if you have any advice.
Bro! I followed your instructions to the "T" and had NO problems! I had never mounted a television myself and was afraid of it falling. It is pretty heavy 47" older modeled flatscreen, but I have no worries about it being secured, thanks to your advice. Thanks again! I get plenty of compliments on it and pretty much feel like a badass! Thanks again!

You explain it well, put caption notes for a little more explanation, give good instruction/demos, and link to stuff you use. Excellent and thorough instructions. I don't have a wall mount TV but after watching this video I feel confident that anyone could do it with a bit of patience. Especially thought your strength test was awesome!
OMG I followed your video and you answered all my questions!! Thank you so much! I'm a girl and I love the "easy to follow" videos. My TV is 55" so the only thing I need help with is putting it on the wall! :-) Thank you!
Just hung a 55 inch LED TV weighing 30lbs on drywall using a tilt mount and 6 spring toggle bolts with a weight capacity of 90lbs per bolt. Thanks for the tips
Very informative. Thanks for the info. I’ve used toggle bolts before but never heard of snap toggles. They look like they are much easier than trying to jam big toggles through a hole while hanging onto the screw and the item being hung- wall standards for shelving and closet brackets. Very tricky for a 70 year old woman to manage- but manage I did. Of course the bolts were so long I went through the closet wall into the bathroom. LOL! So had to cut all the bolts down with a Drexel cut off wheel... but I digress... I want to hang a 44 inch tv on a plaster wall with metal studs, if I can find one. The mount is one that has an arm that extends from wall to tilt left or right. I’ve been worried about how to do it and not sure if the 4 snap toggles will be enough. Maybe there are more holes- not sure. Someone told me I should also mount a small piece of wood below the bracket to kind of brace or take some of the weight. Anyway. Keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks again!
I really enjoyed this video. I've installed several televisions over the years, but you still gave me some nice learning tips. Thank you for your time.

Yo dude, your video was very helpful. Although it seems relatively simple to do this, it was nice to have a bit of guidance so thanks! Could I have your input on how to mount my TV? I have a 37" LCD TV that weighs 40lbs I want to mount using a full motion TV mount that weighs 25lbs with a weight load of 150lbs. Its sockets are designed for studs from 15-21" but I have 12" centres on my studs meaning it would be 12 or 24. Would you recommend using the snap toggle bolt method in this video? Should I drill a wood plate into the 3 studs and mount my TV into that or is there a better option? Thanks

Appreciate you..
same... wonder how much he weighs though... I'm 220 and would never chance it lol. Surprised though how well those work, using just the drywall on the right side.
Toggle bolts hold the most weight with all the weight closest to the wall. An arm mount allows you to pull the tv away from the wall which puts the weight farther out. Too much leverage on the toggle bolts allowing them to fail and tv could come crashing down.
I didn't have to watch this video, I clicked to see why a guy was hanging off a TV mount but great job at detailing everything clearly. This video is on point
I've been reading through the comments and I cant believe everyone is cool with trusting toggle bolts to hold their TV on the wall. If the studs are too far apart why not fasten a 24" 1x4 between the studs and then fasten the wall mount to the 1x4. That seems more secure to me, plus it gives you that little extra space needed for the cables in the back without using spacers.
He's got two bolts going into the studs and two snap toggle bolts on the other side rated at 75lb per bolt. Just the two on the stud would probably hold a 100lb tv. So the other two will help and its not just drywall holding it up. Wood is a great idea and probably better but both would work just fine.
1 inch thick lumber seems lacking as well considering these mounts are meant to go much deeper into studs. 2 sheets of 3/4 plywood would probably be good. If you can't hit 2 studs it might be worth the time to tear down drywall and add some extra support. Or do 1 stud in the center with toggles on the sides.
Much obliged. Short, informative and straightforward video, with nice commentary. Haven't searched for it (god bless YT recommendations), but decided to watch it - because you never know when you might need the extra knowledge. =)
Very cool, you explain everything in detail. I installed a different kind of wall mount for a smaller 32" TV in my bedroom, mine was easier because it only installs to one stud behind the wall. Now I just have to find that item to hide the wire coming down from the TV...I didn't see a link in your description.
Helpful video my friend... I'm beast when it comes to wrenching on cars but every now n then I can use some help with indoor stuff.. my wife will be happy with her new TV in the bedroom!! Thx papa
Good technology in general. The fear is that the drywall will bend forward over time. I think those walls are not supposed to have any serious load on them.
epSos.de I had TVs mounted using toggle bolts for years but I would Not mount a heavier plasma tv or big tv on arm mount which adds more stress to wall. however if you have a chance to tag a stud that's the best bet.
I've seen people just use 'regular' anchors without going into any studs with disastrous results. Please remember that each toggle bolt used here holds 75 pounds (a total of 150 lb load capacity by using 2) and there are screws into the studs....but the TV only weighs 25 pounds. That TV will hang there for it's lifetime without failing, falling or shifting. Tampatec is correct about tightened the fasteners slowly and evenly to achieve their rated performance, and we should also check level throughout the process.
+nylotus you have studs but thicker drywall maybe weaken detection, AC outlets are usually attached to studs so look for ac outlet to right or left next to ac outlet box is a stud most likely.

So thank you so much for sharing this video I really hope I can get the job done.🤞
ok so you know the part where you insert that metal peice into the wall and once you do that the metal piece is flat against the wall on the other side? i'm talking about the part at 6:45. what if you want to remove it? can you take it out again or is it stuck inside the wall? so what if you wanted to cover up the hole or something after sometime?
Thanks a million. Had to hang a heavy mirror on drywall in my bathroom and found your video. Also now I know I can hang my 40"television on drywall. Again thanks.

Good video.. I am actually going to do same thing as you done i have stud to the right of wall between kitchen cabinets the other side will have to use wall anchors into the plaster being bracket wont reach to other side. Not sure the kind of anchors you was using i am use to using smaller plastic anchors bout 1/4" in drilling holes then lightly hitting them into the wall.

When I did one I just put a 1x4 across the studs since you won't see it being behind the TV.
DONNELL B. they have toggle bolts that go up almost 300lbs.
They have toggle bolts that go over 800 lbs.
Great job explaining the Snaptoggle Bolts. I had reservations until this video. Two thumbs up!
My walls have no studs! The stud finder worked at a friend's house but at my apartment there's nothing. Any suggestion/explanation??
+nylotus you have studs but thicker drywall maybe weaken detection, AC outlets are usually attached to studs so look for ac outlet to right or left next to ac outlet box is a stud most likely.
maybe it is a solid wall. Better!!

very informative people was telling me to use other things having me put holes in my wall because I have plaster walls so the snap toggle bolts are perfect for mounting my 50 inch flat screen thanks bro

Me too at 4:30am
Such a useful video I live in the UK and since I have mobility issues had to ask around for a professional to come hang my TV onto a stud wall. The cheapest quote I got from 5 different tradesmen was £90 ranging upto £120 I’m not sure if I’m just being tight but I refuse to pay that much money to complete what seems like a very quick and simple job.
Excellent demo. Makes it super easy. The extra comedy is a plus...Thank you
Thanks a million. Had to hang a heavy mirror on drywall in my bathroom and found your video. Also now I know I can hang my 40"television on drywall. Again thanks.
yvonne gathing cool, good job!
Thank you so much for this great step by step video. I just bought wall mount for my TV and I was really scared I was going to mess something up 😂😂😂😂. It turned out great. FYI I am now a new sunnies and thanks a million.👍
excellent video, this dude should have his own show
holy cow. thank you for the video. I would not not have tried hanging on the wall. Great demonstrations on the dry wall mount.
Great video I used AT&T mount before built into my glass tv stand screws were no long enough for my tv I had to but 6mm screws for the bracket to screw into the back of my tv
Good video.. I am actually going to do same thing as you done i have stud to the right of wall between kitchen cabinets the other side will have to use wall anchors into the plaster being bracket wont reach to other side.
Not sure the kind of anchors you was using i am use to using smaller plastic anchors bout 1/4" in drilling holes then lightly hitting them into the wall.
good job tampatec, nice to see people taking pride in their work.
cheers!
u introduced me to snap togglers & u r absolutely right. best thing since sliced bread. nice t-shirt.
