you actually dont need to take off the wheel to add the paddle shifters you can just remove the 2 bolts from each side and pull of the plastic trimming
very good video. just in depth enough and made sense. And do the paddles take time to work after you press them, in the video you said no but I couldn't really tell.
Thank you for the support! If I am in regular drive mode, not drive sport, I can tap either paddle to pop it into a temporary DS mode that lets me control gears until I either come to a stop or stop driving aggressively for about 15 secs. The paddles themselves make the transmission respond in about a half second from whenever I pull I'd say whether it's up or down and of course the downshifts apply a rev match as well. So it's not ferrari or lamborghini fast but it's faster than Lexus for sure lol Hope that answers your question

I’m about to order my paddles and was at peace with cutting out holes on my stock steering column trim piece, but I’d much rather get the proper one that fits the paddles
I’d recommend trying to source a pair on eBay that comes with the trim piece since ordering new can sometimes be pricey I couldn’t tell you for sure but I’ve heard some guys being unhappy with the way their steering column looked and fit after trimming so I’d definitely try to find the trim Here is a decent listing for a full set. I usually look for any scratches on the paddles mainly when I’m searching since that area is usually handled the most. They’re a specific kind of bolt I would look up a parts diagram for any S model Infiniti G37 automatic interior around the steering column and they’ll show you the bolt and part number Shouldn’t cost more than $10-15 shipped to order the bolts you need 👍
The transmission should be pretty responsive, but otherwise I suppose if you don't have maintenance records the only way to find out would be to see if someone can plug in and check to see if your software is up to date. You can also do a transmission reflash if you get an ecutek tune. It's one of their advertised features
@@JoseOrozco-se4fs the navigation package generally doesn’t dictate if the wheel has paddle connections or not. The best way to tell is to remove your steering surround and check for the two small plugs. Most G sedans have em but it’s always safe to double check
That statement is wrong. Every G35 from 2007 and G37 and up have the connectors for the pedals shifters. From 2007 and up, Infiniti offered the sport package for every G35, G37 has an option. That way you have some G37XS and some G37S which means that, that car have the sport package.
I wouldn’t have said what I said had I not done the research before doing these paddles and finding posts of guys saying they don’t have the pigtails and to check before ordering 👍
Every G35 from 2007 and up with an automatic transmission has the option for pedals shifters and it was an option for every buyers. ( Probably older versions too)
@@samuel0986what you’re saying makes sense in terms of production ease and cost on Nissans side but I am sharing that I found multiple people who said base models didn’t have the pre wiring or that their G didn’t have prewiring.
I did try to send you few links above what was all options for the G35/G37S plus few pictures of my modified G35X but UA-cam doesn't let me. For some reason the comments is gone. Just search on Google G35 sport package and you will find out all the information you need. G35 coup and G37 coup is exactly the same thing, G35 sedan and G37 sedan are exactly the same thing and all 4 versions share a lot in common including the pedals shifters.
@@samuel0986 I’m well aware of the similarities between the models and the shared parts and harness between model years due to the similar chassis, wiring and suspension components I’m just repeating what I found via research, which was that multiple people reported not being pre wired for paddles on their G37
