Yes, he's had classical training but followed that with a bachelor's degree in contemporary, a master's degree in composition and is about to complete his PhD this year.

Who is Dimash? Beginning his singing career at age 5, his range extends from the top of the bass register to the highest notes of the coloratura soprano and whistle register. His first digital music album "ID" went platinum in only 37 seconds after release, and 3x platinum in only one hour, and 5x platinum in only one day on Chinese music platforms In December 2019, he made his US debut in New York at the SOLD OUT Barclays Center. Dears (those he calls his fans) traveled from 68 different countries, 43 states & 2 US territories, and was sold out. At age five Dimash was accepted into the most distinguished music academy in his country. Now writing his Doctoral thesis for a PhD in Musicology/ Composing, received all his degrees with honors while simultaneously filling arenas and maintaining his performing career, a first! He has a bachelors degree in vocals, a master's degree in composition and is about to complete his PhD in musicology this year.

LOL!!! So you want more ? You have no idea what you have gotten yourself into. Welcome to the best vocalist alive today! Don't take it from me but from hundreds of vocal specialists around the world. Dimash is a consummate singer and performer, he never disappoints and is full of surprises. Prepare yourself to be astonished over and over again. You will also learn with time that besides being an incredible artist, Dimash is an exceptional human being.
Btw, he crosses every genre from Opera to Rap and the only thing you can take for granted is that he will surprise you in every single song. His Kazakh folk songs hit straight to the heart. His latest song Weekend was yet another trip into a new style being a dance track that has taken the summer festivals by storm.
I would really recommend listening to Ikanaide, sung in Japanese, Samaltau and Durdaraz, sung in Kazakh, Stranger and Your Love, sung in English.
Most people will direct you to his older high octane songs but to get an idea of the full gamut he covers, you need to listen to some of his beautiful midrange work too, plus his OSTs he's done for movies and video games, his pop work and his beautiful Kazakh folk songs.

He has many other lalents that are not seen in this video but the more you react you will see some amazing things from DIMASH. Same here! By some divinely orchestrated fluke I was led to check out a Dimash video that just popped up on UA-cam while I was listening to another artist. The way I found to celebrate the majesty of Dimash's talent was to have written the following about him: If I were to rule the world, I would immediately add, to the universal declaration of human rights, another article (they would become 31) whose wording would next "All human beings have the right, at least once in their lives, to hear Dimash sing". I am a Professor and I believe that I have a special profession that allows me to transform the human heart and consequently the human society. I work with young people and young people need to have good references. I had been looking for someone for a long time, of whom I could speak to the young people I work with, as a good reference. That person should be young, a super talent, a super mega star in the art world and above all, because he is the most important, a good human person. I searched and never found anyone with these characteristics. Until, finally, I found this person and that person is Dimash. I had the opportunity to say this to Dimash, personally, when I was with him in Latvia where I went, coming from Portugal (there are 8000 km round trip), on the 7th of March 2020. SOS is sung in French and is from a 1978 rock opera called Starmania. Since he performs in so many different languages it's always a good idea to put subtitles or closed captions on so that you can understand the lyrics and how he interprets them.
Dimash Qudaibergen (di-MOSH Koo-dye-BEHR-gen) is a talented artist from Kazakhstan who began his formal training at the age of 5. He is professionally trained in opera, contemporary music, and musical theater. His diverse discography includes genres such as pop, R&B, EDM, rock, folk/traditional, neo-classical, opera, and even rap and hip-hop with a vocal range of 7+ octaves: C1-D8(which doesn't exist on a standard 88-key piano).
Qudaibergen has performed songs in 15 languages and is fluent in Russian and Kazakh while also possessing some proficiency in English and Chinese. A multi-instrumentalist, composer, songwriter, producer, director, and actor, he owns a production company called Dimashali Creative Center. Dimash is unbelievable! He sings in every genre. He sings in at least 13 different languages. He plays at least 7 different instruments. He can sing very low and very high. Olimpico is a good song to hear highs and lows. His highest note is off the keyboard. You can hear that in a song called “Unforgettable Day” at Gakku. He even raps! Look at Dimash’s official video called, “Be with Me” for rapping ability. I can tell you that every song suggestion you get is going to be a great suggestion so take your pick. Dimash has loyal fans all over the world he calls his “Dears.” I’m a 67 year old Dear and my preferred genre is R&B but I love me some Dimash! 😄.

This song is in French, and is from a French rock opera called "Star Mania." It is considered Dimash's signature song. It was the first song he performed on the Chinese competition show, Singer 2017. He was the first foreigner and the youngest singer in the history of the show, and blew the audience, and the world away performing this song. He was 22 when he appeared, and none of the other performers knew anything about him, not even what he looked like. It is interesting to watch his performances on that show. His first four songs were in French, Russian, English, and Mandarin, with only one week to learn them. The day after his first appearance, he had over 6 million followers on Weibo, China's version of Instagram, and had to be provided with security guards. Plus, you may never find anyone more humble, kind, and caring than Dimash.
This was created during the pandemic. He has a complete digital concert. This is in French. He is from Kazakhstan, so his native language is Kazakh. He is fluent in Russian, speaks English well and is learning Mandarin. He sings in 13 languages, including Alien (Diva Dance from the 5th Element). He plays 7 instruments and is currently working on his PhD in Composition. He has had extensive training, but cannot be boxed into one genre. You need to watch the one with English subtitles. S.o.s. is beautiful and heartbreaking. I get emotional every time I hear him sing this. He puts so much passion into it. Greetings from America!!! Yes, Dimash is classically trained. He is from Kazakhstan. He began his music studies at the age of five, spending half days with academics and half with music. His piano teacher found that he had perfect pitch when he was three. Even now, he still does vocal training for 3-5 hrs. a day every day. He said sometimes more when a concert is upcoming. Anything you choose to hear next will never disappoint. Some suggestions from me would be Adagio, Sinful Passion, Your Love, Stranger, Love Is Like A Dream, The Show Must Go On, and from his performance on "The Singer 2017, All By Myself, and "Unforgettable Day.
