I used to absolutely adore the synth string intro to "Outdoor theme 1" and transcribed it for piano (but of course it doesn't work as well -- the super slow attack is really important). Great OST.
It's pretty accurate. The music sounded beautiful when it sounded: instruments tended to overlap each other and the reproduction was a bit flaky as you put in here. Funny enough the game did not support MT32 or General Midi but it supported Gravis Ultrasound.
That's awesome! I second the accuracy. According to my 486 IBM-compatible HP (with an FM Sound Blaster) it sounds pretty spot on. I may record the output and post it. I guess I can simply turn the sound effects all the way down (unless IIRC it acts as a master volume). Anyone know how to extract the MIDI files from the game? I have some but IDK if they are original source.

Outdoor Theme 1 is probably the most beautiful. Was looking for specifically this track... Dungeon Master both I and II is a masterpiece.

What about cd audio, is that upload from the sega cd version only?
Yes. The Sega CD soundtrack is pretty good, but completely different.
