The laptop that I had played this game (NOT finished, as I had little time 2 years ago) actually stuttered. By emulating a DOS game. A laptop from 2011, and not a specifically weak one from then, too! I wish I could get to play this on actual hardware that it was supposed to run on, so I could get the best experience, but for now, at least, I won't be doing that.
While I do agree with you, back when this game launched, 3d was an impressive thing. I can't think of a 3d game that has aged really well from back then, but no-matter the time you play this game at, there is no reason to compare it to modern games, as it would obviously lose in most things, except maybe the story, which I can't really tell much, as I haven't finished this game, and maybe the music, which depending on the soundcard used, can sound beautiful by modern standards. (Not that the game's music doesn't sound good no-matter what, just that many people don't like the sound of these old sound cards)
This Soundtrack creates an atmosphere that the rest of the saga fails to match. In my opinion, i love the essence of mistery and magic that Arena had. Trully unique, buggy and messy, but unique and exotic.

I’ve been listening to dungeon synth over the past couple months. I always imagined the genre having a specific sound but I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. I couldn’t find the sound that I was looking for. Then I remembered the soundtrack to this game from when I played it when I was young. This is everything that dungeon synth should be. I wish more people tried to emulate this sound but it would be really hard to do. It’s actually pretty detailed and complex imo.
I don't know why but I love 13: A Warm Welcome. It just fills me with such energy and joy. I think think this is second only to Morrowind's Nerevar Rising theme to me.

Even though I never played it, listening to this I feel it. I feel the age, I feel the time, early time, before what is now, what we play now. I love it.

From my experience, my version of Daggerfall doesn't have different music than the soundtracks others have already posted online. I uploaded Arena because I couldn't find anything similar to what I heard when I played it. Much of what you hear in Arena was used in Daggerfall anyways, just at a higher resolution.
Unfortunately, I'm not exaclty sure how to do that. I recorded this audio using audacity straight from the gameplay and edited it in Adobe Audition. You can find the midi files pretty easily online, but they'll be under generic names and sound more like other uploads on youtube. As far as making thr midi files sound EXACLTY like they do in my dosbox, I'm not sure.

The track names are all custom since the original files only included basic labels. Both "The Wandering Inn" and "A Warm Welcome" are the only Tavern themes I encountered with the older music software.

On the instalation, we can choose the audio driver we want to run (emulated): Sound Blaster cards, MIDI, etc. You just run in standard configs? Because my game don't soud as good as yours. But, I've learn how to change settings of the game in DOSBOX :D. I think I can handle now. Thanks!
Just beat this game a few days ago. It feels amazing to be a part of gaming history, but by all accounts, this game is garbage. It did not age well at all. That being said, I actually prefer this game's control scheme to Daggerfall for some reason😂
Daggerfall's controls were way more customizable and way ahead of their time, adding the ability to point the first person camera by moving your mouse (though it is not the default setting). This is now the standard in first person games.
I recorded this through my computer audio on Audacity while running the game in DOSBOX so I think the heavier bass is just due to my audio settings. I've noticed the bass is pretty strong in my other track recordings as well.

What you call "low resolution" seems to be the Adlib version of the soundtrack, it's the alternative to MIDI

The "8-bit" sound that he had written in the description was never actually meant to be 8-bit, but it was meant to be 16-bit.

These names are all made up by myself. There is no official album or tracklist and the song files had bland names so I added them in.
