Definitely a warm one by the looks of it and I feel for ya dealing with those bugs for sure! On hot days at least for myself, I try not to wear dark color shirts, tend to wear lighter colours to stay cooler, that and water is my friend :). Thanks for sharing! Cheers!
I have an old top handle Homelite saw with a 12” bar. Sure makes it easier on you than slinging a big saw. They make some good modern saws too that are small and lighter.
Stay hydrated, when I work all day in the heat like that I bring my five gallon water cooler. I fill it only half with water and then add a large piece of ice, I use a salad bowl to make a block that just barely fits my cooler, throw a couple of Gatorades on top of the ice and your in business.
when I bought my woodchipper, I was like... "man that will make branches disapear in no time"... but i didnt thought about How the branches were going into the chipper... yup i'ts a hard work, lot of bending, pulling... not easy, im at the point of thinking about selling it and burning the branches instead. I really enjoy the chips tho!!...
Blow downs and clean up, life doesn’t get much easier after a tornado, for me getting the big stuff out of the way first with the grapple bucket, then the branches, piling them up for the chipper, that way im not climbing over the logs. Heat and hard work, makes for a good night’s sleep.
That is what I do when I open up a new clearing for hunting, I fall all the trees in one direction so they are easy to push together in a pile. I have no grapple but I do have forks and it works just fine, then I let the pile sit till there is a foot of snow on the ground and with the help of a little diesel and a leaf blower I have myself a good ole bonfire in the winter.
My problem here in central Texas is there is a burn ban so much of the year. I have had a couple of fires get away to the point I had to call the fire department in. I could use the mulch on a lot of my rocky bare land.

I agree with ya there. My very first saw was a homelite! Thing ripped
Wood chipper nice. Pine sucks to cut, too many branches. So far looking good

I went bear hunting in Ontario many years ago in May. It was hotter than blazes and between the mosquitoes and black flies....Wow
Yeah sure is a pain in the neck this time of year
Do you have a place where you could burn a lot of the trees and brush? That would seem to take care of the problem a lot faster.

I think you’re right. Chipping is going to take a long time. I’m going to see if I can pile it up this time and burn some of it.
Think that’s the way to go this time around
