8:05 “I don’t know where all these punctures are coming from…” Welsh karma, particularly considering it also rained. Jokes apart, amazing video as ever.
Well done Maddy, Mexico looks amazing. I rode Glorious Gravel Galloway(try saying that fast) last weekend, hail and serious downpours for 4 hours, you were better off in Mexico than the uk. Great result once again and really good video content, loved it 😁🚴💥
Such a lovely travelogue - ambassadorial, linguistic, cultural citizenship of the world and very ‘bad ass’ gravel riding..( obvs food - thin on coffee content though) ..
Great video Maddy. Always worth keeping going as you never know what adverse situations other riders will end up in. It ain’t over till it’s over. Also, another shining example of your refreshing attitude to reframing and still getting the most from the experience. You’re a fantastic athlete for younger riders to look up to. You really appeared to capture the feel and vibrancy of the culture too. Really enjoyed watching☺️
Nice spot of mountain biking right at the end there. =) Great video Maddy, Wales or Mexico - seems like an easy question to answer especially if someone else is going to pay some of the bill! Especially loved the vibrant colours of the buildings, what a long way to go for an exciting bike ride!
Grinduro or Mexico... Correct choice. 😂 Been to Mexico twice but just as a beach holiday traveller, the country and people are lovely though. Great racing too. 👌
Well done Maddy, not a bad result considering it was a “training run” 😂😂😂😂 Having watched your vlog (twice!) Mexico 🇲🇽 is on my to do list…… thank you.
Topo Chico is a Place in Monterrey, Nuevo León in which there is a Mountain called "Cerro del Topo Chico" where there is a Spring water. Hope you can hit BWR Mexico in November, will be awesome to meet you. FInally Congratulations, you were tagged #2 but you Reach a Plus One
Apparently different plants? And the mezcal plants were all over the course ahah. There were shots of mezcal as you crossed the finish line. true spirit of gravel 🤣
@@maddynutt A quick search says that mescal is made with agave, and tequila is made specifically with blue agave. Historically, tequila was a distinctive mescal from the region around the city of Tequila. Yes, it’s very considerate to have a recovery shot of mescal ready for riders at the finish!
@@maddynutt I speak Spanish and here in the states so easy to stick to English and not use it enough. But I try to use it every opportunity I get. You’re very good. Stick with it. Not to mention you’re riding. Ahhh to be young and fast :) cheers!
Your Spanish is not incorrect when you say "lima". What you pointed at is the fruit of the "limero" tree, which is green and smaller than its larger and yellow counterpart, the "limón", which is the fruit of the "limonero" tree. If they correct you, it's only because the names are mixed and some times reversed depending on where you are and what the most common variety is locally. The names "limón verde" and "limón amarillo" are used too, and the names of the trees may also change from region to region.
Ahaha we had a bit of debate. Apparently the limón verde is shortened to limón a lot, and because they barely touch lemons, limón just automatically goes to lime! I didn't realise there were so many differences in vocab. Had quite a few moments where I said something people didn't recognise or I didn't recognise a word!
congratulations maddy! 😍what a beautiful gravel roads!
What a great adventure - a lesson for us all in 'never give up' in gravel racing!
Definitely :) Never giving up again aha!

Purple Gravel, 50Gal Podium and another monster ride! Chapeau !!!
congrats maddy, amazing result and such perseverance ! your spanish accent👌
Thank you! Aha it definitely isn't a mexican accent that's for sure.
Well done, check points/feed stations that offer you beers 😄 I like the sound of Mexico already!
Again, just a beautiful film. It’s not the race, it’s the experience. ❤️🚴🏻♂️
Definitely agree! Made the most of this whole trip for sure :)
@@maddynutt Thank you for taking the time to reply. Keep doing it exactly like this. Xx
That was just an absolute joy to watch. You're making this hardened roadie think about getting a gravel bike! 😂
Imagine the adventures in Surrey...
Exactly my thoughts!

@@maddynutt well thats the big difference between road and gravel, so much more can and does go wrong when riding 'off-road'.

I did, but then also as part of my degree
The infamous goat head thorns!
