I am biased as I am a Kiwi but he is such an amazing person and was, and still is, an incredible role model for so many young New Zealanders. He was targeted by so many competitors especially Quade Cooper, ironically playing for Australia buy a NZer. He was offered a Knighthood but declined it.

To think we were blessed with having the quality of Marty Holah and Sam Cane waiting on the sideline to play at loose forward. Plus names you haven't heard of because a twist of fate yet who were also quality.

The AB S&C coach said it in an interview. He was talking about the freak athletes in the team and Mccaw wasn't near any of them physically. But what he did have was a massive engine. So by 80mins his levels wouldn't have dropped and they'd now be higher than the freaks who were all fatigued.
Credit where its due, he was a phenomenal player and part of a historic great team. The title of greatest team ever may be challenged in a few years, if Rassie can pull off another miracle. For sure, in my lifetime, he was the greatest AB. To be fair, there were a number of times where he got away with things, but at the end of the day, the refs are human - its part of the game

Why you would compare Richie to Johah Lomu is beyond me. Zinzan Brooke and Dan Carter were giants, yes. Johah was only good going forward, due to his size, mediocre otherwise.
