My favorite detail you tend to forget about is that this fight is in no way shape or form important to Links adventure, it’s a personal battle that exists solely because Link wanted revenge for Aryl, and yeah, after getting cheated out by the bird twice, it feels really good to crush his skull in with a giant ass hammer
I love how in this bossfight you are at the top of the Forsaken Fortress. You remember what this bird did to Link's sister and it's time to finish that bird for revenge! The buildup to the boss was also cool too :)
Dude, this fight was absolutely personal. You stole my sister from her home, you tossed me away like a rag doll when I came to save her, I will smash that skull of yours
@@chaudspieler Makes sense why you would think that. If I recall correctly, the Helmaroc King was one of Ganondorf's minions. This was such a good fight!
One of the most badass bosses and boss themes in the entire game!!!! He's on par with Volvagia from Ocarina Of Time and is just as fun of a boss to fight and defeat. I only wish bosses like King Helmaroc The Demon Bird were used in Zelda games.
In twilight princess there's another boss that comes from kargaroks as well, the Argorok in the city in the sky. However, Kargaroks in this game resemble more dragons than birds
This bird learned that no matter how small someone is, if you take the thing they love the most, they WILL hunt you down until either they die, or you die.
To me it always sounds like the theme draws parallels to the ocean theme, even if just remotely: The rhythm, and the majestic but distant trumpet at 0:42 giving a nod to the trumpets of the ocean theme while the music rides the high notes in that section. Almost daydream like, as if that bird is the only thing left standing in your way to freedom - only to give you the wake up call at 0:55 again. Love it.
I randomly had this theme come to mind, but didn't remember the name until now lol. First I remembered that it came from Wind Waker and that it was a boss
@@markheying2830 After doing some research I found that the skull hammer does actually do more damage than the master sword. However it's also important to note that the master sword attack speed is much more than the skull hammer. There's also attack modifiers like jump attacks and spin attacks, but I'm unsure if those effect all weapons.
Sounds like a Breaking News theme that you'll hear on tv....... THIS JUST IN: A HUGE GIANT BIRD IS KIDNAPPING CHILDREN INTO THE SKY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😨😱 🤓🎤
We're coming to you live from the forsaken fortress, where a young boy is currently engaged in a fight to the death with the bird. We have spotlights on the scene.

Hell yeah brother
Technically you needed to do it to get to gambledork

I thought this was the semi final boss battle at first! It was EPIC!!

King Helmaroc the Demon Bird??? What????
they should have had this boss appear in totk
I wish Nintendo would use the helmaroc king in more Zelda games
Hes used in Four Swords Adventures as well.

Imagine what this thing would look like if it gets brought back in botw 2
I hope so tho
that would be such an epic surprise
the best music ;D
Thanks for reuploading this gem
I like how the spotlights are all pointing at the bird while it's trying to fight you
Part of the reason why Helmaroc King's death animation is so satisfying is how overly dramatic it is.

I'll never forget the moment I finished off this fiend with a jumping hammer slam!
JUSTICE DELIVERED!!!!!! 😆😆😆
Smashed it with a hamma, am I right?
You can also use the master sword after his mask is broken off, which is pretty cool.
@@grewlife2366, well yeah, but I just preferred to keep smashing its head in! There’s no feeling that’s more satisfying, I tell ya!

I can't recall one boss theme more epic than this other than the Ganondorf boss fight
Molgera?
Gohdan's theme is great too
Sounds kinda like Xenogears for PS1 battle music lol. Love it!
Thx for the vid. Love this boss Theme.
After kidnapping Link's sister and yeeting us halfway across the ocean, it was very satisfying smacking this bird across the head with a hammer.

yeah but link murdered the helmarock king in wind walker, the first and last time it was used

I think it was also in hyrule warriors legends, and hyrule warriors definitive edition.
