"You make me feel like my troubled heart is a million miles away" is by far my favorite line.
I'm a 28 year old guy from the US. Played Pokemon since I was probably 8 or 9, spent a ton of time on it. The series was always with me, even into adulthood (though I took intermittent breaks periodically). Went through a lot of family issues growing up, music (playing guitar, bass, etc.) and video games is what I normally leaned on to escape most of it. Like most people, I grew very attached to the series, and harbor a ton of nostalgia for it. As an adult, I still play when I have time. A lot of people I've known never understood why I stick with Pokemon even as a grown man. They don't understand.
The series and my music is what got me through the hard times growing up, and I could never give them up.
The fact that this emotion and nostalgia that I've had is realized in this song- and literally what has been on my heart for so long being shared with the world in such a well executed song and production is just unreal. I cry everytime I listen to this song. I'm crying writing this comment.

As an introverted kid who didn't have friends at the time, Pokémon still made my childhood worth remembering, and to this day I occasionally play one of the many games, at 28. This songs means a lot to me. I was imagining all those Pokémon next to me as a kid too and seeing the Mewtwo movie scene really opened a Pandora box of childhood memories. I got emotional, thank you Ed.

Lots of people here due to Scarlet/Violet, this song fits the game's storyline really well.. I got Scarlet and the ending honestly made me emotional because of the loss I have faced in my life. This song is a resounding resolution to the series and how it has been the backbone to many people who grew up with the series.
Also. Back when Pokemon was in its hayday (the mid and late 90s) they had a lot of very popular artists create songs for the movie soundtracks (they still hit). Honestly I'm really happy to see this part of Pokemon back, sorely missed and glad it was put to a game this time around.
I feel you. I cried because I could never imagine going through something like that and just thinking about it made me break down. I know one day that I might have to go through this. My condolences to you.

I beat Pokemon Violet yesterday (after not playing for 5 months because of burnout) to cope with massive amounts of depression and anxiety (friends moving away, struggling to adapt to adult life, work, etc.) and when this song came on in the credits, I kid you not tears started welling in my eyes. It’s nice to feel genuine emotion and happiness every now and then. Thank you, Ed Sheeran.

I was playing Pokémon since 13. I was in a dark place. My mind broke and I got a Pokémon Yellow. It seem like a light shown through the fog. It was my first Pokémon game and my first gameboy. I played it for half an hour. It was a very sad Christmas but the happiest to me. So, I still have my first Pokémon game. I could never sell it. Pokémon became a very sentimental thing to me.

This is an amazing song. I'm 29 and Pokemon Ruby was the first game that I played way back when I was a timid 12 year old. Played Sapphire, Emerald, Heart Gold, Fire Red and Diamond after that through most of high school and college. Pokemon got me through a lot of hard times in life. Words can not express the emotions I felt while listening to this. For a brief second, I was brought back to a time when I used to imagine Pokémon were everywhere. I wished so much as a kid that they were real. These games were the foundation of my childhood, watching and playing these games helped me escape to a reality much better than the one I lived. This song helped me relived that time when Pokémon was still new and exciting. I'm nearly 30 and Pokémon will always have a special place in my heart till the day I die. I mean, yeah true although I think Mihoyo or Square/Disney were some of the early ones to get actual popular singers to sing for their game’s songs. Like Sanctuary, face my fears had Hikaru Utada. For Mihoyo with honkai impact 3 they had many singers for multiple songs. Some big ones they had was Zhou Shen for the song Rubia, and Ayanga sang Regression.

This was probably my favorite Musical Artist x Pokemon collab yet. Really made me realize and appreciate how much I really love Pokemon, how much it helped me and made my “troubled heart feel a million miles away”. Just finished my playthrough of Scarlet and this song hit like a truck right in the feels! The story in this game was so good and the friends we made along the way made it all come together so nicely at the end, and hearing this song play during the credits legit made me cry

I think when Ed becomes a self insert is just so reflective of what Pokémon is and has been for a lot of us. And just with these fantastic stories in general. We’ve all had these amazing scenarios where we imagine walking through town with Pokémon, imagining ourselves playing and having fun with our favorites and getting lost in our childish daydreams. It’s an escape from the intensities of the real world, and watching this is just so nostalgic of it. It warms my heart.
