We are the proud owners of this vehicle! Took delivery November 3rd, 2021. Videos and pictures do not do this vehicle justice, it looks so amazing in person and the blizzard pearl white is the perfect colour choice. We couldn't be more happy. 10 years from now the XSE will still look amazing!!
How does it drive?

i actually love the large backside of the highlander. im an artist and when i had a van i was able to travel and sit in the back with the seats down and draw in nature when its cold. so ive been searching for an affordable suv with a large cargo space. for this price point the highlander seems to be it.
Picked this up for my wife two weeks ago. Her’s has the red leather interior, roof racks, lights in the door sills and rubber mats throughout. She lives it!

@@ociabi when it’s on normal it drives like a Camry but when you change it to sport or manual it picks up fast the most thing I love about it is when you have the windows up you don’t hear anything
I liked the Highlander in 2014-2019
But now I LOVE IT
Drove it today. For me there was a noticeable improvement in handling, less body roll, thigh tear steering. The throttle seemed more aggressive. I really liked it. I do not prefer the garish front end over the other trims however.

Toyota’s 3.5L v6 is quite simply a peach of an engine. So quiet and so smooth
Thank you for mentioning that this vehicle has Direct & Port injection (I love Toyota for that), i believe thats a HUGE long term benefit over vehicles that are DI only.
Long term reliability wise this should be excellent

I think it looks pretty darn good. I’ve seen photos that you can get the red leather interior which is pretty cool on a 3-row SUV. Those wheels look so similar to the XSE Camry wheels.

Trust me... The turning angles are exactly the same as a Rav4.... Only parking needs a few more inches ok... Don't be scared this truck will not let you down... Just turn slowly and don't rush...its a POWERFUL car🙏
@@yogibear4238 this was my first time driving an SUV 😭 I had it as a rental for a couple of weeks and I drive a Chevy impala, so this was a big difference lol. I really liked the SUV though

How did it rideb
Excellent, handled well in very heavy rain coming from Atlanta Georgia. Also great on gas.
My only wish is that it had panoramic roof... And roof rack to place a storage bin for extra space for that trip.
Do you notice any harsh or clunky shifting (especially in lower gears)?

The engine sounds nice! It looks like the power is adequate, and the handling is not bad at all! I tried to pass one in a BMW440i on the highway, and I couldn't pass it as quickly as I pass a lot of other vehicles.
Just purchased mine in the blizzard pearl white with the black interior,Awd and loving everything about including gas milage but upper trim and Awd will push it up to 48,000 range
This front end is waaaay better than the other Highlander. The black one is the KING. Every vehicle has one color that outshines the rest. IMO with this vehicle BLACK is the ONLY way to go!!! They should have put the dual pipes on both sides of the vehicle instead of together. That is my ONLY complaint about this vehicle.

Only thing that turns me off about this trim is that small screen and the fact that they didn’t show the engine some love in this trim. At least a 302hp like the Camry would have been nice🙄🙄
I just picked up mine on Monday 4/26/21. I have the cockpit red inside with an all black outside...
I got a 2019 highlander and I thought I'd keep it for 10 years. But w this new models r so nice looking !
I got a 2018 Camry SE and seeing these new models of Camry, Avalon , Rav and highlander. Definitely makes me want to buy a 2021 vehicle lol
LOVE the Blizzard Pearl White, I own a 2012 Highlander Limited in the same color. Doesnt show dirt like plain white. Maybe in a few yrs can upgrade to a newer model, but will never pay $43000 for new. Beautiful car💗

I will pay new because if you see how people destroy their cars today. Then put them on the used car market. Your buying someone else’s problems. Then the people who buy these used cars with problems then blame the Auto Manufacturer for the previous owners abuse
An unfortunate misstep with this model, that I noticed thankfully before purchase was no front and rear parking sensors... it’s a 47k car , how is that possible? They have emergency brake assist. Pedestrian brake assist. But not parking sensors, too bad because I really think the body style improvements is great, along with suspension. Also an omission to upgrade to the larger media or moonroof. I saw this as a limited sport but it’s more of an XLE. Most definetly on the right path but went with a Platinum.
The Highlander would be my choice if they weren’t so long. Or maybe if they added some height to make up for the length but they’re staring to look closer to station wagons.
Yup..!! It looks like a mini van to me and Im not a fan of it..!! Now I would add a lift and tires and change the front end to make it more aggressive..
Did you try running on 100km/hr or up.. ? coz i heard lots of noise like winds blowing i feel the tires too..
Toyota had eventually gotten me to love Highlander with this model.
Me too, picked up a platinum after al these videos. 5k later and a phone call from them checking on me again made me realize, I’m GLAD WE LEFT LEXUS!
I just purchased one of these. I wanted Blizzard Pearl, but color was hard to come by and settled for Celestial Silver. I traded in my Explorer Sport, which I was in love with. This is nice, though, and it is growing on me for sure.
@@jonesaaron62 You left Lexus for it? What Lexus exactly because I know that Lexus is way better than direct Toyota. At least it is more luxurious.
@@sethsamuel6357 I tested 2 Lexus between 140 to 160k miles used and both leaked oil. The salesman was test driving with me. I told him I smelled oil. He closed the vents and said it was the other cars driving next to us or the oil on the road. I stopped, and looking underneath I saw the engine soiled in oil. Salesman acted surprised.

i liked what we gave up to get this instead of platinum or limited, since none of those were spec'ed out just the way i wanted. thought i would miss the nav, which was a required feature. but i like the car/auto play stuff, first time ever using it. only thing, though, is i REALLY wish it supported wireless car/auto play. i'd take that over built in nav any day.

This is nice. I wish it had more of the Limited trim's features though.
If it had the heads up display and panoramic moonroof, this would be perfect. And since I'm really dreaming, the adaptive headlights and the 12.3 inch display would also be nice.
I also wish it had the same red gauges as the Camry xse
I prefer that the lines don't move on the rear camera. It's so much easier.

The Pilot is so bland looking...
Only edge that the pilot has is a bit more leg room in the 3rd row.
and the pilot still has a timing belt, an expensive maintenance factor
How much does it cost?
For the XSE, Toyota should have eliminated the third row. There are 7 Highlander choices to choose from. Eliminating the XSE's third row would, IMO, bring some Telluride & Palisade buyers over.
Why exactly? The telluride and palisade have more space inside...

Hi Nolan, do you know if front and rear parking sensors can be added on?
I doubt it. Because in the upper trims the parking sensors do more than beep at you. The parking sensors also have automatic braking
Wish this XSE has the option for 8 passengers.

Which iis more solid and tough, this highlander or the new kia sorento 2021?
I haven’t been able to check out the 2021 Sorento yet so I’m not sure. Toyota will most likely hold its value better. But that and reliability won’t be known for a while
I'm also interested in purchasing the 4Runner SR5 Premium. What do you think?
They’re very different from each other...depends if you want more creature comforts and car like ride or the utility and ruggedness if the 4Runner. I love the 4Runner and it’s durability, just stinks how inefficient it is. Some people say it has a bad ride cuz it rides more like a truck but i think it’s very comfortable.

I still think the 2005 to 2007 were the best Highlanders!!...The size was perfect and not it was cute boxy shape. Honestly , the 3rd row is useless and Toyota should remove it completely. I gave my 2007 to my son which he still drives and it was a great car. I have been driving a 2015 Volvo XC60 with over 70,000 miles now and love it to death....its a very safe car with the best seat in the world. I can drive my Volvo for over 8 hours and never get back ache.

I love all the other generation Highlanders the Especially the 2012 model A blend of family and truck but the new one seems too long and the wheels from front to back look to close to each other But the interior I can’t complain

Dang I’m sorry about that! It was stiffer than usual but not as bad as the video looks. The roads in that area are more broken up than where I usually drive. Sorry!

Most new vehicles yes, it’s part of the government regulations to improve fuel economy. It can be disabled but it will always revert back to being “on”

Toyota's seats don't have enough cushion. I have found Honda makes way better comfy seats!

The XSE Camry actually looks great. It has full led everything, and the top end features combined w the red interior and it has more style inside

I can't believe Toyota still uses a prop rod on the Highlander. This is high priced, high end vehicle. Prop rods are for cheaper cars.
Less things to fail. My 2002 Ford F-150 had hydraulic hood struts and they failed. It was a pain to prop up the hood with a wooden dowel as well as praying it doesn’t get knocked over smashing your head in.

Electric vehicles are just better. No noise, no emissions, less fuel costs, less maintenance costs.
Gasoline and diesel are OLD polluting technology. So last century.
Electric cars, electric trucks, electric buses, electric trash haulers, electric snow blowers, electric lawn mowers, electric snow mobiles, electric water craft, electric garden tools, electric mechanic tools, electric motor cycles, electric bicycles, electric scooters, electric farm tractors, electric construction equipment, electric delivery vehicles, ...... everything is going electric. No worries about starting after sitting for a few months. Gas always needs repairs.
