And light side with dark side can be creative together. There could be Rey and Kylo both tempted by Snoke and both teached by Luke. Luke would teach them the balance while Snoke would tempt them to fight. One day they would have forcechild and kill Snoke but the Snokes force ghost would try to posses the child body. Anakin was chosen one but he did not reached his full potential to practice ballance. I would have shot every gun I had upon entering the system, unleashed 75% Tie fighters under this cover fire with the rest in reserve, and had the dreadnought shoot the raddus. Hux is the best villain in the force awakens. Why change him? At least it was funny, but there are endless officers to mock, why choose hux?
@OVOD.net None of those arguments make me sympathetic. Peace, stability, & loyalty to your species can be good or bad. I like Hux in this scene BECAUSE he's crying with joy at the sight of Starkiller Base firing knowing that it is going to destroy Hosnian Prime. It makes him a good villain to me.
duuuuuude- for all the crap this trilogy did wrong, this scene was genuinely captivating and heartbreaking. Amazing acting and I love that here u actually see people terrified as they literally get incinerated, felt way more impactful than the simple stock footage "boom" of the original. This was when the story had potential. You can see it here in this speech, and the emotions you get from it. It really is ashame that the three part series was ruined due to multiple directors and not having a clear vision from the start.
I personally blame iran johnson he is the only one to blame for it he ruined star wars and is just the definition of greedy money maker at least in abrams put some heart and passion into it

This is one of the moments in the sequel trilogy that worked really, really well. Not only did we get a raging, powerful, nigh tear-jerking speech from General Hux, not only do we get a masterful and dramatic display of how the new ultimate weapon works...but we actually get to see the billions of voices crying out in terror, before being suddenly silenced. It builds upon s concept introduced in the OT instead of merely paying cheap lip service to it.
Literally he straight up had the potential to be way way better than both Tarkin and Thwran combinated but yeah of course Disney and Johnson got to fuck everything up. He was still the Goat in TFA tho.
I don’t care what anyone says, I would have loved to had seen more of General Hux. He seemed like a cool as villain I would have loved to seen fleshed out more.
Sarkastik Leader Here's what I'd do for episode 9. Kylo Ren commits some of the greatest atrocities, but in doing so let's his emotions take over leading to massive military defeats. General Hux, sick of being put down uses his wits to out Kylo in some sort of trap. Then, the only hope Kylo has to save him is Rey.
Jeremy Newcombe hopefully they make Hux the next supreme leader instead of kylo ren because if you have seen the last Jedi you will understand how stupid kylo ren is as a character which is kinda upsetting how they make the villains brain dead but I guess that’s just Disney
SPOILER: they ruined his character in TLJ. They made a literal joke out of him. He’s nothing more than comedic relief now, which is a shame. He was more evil than Kylo Ren in TFA because he was never conflicted
TheZiver You can tell on Hux's face at the end of the movie that he really hates the idea of working for Kylo Ren. I suspect that he'll try some kind of coup in Episode IX.
Sarkastik Leader there is a scene in episode 8 where Kylo Ren is knocked out and Hux pulls out his blaster over his body but just then Kylo wakes up. That is probably setting something up great for his character in episode 9.
@@Spiralredd Yeah, but the rise of Skywalker is still by far the worst of the three, as it cancels a lot of what happened in the previous two movies, for no reason at all. Even the great han solo scene isn't worth it, especially since it was in the other scripts too

@@Spiralredd Palpatine wasn't supposed to be back though, the plan was to have kylo be the "ultimate sith" which does make it more original, as it isn't a weak mind being manipulated by evil, but a person determined to seek the dark side, no matter the cost to him.

I walked out of TFA that night really liking the General Hux character. Was so intense, evil, and unforgiving. Rian Johnson turned him into a fucking joke.
Its really disappointing because I'm pretty sure Rian Johnson was known for being a good director in other films before last Jedi, but Kathleen probably had something to do with the overall story anyways so at the end of the day it was probably gonna be kind bad either way.
@@deletoblue2041 I was expecting Rian to repair the loopholes of TFA after all Rian is known for good films like looper but episode 8 was a series killer and looks like Kathleen had a lot of interference in it by adding the feminism crap
@@deletoblue2041 its seems like there was a massive failure of communication on everyone's part and how things were intended to flow. Not to mention, Rian only had the script and dailies from TFA to go off of when he wrote the script for TLJ. Not to mention, he had to go straight into filming a month after TFA came out into theaters.
Silly to make him a spy but given the events of the last Jedi it was clear he just needed kylo Ren to finally fall. And the resistance having the upper hand was the only way to do that
SPOILERS: Hux went from being actual Hitler, to being a punching bag, to being wasted and killed immediatly. EDIT: Also the "twist" about him being the spy is the most predictable thing I have ever seen in my entire life.
To be fair, he becomes the spy because of selfish reasons after getting sidelined by Kylo. He's not doing it for noble reasons. He's no Agent Kallus. :)
This scene actually made this character so perfect. I actually felt scared for what the First Order was at that time. This scene was calling out perfectly the tyranny of Hux. But... Disney knows how to ruin things... and they made him a coward that cries and asks permission to Kylo Ren. In ep7 he wasn't scared of him, he treated him just like Tarkin treated Vader. With respect for the rank they were. Hux was his superior, and he wasn't afraid of Ren. Now, by making him afraid of him, you made the First Order look like childs.
Ezio Auditore I agree last Jedi fucked up hux but he wasn’t scared of Kylo in last Jedi. He got thrown around and choked but he wasn’t scared. He still talked shit to him even at Crait. Remember the sarcastic line “did you get him?” He still barley has respect for Kylo and was even gonna kill him if he didn’t wake up. Hell when Kylo choked him he said “long live the supreme leader” not “please don’t kill me I beg of you”.
but Why was it so bad that Hux got a little bit scared of Ren ? The guy had force powers that could easily kill Hux at any point ..... It makes sense for him to be a little scared . Yeah it was true that in ep 7 Hux wasn't scared of Kylo , but that 's mainly because of Snoke. Snoke would never let Kylo do any harm to Hux but now Snoke is dead , Kylo can be free to do anything he wants
I liked that the power struggle between Hux and Ben got some payoff - Hux tried to take advantage of Ben's moment of weakness, but didn't manage to, so had to submit. I wish we'd seen more of that. Hux betraying Kylo Ren to the Rebels with the intent of seizing power was totally believable, and would have made a much better film.
Domhnall Gleeson really knocked this out of the park. He actually feels unhinged, like he honestly believes in the First Order and the Empire despite knowing full well what kind of atrocities they committed on a regular basis.

@@Spiralredd You can be scared but there is not enough time for that amount of people to process it to be screaming. If at this moment, an elephant suddenly spawned running towards you at full speed across the street, I'd wager you'd more frozen in denial at the sheer absurdity and suddenness of the situation rather than scream.
Probably one of the few advantages this movie had over the other ones. Alderaan got destroyed and we only saw the blast, but these planets were explicitly shown to be densely populated civilizations with men, women, and elderly. All watching their own demise and being powerless to stop it
Gotta big up Domhnall Gleeson for his acting at 1:26 - you can see that he's suddenly in deep awe and even fear of the power they've created with Starkiller; he has realised his mistake in creating such a dealer of death yet accepts it as a necessary evil in one moment, it's like the creators of the atom bomb watching the first detonation. For as much shit as we give JJ, it's moments like this that make a big part of me still love Force Awakens.
Force Awakens was good. Not great, but good. For it held the aura of promise, of potential, that we would get another great trilogy, with new characters that we would grow to love, and love to hate. Now Dave Filoni is working hard to make up for that broken promise.
Force awakens was good. I walked out that theatre liking it, and I still do. The score goes very hard, the characters had lots of potential, the action scenes where well executed and the tension was consistent, the climax was cool as fuck, han's death was heart breaking... very good movie.
I feel like the next two movies bummed TFA down a bit. I watched the movie for the first time and was left feeling relatively optimistic, since it made me curious for the next movies, especially surrounding Hux, Kylo and Finn. But we all know what happened next 🙃
I pretty sure they were cgi troopers, because 1, that cost would be too much, 2 if you seem deleted scenes of let say revenge of the Sith than you would understand that the are cgi

I challenge anyone to watch this scene and not feel at least a twinge of support stirring for the First Order, an attraction to evil which makes it all the more titillatingly terrifying.
His character had the potential to be the new Admiral Thrawn
Yes. Just, yes.
I agree, especially because he is so young. He looks only 35, his youth would imply he's some prodigy yet he gets wasted in the next films
I think they tried to make Grand Moff Tarkin Jr. But hey, they fucked up.
Literally he straight up had the potential to be way way better than both Tarkin and Thwran combinated but yeah of course Disney and Johnson got to fuck everything up. He was still the Goat in TFA tho.
How dare you
I don’t care what anyone says, I would have loved to had seen more of General Hux.
TheZiver
You can tell on Hux's face at the end of the movie that he really hates the idea of working for Kylo Ren.
