Those look great! Can't wait to see the sub build for the 2.1 system, I also have the Dta 2.1 amp and it really works well for the price point and its size/footprint is perfect for a desktop scenario.
TheeJoeyLee I have learnt a lot since I made this. I studied flush mounting vs this way and flush sounds much better. In future I'll work on making them sound better but still look great
My personal choice would of been the dayton nd 105 and a ribbon tweeter but thats just because it suits my personal taste in sound signature. Well done man.
Atergia having them set up now in my room I would agree with the tweeter. However these components are all reclaimed from a previous project where I failed building a battery powered portable boom box, so driver choice was a little out of the question hahah!
Nice process of building. Looks good. But can't understand this angle. And final testing means nothing without actual fr graphs. I've heard just overloading middle and highs. No bass. Do you use them with additional sub?
I'm only a beginner at this. I don't have any way to get graphs nor would I bother. These are average speakers and were meant to be paired with a sub that I was going to build but never got around to it because I used a sub that I had laying around and it didn't really fix it's low end issues
@@Blober112, it's not an issue at all. You can use REW for that. Room EQ wizard. Just reference condenser microphone. Or any other with wide sensitivity on full range.
Nice video man! One question: what is the size/diameter of the wire connnection that you used on the wire that connects to the binding posts on the inside of the cabinets?
I haven't really heard anything besides the DA drivers I use but they sound rather good if you know what you're doing with them. I'm not audio purest or anything like that though
Since Dayton provides all the frequency/impedance tables it's very easy to simulate the build first. A lot of manufacturers don't provide FRD or ZMA files.
I can't take you seriously as a speaker builder. Recessed-mounting your drivers can look nice, but sounds awful, unless you actually implement certain horn profiles for the tweeter. This is one of the stupidest trends in audio that prioritizes looks over function.
bro, very satisfying watching the speakers fit into the circular slots perfectly 👌

Kills the dispersion and imaging when they are soooo recessed like that. Flush mount FTW

Ya it does look good. Never stop creating man. NEVER!!!
I like that wood. Finish looks great. So simple and beautiful. Good job.
That Tasmanian wood is fantastic. Makes for a great looking pair of speakers. Nicely done.
Dave Kimball thanks!
Right away you can hear the effect of mounting the drivers that way. Sounds like when you cup your hand over your mouth to yell louder.
love the natural wood fronts.
Great Video John!
Parts Express Thank you!
That there was the perfect British sneeze 🤧
Great vid mate
I'm Australian but I take inspiration where I can ;)
@@Blober112 sorry mate didn't realise, I just sounded like one of mine 😂
Or maybe I sneeze like an Australian

Reusing components is cost effective.Ive rebuilt cabinets using the existing drivers just because I wanted a different sound from the original build.
Nice build dude. Good job on the "woodwork asmr"-style shots/edit too lol. 👍
Jim Farrugia cheers dude, yeah asmr was the plan haha
i said automatically '' God Bless You '' when you sneeze :)
Hahah thanks
You are a good designer John !

Очень красиво. Надеюсь что звук тоже отличный.
ПРОДОЛЖАЙ!)
Nice video man! One question: what is the size/diameter of the wire connnection that you used on the wire that connects to the binding posts on the inside of the cabinets?
I can't remember exactly, they don't pull many amps so anything over 20 gauge/0.50mm2 should do it. Better to go bigger than smaller
@@Blober112 Awesome, thanks a lot! I just noticed that my Daytonaudio binding posts already come with a little metal piece for me to weld the wire to.
Bless you
Wow beautiful
Alberto Camargo thanks :)
How did you know what size to build the enclosure/port? I have some old school car audio seperates that I was thinking about repurposing.
What is good about Dayton Drivers compared to others for studio reference monitor builds? Great video, very sharp job!

D. Liu Thank you! Just beginning my Electrical Engineering journey so your knowledge is appreciated thanks! I'll look further into this
John Grech Thanks John!
great speakers man!!!,
But which pre build speaker (like yamaha krk keff klipsch) do they compare to
Wonderfull Work !!! you sound do more stuff like that its so pretty !!!
That's a huge cap for a tweeter in combination with such a small woofer. What's the crossover frequency?
Same question here
Yep, again,same question
1:00 bless you
Thanks bro :D
Nice job but the bass port on the back is too small..you will get turbulance
Yeah I did find that out after building it. I should have spent more time in the planning phase
uhhh that front baffel is baaaaad for then speaker drivers......
Yep. Those speakers build in deeply maybe looks good, but doesnt help with the soundstage. You get beaming instead.
What kind of music is that ???
Where is part 2
You need to credit the artist and provide a link for the music you used.
Crossovers?
Undetected Sempach 5:10
кроссоверы для трусов! ))
Music during test?
Lack of Bass
Understandable as this was going to be paired with a sub but I never got around to finishing it
@@Blober112 Yeah, just get one and put in the corner. Done.
чих был в тему!

Yep yep
他の動画も見たが、工作順序が違うように思うし、加工精度が悪い。これだけの設備があるのにこの程度では残念。
