      Well i wouldnt go that far not when you see the Deacon's mouth was inspired off of a Goblin Shark. But i would be all for making the Deacon extremely intelligent, as in where it walks around similar to the Engineers in bipedal form, and can even sit down and crouch in areas.
      Im talking to the point that its smart enough to sneak and hide and take out prey one-by-one. That would be interesting, if it actually spoke though, thats taking ALL the mystery away from it, and i mean what kind of voice or accent would you give it, what would you have it say??

      Well my idea for a sequel going off Covenant would have been inspired by a movie called the Descent. I would have made it where David takes the crew to Origae-6 and its a mostly cavenous planet, and hes places all the crew underground, they wake up in caves, and end up hunted by many different variants of Xenomorph.
      So Scorpion Xeno, Razorclaws, Arachnid, Chrysalis Xeno and other variants because you could just say David had been hard at work, splicing and tampering with DNA in his crazy scheme to keep "creating" different versions of Xenomorph lifeforms.

    What if the black goo is created from the remains of xenomorths or the eggs as it decomposes and the blood becomes non acidic creating the black goo a mutangenic slime that turns normal organic life into xenomorth like creatures and mabey the engineers found it and did not make it? What is your opinions

    • @DarthEyesDragon

      The black goo was a recreation by the engineers of the somewhat gold substance you see at the beginning of Prometheus. The gold goo was blood of the first deacon and after running out they attempted to recreate said blood but created the black goo which rewrites the dna of those it infects.

    • @RaikenXion
      @RaikenXion 4 роки тому +1

      Well tbh i've always thought the idea was the black goo is basically the primordial soup, or remnant of whatever the "Xenomorph" species may have been. So i guess you could go with remains.
      Like the Engineers basically backward-engineered the black goo from whatever remnant they had of the original Xenomorph.
      Biut whatever the black goo comes into contact with, will keep evolving through horrific mutation, death and evolution process, that will ALWAYS eventually result in some form of "morphic" creature.

    I've since left all this Prometheus/Covenant speculation and theories but i did have a idea floating around in my head. A while after the events of Prometheus, another ship with a small crew of Engineers lands on LV-223 investigating what happened on the planetoid. While this group of Engineers are searching the Temple/Complex, the Deacon sneaks onboard their Space Jockey ship. They eventually take off and the Deacon runs amok, taking out all of the crew, because they have some black goo urns onboard their Juggernaut, the Deacon comes into contact with the black goo and it causes the Deacon to evolve into a egg-breeder onboard the ship.

  • @atilax6452
    @atilax6452 4 роки тому +1

    There is an answer to a lot of the questions that are asked about the Alien/Engineer mythos. Its stems from a piece of the original fluff of "Alien".
    1. Why is the Alien form depicted on the Engineer mural, stylized in such a heroic, grand, almost positive form?
    2. How and why can both a Beautific Xeno and a Horrific Xeno occupy the same glyphs?
    3. If the Engineers made us, who made them? And why r they so obsessed with the Xenomorph form, life cycle, abilities. If you remember the end of Prometheus, the Engineer moves in to kill Elizabeth Shaw, he does the Classic Alien move, to "Cradle" the head of the victim in both hands. Which, the Ripley Clone also did in Ressurection, with Annalee Call.
    So, why such fascination and emulation with them?
    4. Can the original Space Jockeys and Engineers coexist?
    5. What part could the Space Jockeys have played.
    6. Why do the Engineers also emulate the form and science of the Space Jockeys?
    7. Why was the Engineer Juggernaut, simply the craft we see in Prometheus, while in the Original Alien movie, the Juggernaut Craft is much, much more than the exposed craft?
    8. Why did the Space Jockeys have storage areas specifically setup to store the eggs in relative safety? Why did they have a stasis field that seemed to be attuned to the eggs alone?
    Thank about that stuff. I will be back with the fluff.

    • @aliray1165
      @aliray1165 4 роки тому

      The cavern or pyramid was originally a seperate building. It was combined with the derelict ship to save money and time on film. You could essentially think of the derelict as parked on top of the egg silo cavern.
      With regards to the stasis field, that has always remained a mystery. It does appear to wake the eggs up when the laser is broken.

    • @RaikenXion
      @RaikenXion 4 роки тому

      I would like to share my own answers to those questions -
      1. The "Alien form" in the Engineer mural is posed in such a "heroic" form because it emulates Christ and the Crucifixion. This is the Engineers way of showing their "God" ofwhich they worship. The Xenomorph represents the one thing the Engineers admire most "evolution", because it extrapolates DNA and can constantly evolve.
      2. I would say what would be considered a (as you choose to describe) "Beautific Xeno" and "Horrific Xeno" occupying the same glyphs; comes from the Engineer's own forms of "art". Their eyes see in much different ways as our own eyes see.
      E.g. some centuries ago the Dutch Artist/Painter created a artwork of wilting Sunflowers. Not recognized by the impressionist masters of his time, his art-painting was seen as a insult and rejected. It took decades, even centuries later to be truly seen and understood as a "work of art".
      I use this as a example because to humans perhaps the "Xenomorph" creature can be seen as horrific, maybe even a "beast", because of the violent nature ofwhich it is born, and also its physical appearance. But to the Eningeers, their immense age and wisdom, spanning perhaps thousands of years to humans, see much more than that and revere the Xenomorphic creature and it's life-cycle, how it functions.
      This can be seen as one answer as to why the Xenomorph appears both (as you put) "Beautific" and at sametime "Horrific" in the mural.
      3. "If the Engineers made us who made them?" The only conclusion can be "God" made them, through the process of "Evolution", as radical as that may sound. But then we are exploring the realm of "Science Fiction", so such a idea should be entertained.
      Lets hypothesize, that the "Engineers" are a highly advanced species, who have traversed a majority of the known universe, gaining a vast knowledge of many forms of life. Would it not be hard to speculate the idea that they either came across either somekind of remnant of the Xenomorph creature, much like human scientists came across remnants of the Dinosaurs in the novel "Jurassic Park"?
      Or would it not be too hard to imagine that the Engineers in all their wealth of knowledge, attained the means to create "life" themselves. Through either some form of cloning process or some other means entirely, by use of the "black goo?".
      Maybe the Engineers reached such a pinnacle in their own evolution that they became a evolutionary dead-end; After all they dont appear to have any hair follicles, no eyebrows, pale, pearl-like skin. They are in peak, muscular physical condition, appear to be immune to disease, or atleast seem unharmed by certain ecosystems and extremes weather conditions (as seen on LV-223), can sustain incredible amounts of damage, as seen where one lone Engineer who had not long awoken from a near two-thousand year hyper-sleep; withstood multiple shots to the torso, and body damage from a axe.
      It would be logical to surmount that Engineers themselves have either achieved the ability to clone themselves, or acquire highly advanced biomechanoid suits, which can integrate to their own physical bodies, which may protect them when in long periods of hyperspace travel.
      Is this technology harnessed in some way from the Xenomorph species? Themselves appearing biomechanoid.
      3b. You mention the Engineer grabbing Elizabeth Shaw with both hands appearing to cradle her head, i cannot give no apparent answers to this, other than to mention that the Engineer did appear to also grab David-8 in a similar manner; picking him up and ripping his android head from his own body.
      In this scene the Engineer is clearly seen stroking David's hair at first, as if working out if it is even a real, "organic" being standing before him, then soon realizes he is a artificial construct, created by "humans."
      There is evidently a pattern here, one "creation" creates another. Engineers created Humans, and Humans created Androids. Only here we learn on earth in this time, the humans created the Androids to "serve" them. This begs the question, did the Engineers once create "Humans" to serve them in some way? Maybe to worship them?
      If so it would explain why the last surviving Engineer on that Juggernaut ship who is awoken, becomes so violent after he makes contact with the artificial life-form "David-8", who was instructed by his creator "Peter Weyland" to communicate with the Engineer.
      But yes the Engineers do seem obsessed with the Xenomorph life-cycles hence the Mural and Urns they have layered out in the Ampule Chamber.

    • @RaikenXion
      @RaikenXion 4 роки тому

      cont - Their fascination and emulation with the Xenomorphs could stem from the possibility that the Engineers may have built their entire technology from the biomechanoid Xenomorphs.
      4. I think a more plausible thought would be are the Engineers and the "Space Jockeys" one and the same? Afterall Ridley Scott director of 1979's "ALIEN" did coin the term "Space Jockey" as a affectionate nickname for H.R. Giger's masterful artwork.
      It appear Ridley aimed to expand on the Space Jockeys giving them another name "Engineers", which itself is coined by the naive doctors Holloway and Shaw in the "Prometheus" film.
      5.&6. respectively As originally answered, but heres one wild idea if you do prefer to think of the two as separate beings entirely.
      You could think of the Engineers as the scientist types who came to the conclusion that humanity was a failed experiment. Maybe mankind has evolved to cease worshipping the Engineers, maybe they had grown to violent for the Engineers' own liking (if we refer to the Roman times and crucifixtion of Christ), possibly even further before this time; And the Engineers ultimately chose to eradicate the Earth and Humanity with their strain of the black goo, their bioweapon.
      Then another faction the "Space Jockeys" greatly disagreed with the Engineers' plan to eradicate the Earth of Humanity, and so sent in a group of their own, to ultimately thwart the Engineer's mission to earth.
      Hence a group of Space Jockeys are seen running from the black goo bioweapon they have unleashed upon the LV-223 Temple/Facility. Deliberately causing the "outbreak" Shaw mentioned in the film. For it is most unlikely such highly advanced race as the Engineers, could accidentally let out the black goo contagion on their own base.
      And so the other faction, the "Space Jockeys" unleashed the black goo onto the Engineers, as their only way of preventing Earth's destruction. But in such event the group that were seen running from the outbreak tragically did not escape. Remember the sticky bio-nano fluid smeared on the door controls to the Ampule room? Ofwhich David discovered? Lets assume for a moment this was something to do with the Space Jockey's erasing data from the holographic recordings in the Temple/Facility, "erased memory", possibly attempting to cover their tracks and make the whole event look like one big monumental "accident".
      7. Well a nice little tie in to 79's ALIEN would be that one lone "Space Jockey" did manage to escape the chaos of the outbreak on LV-223, in another Juggernaut craft. Either he and a few of his comrades managed to attain ampules of the black goo, and they managed to grow eggs from that source, much like David had managed to replicate Xenomorph eggs from his research in his time on the "Covenant Planet".
      They would then house thousands of these eggs deep underground in caverns throughout the LV-426 planetoid, and keep them untouched in stasis field.
      Or maybe even more confusing it all actually started with the LV-426 planetoid, they had maanged to house all those eggs there, a crew took off with a batch of the original Xeno eggs, the pilot got infected by his cargo and put down somewhere on LV-223, causing the outbreak there, that way. Seems crazy but with a open-mind there are a number of ways this whole entire story could go.

    The engineers gave up gender and reproduction in exchange for immortality, but immortality didnt work perfectly and over the ages they started dying out. One engineer came in contact with an alien who impregnated him, this gave birth to the Decon you saw on the mural. The Decon could speak and was a great teacher, its blood could be used to seed life on new plantets and the engineers tried to save thier dying race by re creating themselves in a new Eden and restore thier gender and the ability to reproduce. This worked but the offspring were always imperfect and corrupted. This is how our Earth was created. Eventuality the Decon died and the Engineers ran out of his blood so they made the Black Goo but that also failed. The black goo could accelerate evolution but not create life. Eventually the Engineers ran out of time and they all perished when they turned on each other.

    My personal head-canon is that the Engineers's encountered the xenomorphs and attempted to develop the perfect counter-measure against them by creating the Black Goo as a delivery system for artificial Xenomorphs.
    And the artificial xenomorphs have all the signs of being weapons:
    They can only develop when an organic lifeform is present (except plants) and comes into contact with the Black Goo.
    It is implied that they have a limited lifespan as none of the xenomorphs from the original outbreak in the engineer's base were still present (alive or dead).
    The only exception being the xeno-snake/worm-thingy but I think that this was a recently infected wormlike creature from the planet or possibly a stagnated form that the artificial xenomorphs develop when they don't encounter any lifeforms anymore and their bodies return to a Black Goo state which then deteriorates over time or with a counter-agent applied.
    That would also fit with the implications of the opening that the Black Goo is connected to the Engineer's life-seeding.

      No, all that was explained in the leaked Prometheus script. The engeneers gave up on gender and reproduction in exchange for immortality, but the immortality didnt work and they were dying out. One engineer somehow got impregnated by an alien and the ?Decon came out of him. The Decon spoke and evidently tried to help them regain reproduction. The Decon eventually died and his blood could be used to bring life to new worlds and create more engineers but they were all imperfect..mankind was one of those. They eventually ran out of the blood and created thr black goo as a substitute but it didnt work.. Eventually the engineers all died out. The black goo just accelerated evolution, worms from that planet got into The black goo and accelerated into that snake creature, there is a deleted scene where a worm from gets tracked into the temple by the biologist..thats where that snake thing came from.. The goo got on to the geologist and his hemlet and it all fused into him and accelerated him into a monster.

    ... so if a mouse drank a bit of the black goo, was bit by a flea which in turn was eaten by a spider... we’d get a Deacon spider that lays egg sacks of other Xeno spiders in the stomachs of hosts it crawled down its throat while sleeping.

  • @LordBackuro

    My theory is that the Deacon is actually the being that the engineers used to create the black goo (both versions of it, the black and the Golden one)
    and that it can be recreated by the result of beings originating from the golden goo (Men specifically) consuming a little of the Black goo and then sexually reproducing with each other which creates a trilobite
    And the trilobite then has to infect an engineer or maybe also a human to create a Deacon
    Which then can be used to create the golden goo and black goo
    And now you basically can create life.

      I just see it as one of a kind, the "Deacon", i would have liked the devs of Alien Isolation to have made a followup though. Involving a crew lets say the USCSS: Pandora heading to LV-223 and they explore the Engineer Temple and come into contact with, and are hunted by a fully grown Deacon.

    The Deacon was the original alien it's blood can evolves living cells but makes them aggressive.
    The engineers made humans from it then they learnt to separate the aggression and that left the black goo u see in Prometheus.
    Now they have artificial Deacon blood to create things and black too to destroy.

    So, this was part of the original script.
    As you will see, initially, the Adult Xenomorphs were a very advanced, peaceful, intelligent, ancient race.
    So, read on and let that set in.
    Possibilities?
    Here:
    Dan O’Bannon’s original intent was also for the Aliens to be an advanced civilization, a concept lost in the final version of the film.
    Cobb elaborated: “in Dan’s original conception the Alien race had three entirely different stages in its life-cycle. First, the egg, which is tended by third-stage adults and housed in a lower chamber of the breeding temple. When ready to hatch, the egg is placed in the middle of a sacrificial stone and a lower animal, the equivalent of an Alien cow, is then led on to the stone. Sensing the warmth, the Facehugger springs out, attaches itself to the animal and deposits a fetus into the stomach. The Facehugger soon drops off and the fetus develops inside, eventually chewing its way out and killing its host. This creature, the Chestburster, is the Alien’s second stage, and it simply runs about eating, mindlessly carnivorous. At this stage, the creature is still controlled and nurtured by adult Aliens until the Chestburster begins losing appendages and becomes more and more harmless. Finally - its bloodlust gone - the Alien becomes a mild, intelligent creature, capable of art and architecture, which lives a full, scholarly life of 200 years. At some point, a cataclysm causes the extermination of the adults of this unique race leaving no one to tend and nurture the young. But in a dark lower chamber of the breeding temple a large number of eggs lie dormant, waiting to sense something warm.”
    O’Bannon further elaborated: “I saw the inhabitants of this planetoid as tough and primitive, and with an extremely complicated sexual cycle. Reproduction was very difficult for them and had therefore become central to their religion. And this pyramid was a temple to reproduction. When the astronauts come upon this crumbling structure covered with ugly angular carvings, they begin to realize that they are in the presence of real antiquity. They’re unable to find an entrance at the base, so they scale the pyramid and discover at the top a flue that goes straight down from the peak. This was where the Kane character set up his tripod and winch and lowered himself down - way below ground level - to the floor of this chamber. Using his suit lights, he looks around in the darkness and in the middle of the room finds a huge stone plinth with blood drains in it. All over the walls are Alien hieroglyphics. Also in there, centrally located, are these eggs - spores really. See, these Alien beings had two sexes of their own, but they needed a third host animal to reproduce. So they’d bring in an animal. put it up on the plinth with a spore, and whammo! Then they’d lead the inseminated animal off to an enclosure somewhere to await the birth. But the planetoid was now dead and this civilization had been gone for a million years. All that remained of it was this pyramid and the spores - which can survive dormant for incredible lengths of time under even the most adverse conditions.”

    I agree the Deacon is unique being based on the circumstances of its creation, but Im not a fan of this black goo nonesense. I dont understand why anyone would think audiences were watching any Alien movie for anything other than original Xenomorph.
    The Space Jockey was fascinating at first (until it was revealed as giant albino in a suit) and I dont mind exploring variants within the Xenomorph species such as Queen, Praetorian and even those coming from different species like Predalien, Ultramorph & even Dog Alien from Alien3.
    But these weird mutations, experiements, clones and hybrids we've been getting since Resurrection are bizarre attempts to one up HR Geger designs, which is direspectful imo if you're gonna hijack the same franchise in order to do that.

    I would like it if the Deacon was a one-off creature sortof more Cthulu-esque, considering all of the religious motifs surrounding it; exceedingly large, not outright hostile nor animalistic, but very inhuman in its mentality and sinister in it's machinations. Sortof more of a Devil or Antichrist to the Xenomorphs Demon. It is afterall a bastardized version of the Engineers God.

    They spent a lot of time and narrative to wind up with a one off Deacon. Odd how it's use was so limited. I wonder if it was a victim of panicking suits and low attention span having franchise fans... with misplaced expectations for the director's overall narrative.

      I'd say you're right, Ridley Scott kind of shot himself in the foot because he kept trying to hold onto the franchise and convince the 20th Century Fox studio that he could stretch the story out into multiple sequels.
      This was a bad idea and why he chose to hold alot of details and story elements back when he did the "Covenant" movie. Although what didnt help was that even though "Prometheus" did okay at the box-office; the audience/fanbase were divided in that 50% wanted more mythology explored into the "Space Jockey Race" (Engineers), and 50% just wanted to carry on being purely about Xenos hunting down teams of humans.
      Ridley thought he could spoon-feed both halves of that fan-base giving them alittle of both, but ultimately it turned out wasnt enough "answers" regarding Prometheus revealed, and not enough action/horror pay-off for the "Aliens" fans.
      Just like The Rise of Skywalker has proved, you just cant please every aspect of the fan-base, you have to choose which side/direction you're going to go with.

      @Gasper Vidovic Opinions man OPINIONS!!
      Its Your Opinion that Covenant is great! And its my opinion that Covenant is just "Okay", i like the first half, but once it gets to the Citadel with David and the Surviving crew, the movie becomes predictable and cliche.
      Personally i luv Prometheus i really liked where that film was going and have always been able to forgive and even just ignore the "dumb scientists", but many Alien fans out there really dislike Prometheus, Opinions, Opinions!
