Slow Design - "In The Fog" | Environment Design | Level Art | Unity | HDRP

  • Hi:) This time I have prepared for you a slow design of the last scene that appeared on the channel. As usual, in these types of videos, I tried not to cut anything, and the temporary camera skips are only caused by the fact that sometimes I had to turn off the recording:) The whole thing is sped up x2, because it took me about 6-7 hours to create this scene and I don't think anyone would want to watch one video that long:) So this video is 3 hours long, and I'm curious if anyone managed to watch it from start to finish?:) Have a nice week:)

    Ever since I first played the original Doom and looked out the windows at the distant gray mountains, i’ve wondered how game artists were able to create the illusion of being in “real” place. Thank you for sharing your creative process!

      It used to be that 3 mountain models were enough for this, now there is much more work to achieve it:)

    Hey bro....Nice tutorial...I really learnt a lot from this... Please make detailed video like this using free assets....use URP instead of HDRP..... cause i want to see how we can achieve HDRP like effects in URP ❤❤❤❤

      Without additional paid add-ons, it will be difficult to achieve an effect similar to HDRP due to the lack of volumetric light in regular URP, lack of SS effects, and a few other things. The effect will be good, but HDRP quality will be difficult to achieve:)

      Unfortunately, the only thing I could potentially share is the scene itself without models, so everyone would have to have the asset packages that I used to make the scene work.

    Hi! Thanks for the upload, fantastic. :)
    I copied it in about 50 hours, BUT...
    I got stuck...
    -Direction light has no "Intensity Multipler" in the emission ... not to mention "Affect Diffuse" and "Affect Specular".
    "Global Volume: FOG" : quality is the last one... after that there is nothing... there is no "Anisotropy"
    "Global Volume: VOLUMETRIC CLOUDS: no menu "Erosion Noise Typ- Perlin 32"
    Of course it was also a problem that I could only see the changes in the "GAME" window.... The "SCENE" window had a yellowish cloud and horrible lights at first...
    I have UNITY 2022.3.23f1 DX11 and I did it on that..
    Free version not subscription... could this be a problem?
    Or are some settings in very wrong place?
    SCENE camera is alive with you, interesting with me..
    If you have the time and means, please help me.

      You simply don't have additional options displayed in Light/Fog ect:) Select Directional Light > Em ission Tab and click on the 3 dots icon and select "Show Additional Properties":) Do the same in Fog Volume:) Unity has a lot of useful options hidden in almost every component:)

      One more question..... Which asset is the "Volumetric Samples/Fog Volume Shadergraph" and prefabs in? Where can I get it?
      As soon as they are completely finished, I will post them on my channel...of course marked, I copied them from you :) I don't plan to have a youtub channel, just so you can see.... and see the difference you make in your projects... Yours is alive :)

      @@imogames77 Thank you for your kind words:) In the Package Manager, select Unity Registry > High Definition RP and there you have the Samples tab. Import Volumetric Samples and you will have those samples:) I can't wait, I always like to see other people's work inspired by my ideas:)
