Speedrunning any form of Panel de Pon Story besides maybe like... Pokemon Puzzle Challenge on gameboy seems like it'd be frustrating because ultimatley the CPU decides how long it wants to survive the endless onslaught of garbage.
I occasionally play PPL competitively with co-workers. I won't stop till I can pull off 10 chains on them. Your speedrun's inspire me to never stop getting better.
How come this game never got a sequel? (NO!! Pokemon Puzzle Challenge doesn't count because it's not ANIME-based. It's like if Kingdom Hearts IV was based on Universal properties (like Back to the Future, Fast & Furious, and Jurassic Park) instead of Disney; it WOULD be a Kingdom Hearts game but NOT a Disney game.
Y'now, Nintendo Puzzle Collection's version of Panel de Pon is virtually the same game as this but without Pokemon and it's on the GameCube. It also supports using a GBA and the GBA to GameCube link cable as a controller. Plus it's more pleasant to the ears and it has 2 more games (Dr. Mario and Yoshi's Cookie). Only thing is that you have to import it. You can also get Pokemon Puzzle League on Virtual Console. So remake's checked off. As for a sequel, there's Pokemon Puzzle Challenge for the Game Boy Color.
The P.P Challenge actually came before P.P League, so they hardly can be considered a sequel, also as you said the Panel de Pon is just a port, so still no sequel

it can be a pain in the butt if it wants to survive so long

13:11 My world is certainly NOT your behind!
Misty gave quite the challenge.
Or just desperately and luckily survived for 2 minutes.
That's what I thought too
This game needs either a remake or a squeal
That's Sequel
and I Am with you to the end
