- Follow the path I take, jump to the right slightly, continuously hit light attack so you won’t die. Do this until the boss has felled. Should take around 1 min
Can confirm it work on the 06. March 2024.
Made it first try.
Just jump from exact spot he does on video and wait for second jump until camera pans down. Also just spam basic attack and you kille him eventually.
It works,
You need to time the second jump immediately after the camera starts looking down

Finally got the jump right, donig the second jump once the camera pans down is the trick! Thanks! That said, still said I died. Was spaming R2.
edit: I didn't have any weapon in my right hand the first time so maybe thats why I died...the 2nd time I put a weapon(used nagakiba but don't think it matters) and instead I spamed R1. It worked! btw don't forget to go back to collect your lost runes. Worked 3/29/24

still works 3/22/24 took me about 8-10 attempts, jump exactly where he jumps, and jump as soon as the camera pans down, and keep spamming ur sword until commander nial dies
it doesnt let me swing my weapon, does it only apply for swords?
You should be able to use any weapon that you can do a light attack on horseback with
I’d use a sword or something similar to the video just to make sure
Feb 15th still works, just took a couple attempts to get the jump distance right
Perhaps it was patched, everything goes as planned and then suddenly it says u died.

At first when I had seen the video I thought it was just a troll vid aimed towards noobs like myself, but to my genuine shock it actually worked! I have no idea how someone could've found this or how it's possible, but I did in fact try it and it worked!

WORKED!! just a tip for the people trying:
I was failing at the start because when I jumped off I didn’t get the running start so make sure you sprint off with your horse.
And for the double jump you want to look down and double jump to make sure you don’t hit any rocks on your way down. If there are any rocks you will die.

If you struggle to do this jump off count 1, 2, 3 jump, pause for 1 sec, then swing with a light weapon. You’re welcome.
As of today it still works if your having trouble try going slightly more to the right when jumping and make sure to time it as said in one comment below
Its kinda fascinating to me that these kind of glitches exist since the launch of the game. They were never be able to fix it.
I just did this trick (2024 feb 4) and it works. It took a while but it definitely works.

Incredible. I always wonder how you guys find those kind of bugs/exploits etc. These are not obvious at all and still people like you find it what helps a lot. I used to fight with Niall over 60 times I believe... maybe more. I wish I knew this trick earlier :D

I honestly found out about it on Reddit. If I knew or remembered the person I found it from I would’ve 100% given credit in description or something. (Yes. I am not the first person to do this glitch/cheese whatever you want to call it. All love ❤️ ) I’ve just searched and there’s other videos showcasing the same technique I’ve used in this video so it’s hard to tell who really way the first to find this

I will fall for 30 seconds or so and everything will seem like its going to work and then it will just say "you died" - I am spamming R1 with a sword and jumping at the little nub. Today is DLC launch day. Maybe patched?

Do your initial jump off the edge then jump again just as the camera goes to the death cam one. Then just swing every 2 to 3 seconds.
You see the rock at 0:38 the one with the message, jump off just to the left of it.

6/6/24 I just tried it and had the same outcome as you, but the second attempt, I kept the left stick forward while attacking. Not sure if that was the issue, but it worked for me. I never had to do that before though so who knows.

im not getting it, i tried jumpping the exact same spot as you, and i do all the actions correctly, but i still die. im so close to hitting my moniter. ive been at this for 2 hours. help
1. Make sure you have a running start (no need to boost).
2. Jump on the right side of the rock, basically touching it, and right at the edge.
3. Double jump as soon as the camera changes, and begin swinging your weapon.
4. Do not stop swinging until the kill is confirmed and you've acquired the boss weapon.

@@Captain0Beyonder probably. Took me two tries. Maybe your weapon is swinging too slow, where to jump is in the video so you can't miss that. Maybe you're not double jumping forward at the right time.

It dint worked for me. i took him down by fighting with my mimic n bewitching branch n my mage build with comet
The bewitching branch trick is also a very nice way to easily defeat him

Right when you jump off do the second jump exactly as they do but then keep on swinging make sure you keep swinging and then you'll get it.
