Thanks for this review. Glad you’re staying on top of the new stuff coming out - such as this! Agree with that 1/4-20 would have been nice. Some of our camcorders only have a cold shoe at top - above where the operators head (we use tall tripods), so we would have to find clips w cold shoe mounts. The price is actually not so bad - compare to what else is out there that is reliable. Cuebi tally lights were said to be a bust and cost more. My self-programmed arduino tally lights became unreliable after 3/4 uses (unstable connections). Having a dedicated full product like this is - in the end - good value, as long as they “just work.”
We are using tally arbiter now for 2 years or so and it works almost perfect. Sometimes really sometimes I need to toggle an atom or m5 stick. But that’s like 1 time every 6 months. But I think it happens mainly after network updates
It’s super compact/lightweight, very cheap, and also very dim or bright, however you set or chose ur divide. We also have multiple light at the same camera (on top camera and next to external screen that showing the feed of the camera). And since it’s so compact, it’s less noticeable by the audience
I feel like every time hollyland comes out with something it looks pretty good but inevitably has drawbacks. This actually looks like something I'd buy!
@@RylandRussell Would love if you could send that file over as I am not able to get it to connect to my 2me either and can't get a hold of their support.
this is a great overview of this product!! since you mentioned you guys have a 2 M/E ATEM, do you know if the wireless tally takes tally input from both M/Es? Or just M/E 1?
Looks great, but surprised the compatibility doesn't list the ATEM TV Studio HD8, which we use. They do list the TV Studio 4K8, I'm surprised they'd support one and not the other. Disappointing. It's a shame, because we're going to be getting a tally system in a couple of months and if it was compatible this would probably be perfect.
It sounds like they are willing to add compatibility for more devices, as Ryland talked about. So I would say best bet is to contact the support about this what they need to add the support for your device.
Ya I’m sure they can add support, just need the data from your switcher to be able to add it. I’m not sure why, maybe all atems aren’t the same protocol or something.
This may be a silly question, but if you're already using the ethernet port out of an atem mini extreme iso in order to send the stream directly to the internet out of the switcher. Is it still possible to connect to the tally light system?
@@lccreative1460 yes. The box goes between. Not silly at all, I wondered the same thing. Granted we don’t stream from our constellation Ethernet but companion is connecting to it and controlling everything.
@@RylandRussell Thanks for the fast reply, really appreciate that! Just looked at a photo of the back of the unit. Assuming you go atem switcher -> 'Tally In and then from Hollyland Tally system you come out of 'Control Loop OUT' -> wherever your ethernet for stream needs to end up (ours being shared macbook internet haha)

Didn’t realize how helpful tally was until we updated our livestream, now I can’t imagine running a Sunday morning without it!

The pricing is a barrier 😢

Thanks, bro !
Whoa whoa whoa, Hollyland is trying to step on the toes of my DIY tallies! 😂 jk these look pretty slick!
Didnt work for our Atem 2me production... would love to reorder it if it gets supported in the future. But hollylands support was horrendous lol.
For real? I can send you the file they sent me for updating. Obviously mine is the constellation atem 2me

Any chance of getting that file @RylandRussel?

Hi Russel. What kind of training do you do for your cam ops?
They shadow for a few weeks before trying it out. A couple times a year we will have an all ops training night to practice.
@@RylandRussellcould you share what you go over in those trainings? Any document or guide
Does it work with Osee Gostream deck Switchers?
