    I am 50 yrs old man with a heart condition, I hill bomb the hill out front of my house and see how far I can cruise to the local shops on the momentum. I own a generic kickscooter with 200 mm p u wheels that I bought cheap from Kmart. I am surprised how well it has held up after 6 mont(s

    Love the video and that’s great you lost 5 lbs riding your kick scooter! It’s a great way to exercise everyday and ride it on trails.
    If you want to go faster, change the bearings to “Reds”. You don’t have to push off so much and you glide more. There are UA-cam videos that provide tutorials how to change them and test rides.
    Keep it up!

      I tried Bones Reds, but I am currently riding Dragon Fireball Endure bearings. I feel they are a little better than Reds. In any case a bearing upgrade gets you another MPH when commuting.

    I did about 1.6 miles in this same time, pretty happy with that specially with the slight amount of uphill in there. Really fast convenient way to get around and after I sat down for 5 minutes I didn't feel like I expended much energy at all. Also I had a lot of fun in the process.

    Nice video! I own a blue A5. As a 35 year old woman who wears size 6 shoes, I'm lucky enough to be able to fit both feet on the deck at the same time, which makes switching a breeze :) A note on those pebbles though: you do have to be careful around pebbles and small stones, because if you hit one just right going fast enough, it'll make you stop dead and you may end up going over your handlebars. Trust me I know from painful experience, lol.

      Thanks for your comment! I haven't gotten bucked off my Razor yet... If you haven't done the mod, I recommend switching to Bones Reds bearings. I go noticeably faster (1mph+).

    Great video! I like the comments. I got my A6 a few weeks ago and the last leg of my commute to work is 2.4 miles. I was debating about it because I don’t want to arrive all sweaty. I’ve done it on my bikes but having to change trains in the middle forces me to go down the stairs and then up another set of stairs. The scooter should solve that. Your station looks like my transfer station in Oakland CA: MCArthur BART station. Lucky you having all those biking lanes. Further inland we have them but no maintenance and cars flying at 50 mph by you. I use the sidewalks because they are smoother and wide. Your video helped me make up my mind. I’ll scoot more times a week to work. Thanks.

    I've ordered one of these to experiment with getting from airport, near my home, to my house. It's 9km. 2.5km on quiet sealed road, the rest on bike track. Should save a bit of time waiting for transport & it's a stunning track. Will see.

    • @Gusto0172
      @Gusto0172 11 місяців тому

      Thanks. I run that distance a lot so I figure that a bit of kicking & rolling will close the distance quicker with less effort. Worth a try!@@theWZZA

      @@Gusto0172 I'm sure you will do fine, especially if you are under 40. I run also; riding a kick scooter taxes the body differently. When I started, I tried to do 15 or 16 kph. Nowadays, I do more like 12 kph, maintaining an easy cruising speed without pushing too hard.

    Fast up to 50mph or under. I use it a little biy from 70ft mini hill drop speed is how i use it.

    I am 53 now I bought a chaser x1 kick scooter for my exercise. I bought it for the reason to be my personal transportation, the only problem is I could not use it because I can't balance, I'm scared I'm always falling. I haven't use to ride on a bicycle or skateboard or a car when I'm still young, I have no experience in riding in these. This is my first time to ride on a kick scooter. Maybe I should practise on a bicycle first to learn how to balance.

    • @theWZZA
      @theWZZA  3 роки тому

      I think riding a scooter is easier than riding a bicycle. The balance should be very natural. What you need to watch out for is rocks and twigs. Just start out slow and practice in your driveway or around your house.

    Nice video. I like your idea of replacing the stock bars with a wooden dowel - I never detach mine anyway and would appreciate less play/rattle in them. Do you happen to know what diameter of dowel is the best fit? Also, I'm wondering how you secured the dowel from slipping from side to side - maybe set screws through the holes in the aluminum? Any problems getting the hand grips to stay put on the dowel without bar ends? Thanks for posting!

    • @theWZZA
      @theWZZA  4 роки тому +1

      A 7/8" dowel should work. I put two wood screws in the holes where the buttons for the detachable handle bars used to go. It works well but you will have to periodically tighten them. The grips work fine on wood. A tip on how to get them off without killing your hands... apply soapy water.
