Being an internal zoom and having that minimum focus distance, along the WR and the aperture ring really is quite the achievement.
This is what surprised me the most from the summit. Now I wish we had a super telephoto prime for X-Mount.
The original has an aperture ring
Just 240g too. I was super surprised by this as in recent years Fuji lenses and cameras have been getting heavier. Of course, dropping OIS and max aperture helped them achieve this
XF 500m f5.6 is coming this year I think
Internal zoom and WR is great! Aperture 4.8 is a price I’m prepared to pay for the size.
Awesome innovation! このプロモ動画は本当に良かったです。 Internal zooming makes this lens worth it. I had the 18-55mm f2.8-4, but sold it for the much cheaper 15-45mm for the wide angle and the versatility mounted on a gimbal on my trusty X-H1. Great job FUJIFILM!
I'm based in a small prefecture here in Japan, so FUJI... if you ever want to send any gear to be tested and reviewed in a local historical prefecture of Kagawa. You know where to find me! 😉よろしくお願いします。
complimenti
Could somebody compare this with XF16-55, XF16-55’s weight makes me annoyed ,but the quality makes me stay😢
When will the XF 120mm 2.0 r lm wr be released?
Guys... This new 16-50mm or Sigma 18-50mm F/2.8?? 👀
sigma 18-50mm for the constant f2.8 and that shit is tiny af.
👍✨🙂
This lest still has issues with exposure changing when zooming in or out.
Have you tested?
Is this "native XF lens" really NOT compatible with X-PRO1 and X-E1 ?
I would appreciate an explanation WHY.
Thank you for the reply.
internal zoom, wr and 16mm is great. unfortunately it is dark as f**k , being a 24-75 f4-7,2 equivalent, but a very nice daylight street ph lens to keep at f8 fixed.
fuji, just give us a 16-35 f2 smaller than the 16-55 2,8 and you'll make us happy
It seems you are confusing aps-c depth of field equivalent with the actual lens light transmission which is clearly marked f2.8 - 4.8
@@KKCavan yeah the lens is clearly marked 16-50 2.8-4.8 then you crop it on the aps-c sensor and the portion you are looking at and the distance you are obliged to take from the subject because of the crop makes it a 25-75 f4-7.2 equivalent...
@@hellni79 Right, so the depth of field is equivalent to f4-f7.2, but the light transmission remains f/2.8 to f/4.8 (in terms of how much light the camera has to use, and impact on the ISO). Even if you crop a flashlight pointed at you, the center area remaining in your vision is still just as bright as before.
@@manwhalejoe6962 in fact the main problem is the depth of field, which is the real creative element limited by a crop sensor. Still, you're not getting the total transmitted light the lens would capture on a FF, but smaller sensor, smaller pixels, higher noise, bad low light performance ecc..ecc..
@@hellni79 if u want bokeh u can use a prime lens not a kit lens and the minimum focus distance is rly good for bokeh on the long end which is where the aperture sucks
Fixing autofocus first
Fujifilm getting over and over price, and always short supply.Jump to other system already.
Fuji fix your Auto focus first until you release a new camera! We are tired of you releasing undemanded products.
They are the worst autofocus in the market
Not understood this lens compared to 18-55 with ois. Dark and expensive . WR and IF are not a plus in this case
It's compared to the 18-55 because they're discontinuing it in favor of the 16-50. The difference in aperture is just half a stop. It's a small price to pay for a smaller weight, (hopefully) improved optics, better MFD and wider starting point.
its designed for the 40MP cameras & its over 100g lighter
16mm better than 18mm, f4 already dark, ois not more needed with ibis bodies, internal zooming. Both pointless bought new, if this new one will be around 350€ on second hand market, it absolutely make sense
