Great conclusion, I ordered one this morning for hiking with my XT5.
Thank you very much
Bonjour, thanks so much for putting together such a great video. In terms of IQ and AF tracking performance, do you have any specific thoughts on how this compares to the:
1) Fujifilm XF 16-55 2.8 lens?
2) Fujifilm XF 18-55 2.8-4 older kit lens?
Merci!
Great video review!
Photography is my [expensive] hobby. I was undecided when I bought my X-T4 a few years ago, because I wanted the 18-55mm but not having weather sealing made me choose the 16-80mm f/4. I like it, but the size and weight usually make me choose to leave home with other lighter prime.
Now with the release of the 16-50mm, I am thinking of getting it cause of internal zoom and about same size as 18-55m.
I'd like suggestions/recommendations on what to do. Sell the 16-80mm f/4 for the 16-50mm? Or sell it and go for the 18-55mm and not worry about water damage from rain? Or other light third party lenses with weather sealing?
Hello. As your x-t4 has ibis, really the 16-50 is fine even without stabilisation. The gain of size is a good point in my opinion. Thank you for your comment
Thank you for this review. First I have seen and have been waiting for this. I want a smaller option for travel and take a smaller lighter lens than my 16-55.
Hello, thank you for your comment. No doubt this is the ideal lens to bring along everywhere.
It's not just sharp, I'm noticing a 3d snap to the images like the 16-55 2.8 gets on occasion. I think the contrast and color on this lens is really good as well. This lens will replace my 16-55mm 2.8 for the landscape work I do. The size and weight is wonderful.
Thank you Eduard for your comment
I own this lens now. It is very sharp and creates beautiful images. This is my travel lens along with my Fuji 70-300mm.
Thank you so much for your info Pro..!! This is one of a fantastic lens.❤❤❤
Thank you John! I am back home so soon your HassyPB
@@EricGibaud Wow.!! That’s awesome 😎
Thank you so much sir ❤️❤️
The links for black diffusion/mist filters in description are for 62 mm, do you confirm this diameter (I thought it was 58 mm)? Also, do I have to buy any adaptor to put on the threaded filter?
This is a general links, there you can get to 58mm that is the right size. Don’t forget the code ERIC100K and get a 10% discount if you buy before june 2024
I hope I am not late. Sigma 18-50 or this lens, which will you pick?
Both lenses are good but I like very mucho these extra 2mm from 16 to 18mm
@EricGibaud thanks. I really agree with that extra 2mm is much more useful.
I already owned a tamron 17 70, but the size really a downside for me.
I am looking for this new lens
This looks like a good all-around lens, but I am hoping for a new 16-55 2.8. The current 16-55 is a bit long in the tooth.
Thank you for your comment
Close ups at the min focus distance dont seem to look as sharp as the sigma 18-50, dealbreaker if you like macro like shots
Thank you for your comment
The Sigma is sadly not really sharp at all as soon as you leave the center...
Have you tested this lens on another fuji camera? It seems to have af and breathing issue when used with other body
Do you think that this lens is better than 16 mm 1.4 fujifilm prime lens ? Thanks
I have not tested the 16mm 1.4 but I think that at 16mm it is probably better as it is “its speciality” and it is the weakest angle of this lens. A side to side test would be ideal to know
Wonder how it compares to the Sigma option which is same focal length but I think a constant f2.8 but I may be wrong
Hello, I have not tried it so no idea, sorry,.
Sigma is 18-50 so lacks the 16-18 range
Hmmm this is not a very good lens. Go for the 18/1.4. Now we’re talking.
A zoom lens is a zoom lens, let’s compare what is comparable 🤷🏻♂️ thanks for your opinion but for me this lens is good. A specialized focal length obviously is better but how do you get to 50mm on your 18mm lens?
What's the point of this comment? 18mm will not replace 50mm as a convenient, travel worthy portrait lens, or even 16mm in a landscape context.
