Looks like a perfect match in the hammer! What size pinion did you go with in the end? Looking at same combo for mine on 3s aswell but wondering if the motor is going to hit the chassis plate with too big of a pinion.. cheers

Had checked for clearance on stock gearing but I like the speed with stock 3150 kv motor on 3s (just don't like the cogging and heating) so was looking to gear the 2500 up by 2 or 3 teeth. If needed I'll slot out the 10 tooth hole on the motor plate I guess. Would go 4s but biggest packs I can find are only 6500mah lihv packs and it's currently running 6600mah 3s which don't last very long, but also got some 9200mah 3s lihv packs on the way aswell which should be perfect
I love my hammer rey, it has become my favorite RC. Iam happy with speed and power, probably put 30 packs and zero issues. winters coming and Iam going to address the handling problems, with some steering upgrades and better servo, etc. mind as well put new motor in while I got it apart. My question is, do you feel its as fast or faster than stock going to a 2500kv? another guy I watch went up to a 4100kv from holmes hobby are you using stock gearing? , Iam a nitro guy so still learning KVs. I put a holmes 3500kv on my axial bomber and transformed it, stocking gearing and 2 cell. greetings from boyne city michigan, tom
Greetings from the high desert! I've had no major issues with mine either. I'd keep the kv under 4000. I'm using stock gearing with my max 10 g2. Check out the max 10 g2 system by hobbywing.
@@RCnurse got paddles, not much good, we get 10 feet of snow, what I need is a company to make a good rc snowmobile. its been nice lately and been hitting the dunes every evening. even broke out the old slayer pro, ran like a champ. tonight its the losi dbxl gas

It won't hit the chassis plate, I use stock pinion!

2500kv. This setup honestly is perfect for the hammer Rey! I'm also really impressed with the sensored system
