Good focused instructions. The long-form product videos are great but videos like this will help people find answers more quickly.
What a great video, I have my Racedeck flooring coming this weekend and this is exactly what I needed to see! I've been watching all your fantastic GT4 content in anticipation of my Chalk version coming in July...keep up the awesome work, love your perspective.
Well done video. Thank you! Putting mine in today.
Never been this early! Love the new format for some of the videos!
Are you going to do a video on how Mike does the stairs on your current house? I have the same situation in my garage and I have some ideas, but I'd like to see how Mike is going to do it.
Same here, I asked support how they did the Atlanta garage and they said it was a one-off custom edge. I need the same thing for some garage stairs.
Seems pretty straight forward. Just use aluminum angle iron and then fasten it with masonry screws that are countersunk into the angle iron
It will be in the next Moving vlog.
@@donnytomko I agree, but details matter and can really make a difference in an install. I'd also prefer using something rounded.
Pro tip for circular saw cutting. Cut on a piece of rigid foam insulation. It’s cheaper and better than on wood.
Good stuff Matt
Track saw would likely be more convenient than a circular saw. Makita typically rates highest without going high end (Festool, etc.) Just slap the track down and cut.
Professional video bro. Got that Matty whisper going on.
Thanks for the video! How was the walls after 2 years? Any scratch or damage as no edge used against the wall?
Hey Matt I’ll be installing Swiss trax in my garage soon (yes, I’ll order from you). Torn between slate grey and black. Do you find the slate grey gets dirty quickly? I typically wash the car in the driveway then drive it inside to dry so I can imagine wet tires might leave some black marks. I’m leaning towards all black with an all grey border. Thanks.
Nice video
I always find a jigsaw is brilliant for curved cuts and a little less daunting to use than the circular saw. Also no need for a sheet of plywood just cut off the side of a stool or work bench
There will be less blowout if you cut on plywood
Voice overlay format was cool.
I just bought this from you and installing it right now but I don't have knee pads. You must use it a lot for some reason. ;p
Measure twice, cut once 👍🏼
Thank you for the video. How does this flooring hold up with a motorcycle on a jack that's rolled around or a tire change machine on a mobile base? I'm currently working on organizing my garage and getting it looking good. Need a flooring option that will hold up the the weight of a large Harley on a jack.
It works just fine. No issues on any of the jacks I have used.

i need this in my garage
What model is the floor tile Cutter?
Can you explain the benefits/difference between having this vs a epoxy floor, I find it very difficult to install this and thinking the concrete underneath will collect a lot of water under where the epoxy is a protective clear coat. The Swiss trax looks great but I just can’t install it on my own would rather pay a place to do it but don’t know who will do that
The one thought I have, is significantly less prep. The epoxy requires you to grind the floor down, a lot of prep and potentially could not take. Where this you just drop it down and thats it.
Does anyone know if you can wheel an office chair over Ribtrax any sense? Or am I looking at the Ribtrax Smooth for a home garage/office space? Thanks
Yes, you can roll it pretty easily.
@@ObsessedGarage Thank you Matt 👍🏻
hey what's the software used at 4:12 called ?

When you moved into your Harbor Hills house, I thought I remembered the GT4, pulling in there, moved the tile, in one video. Whatever happened with that, and how do you fix it, if something like that happens?
I don't remember that. I don't think it was me.
@@ObsessedGarage ah, now I gotta go look for it. I can’t remember much in my late 40s, but I could have sworn that you steered one of the cars in, and it pinched the Swiss trax. Maybe it was someone else, now I gotta go look around.
@@g.dubyou6263 I remembered a video on another channel like that. See 2:45 of this one: ua-cam.com/video/KBnd7emraSI/v-deo.html
Hi
Here is a mean $5 for A-sharp $300 for snap on Sharpie and a $100 for Is Milwaukee Sharpie
Snap-On are the masters of merchandising.
The site says $9 per tile for RibTrax standard colors. There's no way that's correct right? A 1000 sq ft garage would be almost 6K after tax, S/H, and the tile cutter rental
They sell in a 6 pack. That may be just to get a sample tile. They are $51.50 per 6 pack or $8.58 per tile. But remember each tile is 1.7227 sq. ft. They are 15.75" x 15.75." That means they are $4.98 per sq.ft.
Whats the point of really prepping the floor if the Swisstrax is just going to sit on top and eventually get dirty?
Agreed.... like why wipe your ass after a shit, if you are going to shit again later in the day?
@@Carlos.Rivera worst analogy ever … smfh
@kenjeeper8421 Why is that a bad question? All dirt and liquids are just going to run through those tiles.
Anybody notice that when you want to buy/order something you have to give all your personal information; name, address, etc before you can find out how much the shipping costs will be. Then, even if you do not buy anything, they have all that information about you. Also, I could not find a way to contact them to ask prior to purchasing. Many conmpanies are doing this same way. Really, all you should have to do is have a place to enter your zip code and it should automatically give you the shipping cost/handling costs BEFORE you enter any other information.
Shopify doesn’t store that data.
Where does the water go when you wash a car?
Under the Swisstrax, and then to either a drain or outside of the garage.
What if you spill something ?
It's no big deal, the tiles can pop up to clean underneath.
Why would I want a floor that captures dust, dirt, spills and everything else? I then have to remove the floor to clean the damn thing. In what world is this practical?
1. Stop spilling stuff. 2. Clean dirt/dust when you want to clean it. That's the magic.
@@ObsessedGarage “Stop Spilling Stuff” have you met a human male?
The dirt disappears. So it looks clean all the time. Clean it out once or twice a year.
Yeah I doubt this is practical for where I live. I love the look and I love a clean garage but my wife’s Caddy looks like it takes a shit after every snow storm with all the salt and sand from the roads. I put epoxy down. Looks good. It does scratch a bit but this seems like the best solution for us. Apparently the epoxy guy said after a few years of the epoxy loses shine or scratched up you clean it and pour another layer and it looks new again.
Exactly. Maybe good for a museum. But if you actually work in your garage, despite best efforts to be clean the first time that pulled off radiator hose missed the bucket, you'll be pulling the floor or living with the mess.
$7 per tile!!!
$7/1.7227 sq. ft. per tile = $4.07 per sq. ft.
epoxy is still clearly better. lol
Epoxy is only for those that don't care what the floor looks like. The failure rate is extremely high.
Great, another ultra boring grey Swisstrax floor. What a surprise...
Butthurt you can't afford it bro ?
You can pick your own color.
@@RAZGR1Z Yup, and that's what everyone does, except for this guy. He does nothing but boring grey floors.
You and all the bros that like baby blue cars can all get together and do purple floors. I stick with the best color.
@@ObsessedGarage Never had a blue car in my life. Or a purple floor for that matter. Do you own anything other than grey boxer briefs? LOL, I'd bet not. Face it, you're a boring dude and nothing will ever change that.
will this tile sweat?
