cocotimbo if at this point of his career he doesn't know the basic of a jab he ain't going nowhere that's why he doesn't want to fight Ortiz that comes from the best school of boxing.
Love how Wilder stops and listens to Lewis, then just from body language he starts throwing more jabs because he knows Lewis wants to see more. Master and student personified.
+Gary Shaw nice man exactly finally not hate and something respectable come out of someones mouth. I don't get why they want to hate on a student of the game when wilder is showing respect and is trying to learn from someone he obv knows Lewis achieved more then him and he wants what Lewis did and more.
Chez Belena Yes. I think it's great when you see up and coming boxers learning and respecting the legends of the game. Great for Wilder to be so respectful and humble. Great for Lennox to actually take the time to show Wilder jab techniques in a car park lol Legend. Shows he is still humble too.

i believe this is the best jab ever, its just amazing people say Larry Holmes have the best jab but its not, this one right here in this video is the best jab
This video is History because Wilder's jab has Won him the Championship & 3 straight years of hard fights since this video, 9.10.11 round KOs because of a solid jab that kept more skilled 'boxers' at bay , but his skills & raw power are impressive these days, this video is one of many reasons he added to his arsenal to become a more complete 'boxer'
When I First Found Out About "Deontay Wilder" I Watched A Couple His Fights!!! My First Thoughts To Myself Was That He's Cool!!! But He Would Never Be Able To Beat A Heavyweight Boxer Like Lennox Lewis Who's Bigger, Stronger & Taller Than Him!!! But This Video just Showed Me That Deontay Looks Up To Lewis and he's A Humble Champion That's Willing To Learn More To Better Himself!!! "Unlike most champions" Now I see All His Tough Talk is Just For The Ring & Sales!!! I Respect Him As a Man Even More & Wish Him The Best On His Boxing Career!!!💯 "Humble Beast"
So, bigger, stronger and taller equal victory? You, obviously, don’t know boxing. Go back to publishing uncivilized, barbaric content. This, here, is out of your league.
Major Songwriter it does for the most part of you’ve been paying attention to modern heavyweight boxing. Heavyweight boxing has evolved so that the taller and heavier boxers tend to have greater success. I’ve just checked the heights of every top 10 heavyweight in the major categories and the shortest was 6’. The shortest champion was 6’4, whilst the rest were 6’6 minimum. When was the last time there was a world heavyweight champion under 6 foot?
Wilder hits harder guaranteed. He isn't refined but this guy is stronger that guy is stronger shit needs to go. Wilder fights long enough he may kill someone in the ring.
There is no one more current that WILDER can learn from than LENNOX LEWIS. HE IS A LEGENDARY CHAMP WHO TRAINED WITH THE LEGENDARY TRAINER EMMANUEL STEWART.* SO CONSIDER WHAT HE IS TEACHING YOU WILDER*
Lennox is a legend!! and that is exactly how you throw a job, the reason being, your opponent doesn't see it coming, any other movement would allow your opponent time to see it. It's a tiny adjustment but a very important one. There are quite a few good heavyweights emerging, give it a year or so and the heavyweight division wont be half bad.
Its good to see the young boy humbling himself to learn from one of the best and on the other end to see The Lion taking time to work with him. Massive respect to both. Now if you can take a punch the way Lewis could and still perform then you will most definitely lift up a green or red belt in the future.
Pretty cool. Real champions are humble. They recognize true genius. Here Wilder listens to Lewis and learns from him. The results are so clear. Longer lead faster delivery. Very good advice. Thanks Lennox.
Wilder shows he is a student of the game and doesn't act like he knows it all and will respect and learn more tips from people. So many people think that Wilder will be beat soon but as long as he doesn't think he has it all figured out and he learns new things that will not be the case. Why so much hate for Wilder when he is trying to learn? He didn't utilize the jab correctly before but now what if he does will you guys still hate?
+Chez Belena why the hate? because he's black! Next Big black fighter and they don't like it so they bash him. Everyone use to say no one is getting knock outs but he's getting them now everyone is hating because he's doing that. smh
How come everyone's all keyboard warrioring out? This is a cool video... I'm no Lewis or Wilder fanboy but it's just hella cool to see these two guys jabbing in a parking lot. Quit the whining, this is good stuff!
Totally agree my brother, these fullas drink too much haterade, the old bull passin on wisdom and knowledge to the young bull! Whats not to like about that!
I love this for multiple reasons. As a Brotha, I love to see Big Bro willing to share his wisdom. However, I especially loved it when Wilder immediately humble himself to learn from the old Master... Wilder even put his hands on his pocket! Very beautiful...
It's funny reading back on these comments.....He didn't learn a thing in the end. Its like he's been around the Kronk style with Lewis, Manny Steward, Mark Breland and still didn't pick up the style. By the time he got to Fury, he had forgotten all he was taught and what he was around. A shame really
This is when Wilder was still eager to learn and improve his craft. After he won his title in 2015, he thought he knew everything, stopped training like he used to, cut out all road work and he noticeably started to regress
Christopher David D. Lewis has an average chin he took big hits from briggs aswell as others.... the mcall and rahman ko's would have dropped any heavyweight but the very toughest.. Price on the other hand is the heavyweight version of Amir Khan.
Jason Muir Yes, but with Steward, he stopped being in range for big shots. He did the same for Wladamir. His chin was very weak, but he was taught to fight at range and it changed his career around.
I gotta say, it was really great seeing a master of his craft taking the time to show an up an coming fighter some of the things that worked for him, if nobody ever passes knowledge on, no-one will ever continue to progress. personally I got frustrated sometimes by lennox's passiveness in the ring, but this guy was a heavy chess player and if that's the way his mind works then why would you expect him to be different in his own applications? I know lennox lost 3 times but none of them were because they were better than Lewis, he caused his own losses. But, that being said.....He rectified each and every one of those losses in spectacular fashion. Lennox Lewis had one of the best jabs in heavyweight history aswell as that ridiculous uppercut, but more importantly than all that, he had an amazing boxing brain as they say. Had lennox been around a little earlier when distractions were so readily surrounding, would he have ever lost? no one will ever know, but the guy destroyed everyone that was out there, either with brute force or extreme boxing intelligence. klitschko fought the fight of his life against Lewis and from a points point of view was winning well, but near the end lennox found the range on those uppercuts and was almost landing them at will. I felt sorry for vitali, he fought honestly and bravely but his face was mangled because lennox was smashing it up and stopping the fight was the right decision because fighters don't care about their health, it's other people's job to look after them and vitali would have carried on fighting very bravely and would have ended up very very hurt. food for thought anyone...............young Tyson vs young foreman? my money would be on the most destructive, feared heavyweight EVER! GEORGE FOREMAN. (but we will never know will we ha!)
Young George would have thrown prime Tyson around like a rag doll and beaten him to an unconcious pulp. Nobody, but NOBODY could out muscle or out punch George. only a great boxing technique and brain could overcome Foremans power... Some may argue for Tysons evasive technique...but nobody can seriously say he had a brain at all, never mind a boxing brain...1. Rush forward punching hard and fast...2. If opponent is still standing, repeat number 1.
Yeah, If you want to get countered over the top with the right hand. It works in certain situations but you always have to change it up, The best way to throw the jab is to mix it up with feints and timing.
whereitallhappens he had two losses and 1 draw which he won all by rematch, Lennox is so underrated and is on of the smartest heavyweight champions in history
If Wilder would've boxed like that for his career he'd probably be undefeated. I don't know where he got his wild swinging from. Lol. Regardless. Great run he had in the heavyweight division ❤
Not a wilder fan at this moment even though he has potential, but i respect him taking a step back to learn from a veteran to step his game up in his own abilities.tells you a lot about his character that he has ambition to be better.
Deontay deserves to be champ for being humble enough to take advice from Lennox in such a grateful manner. Got huge respect for him now after watching this and hope he is the guy who flattens the brothers. Deontay is good wants to learn how to become even better - Credit to him.
no its called respect. he knows lewis has been on the top before and lewis is giving him some pointers, that's it. in a real fight today wilder would beat lennox because of age. lennox is just helping wilder out a little. when lennox first started boxing, he had no jab
+Lewis Mock yes you said it....because of age, but just after 12 rounds..and.......a 50 old wilder would lose and a 30 year old lewis would win against wilder too ;) wilder is good, no quastion..but lewis ist a exceptionally boxer.
There is really no right or wrong way to throw the jab. Everyone throws it a different way. Watch Ali, Holmes, Holyfield, etc. None of these guys throw it the same way
There still is a right way to throw a jab. As much as we respect some fighters, truth is all make errors. Ali for example made many more errors than a heavyweight champion like Joe Louis. And while people respect Ali a lot, mostly because of his back and forth battles in the ring and his actions outside the ring, truth is he wasnt as dominant as Louis because of his many fundamental boxing errors. Notice i said people in parrt respect Ali because of his many back and forth battles in the ring. Louis didn't have that problem.
"Lennox beat up wahsed up Tyson" people said! The last time I checked, they were both of the same age when they fought. Does that mean one boxer ages and the other remains prime forever? Funny comments
Sam JOLAYEMI i think age have alot to do with boxing or normal fighting because if tyson fighted against lewis before 15 to 20 years ago then im sure tyson would knock him out just like he have knocked out many many other boxers when he was young in age but tyson fighted lewis when he was old and weak thats why lewis wonn the fight
Bahdini Kurd you are absolutely right. But what i am saying is Tyson & Lewis were of the same age when they fought. It all depends on how a boxer manages himself physically and mentally....part of what defines his greatness...They are both legends in my eyes anyway...
im not sure if they were in the same age i think tyson was older then lewis but anyway what im trying to say is that if tyson were fighting lewis from year 1986 to 1996 or 1997 then im sure tyson would knock lewis out but they fighted in year 2002 when tyson was old and fat thats why he lost
that dosnt have anything to say because they didnt fight in 1990 or 1996 when tyson was at his best and im sure if they did fight at that time tyson would knock him out for sure
It's interesting that 'Lennox' is only showing what 'Bruce Lee' would have shown to a student. Constant forwards energy, throw from where your hand is, steal ground by extending your lead elbow away from your ribs (non-collapsed structure) and hand before feet (non-telegraphic movement). R.I.P. Sijo Lee, long live Mr Lewis. :-).
So wilder and his entourage tracked down where lenox lives and was like yo dude teach me how to throw a proper jab even tho ive been a pro for years now. -_-
Lewis throws some jabs and Wilder asks "so what are we doing?!?" 0:04.... Lewis answers: "throwing the jab!"....LOL.....Wilder is not very familiar with jabs....just kidding ;))
Gary Shaw some people think that Fury is better because he beat Wladimir but they dont see that Fury beat an old Wladimir. We will see in Fury's next fights against other opponents how good he really is.
+Gary Shaw right, but he definitely affects others with his own problems. We don't have to tolerate all nutcases out there. I 'm a humanist as well but I excersise it firstly to myself, just like you can't donate your heart while alive.
good teaching. the trick is do not pull it back of show any signal. feint 4 times every second, use every angle until you find which one works. quite easy if you have the ability
Wilder literally is a deer in headlights right here. He didnt have clue what Lewis was trying to teach him. Let's be honest, this is some basic shit he's trying to teach right here. And looking at this, his present lack of boxing IQ comes as no surprise.
Yeah he did its on UA-cam.. And he did say something bit racist but seen no evidence of his daughter being threatened.. Bottom line is this other dude mentally not well no excuses... As a pro he should be able to carry himself better not beat up a small no well person.
u kidding me???he cant fight for shit but he fighting a heavy weight pro that boy is crazy mate .. that fight never should of happened, get that charley z dude evaluated i bet theres issues. people need to stop beating up on him.... where im from the people se that shit jump right in its ovious he is not well....
If you talking about charlie zelenof you crazy bro. You make it sound like he beat up a random disabled person. Charlie is a so called boxer and he challenged Deontay to a boxing match and that is what he got. He goes around assaulting people.
I always watch something very special about Lewis, when he is about to fight, just look the way he would look at his opponent, he looked calm but dangerous fighter, while he unleash punches upon punches on the opponent.
To everyone hating on Lewis, please stfu. I hated Lewis because of the way he fought, but BY FAR outside of Ali he is the best jab puncher that has ever been. If you do not believe it just watch his fights. Lewis knows 100 times more than DW and unlike DW he wasn't paying people to take dives.
Imagine looking out your window at 2am to see Lennox Lewis giving wilder boxing lessons in ur car park
😅
🤣🤣🤣 That would be wild.
Imagine walking out of your aprtment in a pijamas and telling Lennox that not how you do the jab😂

Such a simple little thing as slightly adjusting the distance of your left closer to your opponent massively improves the jab. Incredible.

Because there is a time and place for everything. A hotel parking lot in the middle of the night is neither the time nor place.
+MrTONIUX . Lewis was showing who's boss. My time, my place.
Lewis the best ever and ever ❤
Got a private lesson from the man himself. Awesome.
Dude when i watched this 2016 i didnt even know that the guy was deontay wilder i realised it now
Lewis is the Boss....he shows it again :) nice vid
no its called respect. he knows lewis has been on the top before and lewis is giving him some pointers, that's it. in a real fight today wilder would beat lennox because of age. lennox is just helping wilder out a little. when lennox first started boxing, he had no jab
+Lewis Mock yes you said it....because of age, but just after 12 rounds..and.......a 50 old wilder would lose and a 30 year old lewis would win against wilder too ;) wilder is good, no quastion..but lewis ist a exceptionally boxer.
Result of determination... he is the world champion now.
There is really no right or wrong way to throw the jab. Everyone throws it a different way. Watch Ali, Holmes, Holyfield, etc. None of these guys throw it the same way
qwe qwen Larry Holmes sorta adapted his from Ali's but I get your point
Battle Rifle because Holmes was a student of Ali
Fair Human aren't we all?
No one's mechanics look the same but there is a way to properly throw a jab once you master simple techniques you add you own swagger to it
There still is a right way to throw a jab.
Imagine if Emmanuel Stewart was training Wilder? Then he'd not just have power but also excellent technique. Dude was a formidable trainer.
Lennox Lewis is the greatest heavyweight ever lived. He beat all the greats of his era, young and old. He defeated both men he lost to. Class act!
Bahdini Kurd
Mike Tyson: June 30, 1966 (age 49)
Lennox Lewis: September 2, 1965 (age 49) in fact lewis is almost a year older.
that dosnt have anything to say because they didnt fight in 1990 or 1996 when tyson was at his best and im sure if they did fight at that time tyson would knock him out for sure
two gents of boxing ,big respect for both
It's interesting that 'Lennox' is only showing what 'Bruce Lee' would have shown to a student. Constant forwards energy, throw from where your hand is, steal ground by extending your lead elbow away from your ribs (non-collapsed structure) and hand before feet (non-telegraphic movement).
R.I.P. Sijo Lee, long live Mr Lewis. :-).
this open my eyes to wilder. nice guy not letting his ego get in the way like most people would
0:11 I wonder how he did manage to get Lewis out of his humble game.
Everytime this video is suggested, it makes me think a fight is gonna happen. Lewis looks like a bad ass here lol
Wilder's last fight proves that his jab is getting less telegraphed...great tips from Lewis..respect
So wilder and his entourage tracked down where lenox lives and was like yo dude teach me how to throw a proper jab even tho ive been a pro for years now. -_-
ha ha, good comment.......anyway Wilder will become champ, he can box and punch.
tim nic edit* he can punch...... box? No
Brennan Jarvis oh yes he can-
Just because someone has been a pro for years it doesn't mean that they can't learn
Lol Hater
Lewis true champ
Pretty cool seeing this side of Wilder. You can definitely see he's eager to learn of an absolute legend like Lennox Lewis.
Lennox - "Predator"
but he is not that ugly...;))
Михаил Скобелев klitschko kicked his ass haha
Bahdini Kurd
he lost by TKO
who
Bahdini Kurd
Vitali lost by TKO
Lennox is thinking "goddamn, why couldn't this guy have been around for me to outbox in my day..."
Lewis on his best day beats any boxer in history.
Lenox is one of the GOATS 🐐
Larry Holmes deserved to be invited to this party.
Epic stuff from lennox the technical master
Lewis throws some jabs and Wilder asks "so what are we doing?!?" 0:04.... Lewis answers: "throwing the jab!"....LOL.....Wilder is not very familiar with jabs....just kidding ;))
*****
....we will see but I cant see that Fury is better than Wilder....Fury has also holes in his game.
+tim nic they are just holes in the game haha
+tim nic Think Fury has better arsenal at his disposal right now. But Wilder has that equaliser of a powerful punch.
Gary Shaw some
people think that Fury is better because he beat Wladimir but they dont see that Fury beat an old Wladimir. We will see in Fury's next fights against other opponents how good he really is.
tim nic Yes. I agree with that. Well, depends who he fights after Klit.
This is great Footage... Lewis is the best
kazda lekcja od wielkiego mistrza przyniesie kiedys efekty!!!
Lennox would make an incredible coach… seen a few vids of him giving advice to other boxers. Has perfect temperament too
Not a fan of either...but that was cool as shit.
Hard to doubt the guy with the best jab in HW history.
Lewis is much better than wilder, he moves better, for now he is too slowly and heavy as he stopped to train, it is obvious
+jon willard that white dude threatened to kidnap wilders daughter and tape her mouth up etc. Fair play to Wilder.
***** He is a human being. Obviously he didn't like it, hence him fighting him. The white guy actually wanted to fight him. He got what he wanted.
+Gary Shaw but ofc. Some people just don't learn until they meet with the hard way.
+Gary Shaw right, but he definitely affects others with his own problems. We don't have to tolerate all nutcases out there. I 'm a humanist as well but I excersise it firstly to myself, just like you can't donate your heart while alive.
+jon willard
You're just an insecure little black boy
good teaching. the trick is do not pull it back of show any signal. feint 4 times every second, use every angle until you find which one works. quite easy if you have the ability
Is this a shit shirt competition?
haha!
The first thing my trainer ever taught me .. The shorter the punch, the faster it gets there. That's exactly what Lennox was showing him.
Wilder literally is a deer in headlights right here. He didnt have clue what Lewis was trying to teach him. Let's be honest, this is some basic shit he's trying to teach right here. And looking at this, his present lack of boxing IQ comes as no surprise.
Just before the Charlie Zelenoff fight. Hard work paid off that night.
wilder beat up a small dude with mental health issues he shouldnt be allowed to fight pro
Yeah he did its on UA-cam.. And he did say something bit racist but seen no evidence of his daughter being threatened.. Bottom line is this other dude mentally not well no excuses... As a pro he should be able to carry himself better not beat up a small no well person.
jail wont help him he needs hospital...
u kidding me???he cant fight for shit but he fighting a heavy weight pro that boy is crazy mate ..
that fight never should of happened, get that charley z dude evaluated i bet theres issues. people need to stop beating up on him.... where im from the people se that shit jump right in its ovious he is not well....
agreed
If you talking about charlie zelenof you crazy bro. You make it sound like he beat up a random disabled person. Charlie is a so called boxer and he challenged Deontay to a boxing match and that is what he got. He goes around assaulting people.
Wilder is a really good learner, That's why he is where he is now.
My coach says Larry Homes but I like Lewis, also seems down to earth...
Thats it! He is not only a great puncher, he is smart and has the discipline a champ needs.
