Thank you so much for supporting my channel 💛
Thank you for creating this content. I've been hoping for a regular poster of extending card art. Very relaxing to watch. Thank you!!
That makes me so happy to hear! I wasn’t sure if others would find these videos helpful or relaxing to watch 🥰 thank you!
Dang, how could i miss this video?
I paint with a wet palette, too. i tried it after altering for 15 months without. A wet palette is such a gamechanger, since it becomes much easier to bring down thinner layers. After a bit of practicing with it, the quality of my alters raised drastically. I do recomment it. :)
It is definitely a game changer! Especially with fluid acrylics that dry sooo fast. I wish I started using it sooner!
awesome as always.
Thank you so much!
Love this video! I've painted miniatures (warhammer40k) in the past so I've been a stout advocate of DIY wet palettes for years in order to conserve pricey paint during long painting sessions haha. Recently started trying my hand at alters and decided I liked it enough to step it up and buy some nice fluid acrylic paint, which has beautiful quality but I'm now struggling to colour match rip! I love to see your longer form videos (and seeing the palette while you paint is also nice to see how you match for specific colours and such). It would be great to see more long-form videos and more talk-overs on how to work with fluid acrylic!
Thank you so much! There are a lot of similarities painting miniatures and alters. I love the idea of showing more of the color mixing process! I wasn’t sure if a longer video would be boring. I have another video I will be posting this week which is also shorter, but next time I’m painting a card for UA-cam I will see about showing more of the process ☺️
@@pokefairyrose Ooh thanks! A few other channels I watch for alters have 10-30 minute videos with a fair amount of real time parts and a bit of sped up which is pretty enjoyable, and means that people can skip through to see techniques for certain parts of the alter that they are looking to emulate which is nice. You deserve so many more subscribers though! you have such great alters!!
For people who want to try a wet palate but don’t want to buy one, you can easily replicate it with things you have at hand! Take a plate, add some paper towels and make those a bit wet, and just add a piece of baking paper on top! It probably won’t work as well as the one shown in the video, but it’s a cheap way to try it out.
Great tip! Thanks for sharing
I love your videos! Could you hold the camera up to the card more at the end. I’m trying bask in its beauty lol
Thank you so much! And yesss!!! 🙌
How long have you been painting? Did you start on magic cards or more traditional methods?
Magic cards for a little over 2 years. Before that I would paint with watercolors, but didn’t really work with acrylics until altering!
Hi, awesome video! I'm just starting to try alters myself, but I don't hsve a background in painting, so I was wondering if you water the paint down or keep the brush very moist before applying or whether it's more of a dry brush thing? Also do you let each layer dry fully before applying the next? I'm guessing no but I can't really tell. Sorry if those are very basic!
Hello! Yes I do water down my paints just a bit (my brush is damp), in this case I was using a wet pallete so my palette itself was already had a sponge with some water. I definitely let the base layers completely dry. Thanks for the great questions!
@@pokefairyrose thanks for responding! That’s really helpful, look forward to more videos!
Love the card! Which brushes did you use in this video?
Thank you! I’m not sure what brands (most of these are nothing special), but typically I am using a filbert brush and small round brush for acrylic paints.
Hi, Do you think its possible to use watercolors to paint a magic card? Nice video
I think watercolor would need a more absorbent surface, and would have really poor coverage, though I have never tried it! I would use acrylic paints, which are also water soluble and can be watered down some if needed.
@@pokefairyrose I thought so, but I was curious to ask. Thanks for replying so quickly :)
