    The first track race I every won was a 400m in 4th grade i ran a 1:15, I got down to 54s in my early 20's and now in my early 40's I'm working to get under 60s I love and hate the 400m equally and hope to be able to keep running it for the rest of my life.

      My first ever race was a 400 in 6th grade, don't know the time but was last place by a lot, stopped and walked at one point. High school I ran 2-mile in 10:00 but 440 in 57.6. Age 44 ran 400 in 55.9 and 800 in 2:05. Now I am 63 and would be super happy to run 65 when I turn 65. We'll see...running hard is definitely love/hate.

      @Nasim Biir, Sprinter due to the fact anyone can train to gain endurance and not everybody is born able to sprint

    • @masonmiller9907
      @masonmiller9907 4 роки тому +75

      Concon Gaming doesn’t that mean it’s easier, because you’re either born with the speed or not. you can’t say jump from a 12 second 100m to a 10 second 100m without the genetic speed already being there.. while in say a mile to 3 mile you have to build up endurance rather than natural speed you’re born with. A sprinter can run a 400m faster by 6 seconds say a 44-45 and a distance runner runs 50 or as in nicks case 48 only 4 seconds slower, if they continued on the sprinter gets slower and slower each lap where the distance runner slows by a minimal amount because the sprinter is relying on pure talent/genetics. I’ve never heard of a sprinter doing 10 mile tempo runs, maybe a couple 400s max and some plyometrics/ practicing how to get out of blocks. Just my opinion as a middle distance runner. 400 was fun 800 was pain, mile was also pain, 2 mile I’m bored lol that’s just me though.

    • @concongaming
      @concongaming 4 роки тому +18

This motivated me to train super hard everyday and I watch multiple videos on how to properly set up a good running schedule and I went from running a 64 to 56 seconds In just 4 months which was super hard and if your reading this and you want to get better just keep training. I did the math to calculate how fast you're going, and that was an average 17.21 MPH. That's very fast. How fast do you think you can run at one time? I've been waiting you at the U of O, so I can beat you in a race, but I don't know if there's a way that I can know in advance.

    36? Wait til you get to 62 (like someone very close to me). Haha.
    I want to get into decent enough shape to run an all out mile and see what I can do. I'd be ecstatic to go sub six. Now if only my Achilles would cooperate. Hahaha.
