    Courtney has a voice that is a musical instrument on its own. The lyrics are important but it is her voice that carries the song.

    She has pleasantly surprised me, I did not expect this from that super shy girl who left us amazed when she was not yet 14. So much feeling, so much sadness cannot be improvised, I bet all my chips that someone has hurt her a lot. Luckily for her and the music, her contract with Cowell is now history.

    I love the way this is filmed - she's out in the world alone and even seems a bit lost. She portrayed her pain and emotion very well. We don't know if she lost someone, or if it was a break-up, or even a little out there - she's the one that is dead?

    Hi Britt.. I think this incredible song and performance gets to everyone who hears it.. The song itself is so raw and powerful and Courtney sings with so much passion that this goes straight to the heart. Then you add the intensity of this incredible video on top of it. If you don't feel the pain and anguish this song and video conveys, then you don't have a pulse. I don't know how many times I've listened and watched this so far, but even when I know what's coming, it doesn't get any easier. What Courtney can do both vocally and visually never ceases to amaze. BTW, I thought the ending with the phone ringing and Courtney answering was brilliant. It's left an open question as to who's on the other end, but it ends a song full of pain and angst with a feeling of hope for everyone that has just gone on this heavy emotional ride with Courtney . 🔥🔥🔥🔥

    I love how she can draw the emotion out in the music, not many vocalists can do that these days. The message of the song is also quite universal, yet personal to each listener. Like I said, she can draw emotion, I can only name a handful, but Courtney is the Queen.

    Britt, I don't know why this showed up late on my UA-cam, so you may not see my reply. But I think you said something that exemplifies why Courtney is destined to be a superstar: "RockPop". What Courtney brings is the passion, drama and rhythm of great rock music in the past while fusing enough contemporary pop feel to relate to the current musical scene. RockPop encapsulates her new genre! Her next new song will be a banger!

    Britt, thanks for putting the time and attention into reacting to Courtney, and especially to this song and this video presentation of it. LOSS...most likely permanent (life/death)....yet can also be interpreted as other kinds of lost relationships too. This young lady can call your heart out and make you feel the emotions. She's so vocally versatile, imo. Love the phone at end, too. Might have just been 'the world' intruding on her grief, too. Left us in the air, as is her job as a great songwriter. Courtz ROCKS, even when she's not rock-n-rolling. A vocalist, and proving it as she sets up to blow us away. This is 3rd. As the old saying goes, '1 for the money, 2 for the show, 3 to get ready, and...'! Will 4th be #monsters or #danceparty or, finally, that Choo Choo Train, or something she hasn't yet leaked snippets of to her fans? Or maybe it's finally time to bring out that hard, painful, #lessismore telling the story of those body-shaming her and trying to change her? Whichever, it'll be worth the wait. Rock Queen. Music Queen. Soul Queen. GenZ change agent. Courtz! [yeah, yeah, yet another old yet rabid fan]

    • @givingin2G4Courtz

      The song she sang in the AGT audition was Otis Redding's 'Hard To Handle' which was released posthumosly after he and his band died when their twin engine aircraft crashed heading from one gig to their next. Details on Wikipedia. When Howie Mandell talked about Janice Joplin, he was commenting about Courtney's voice and style of singing and performing with her whole body, very similar in style to how Janice moved to the music.
      NOTICE that this young lady, while still a tween OR EARLIER had been spending a lot of time studying UA-cam videos of all the great artists who helped form the roots of modern music....the same artists that later greats, like Mick Jagger, the Beatles, and many others learned from. NO WONDER she performs like an amalgam of all those great rock stars, blues legends, and R&B pioneers.
      One of the most influential artists whom she's commented was responsible for her deciding, while still a young child, that she was going to be a singer-songwriter was, of course, Tina Turner. Probably why we got 'Nutbush City Limits' as Courtney's choice for what to sing/perform for The Voice Kids UK blind audition in 2017 WHEN SHE WAS JUST 12 YEARS OLD. Nailed it. I've often wondered if Tina ever saw this young lady doing her best at that young age to live up to her legend.

      Welcome to The Wonderful World Of Courtney Hadwin! This is only her third release of an original song, third concept video, and third as an independent artist, which she just became this year. Here's the other two: Courtney Hadwin - Breakable (Official Video) ua-cam.com/video/DOjyS5w1Ono/v-deo.html
      Courtney Hadwin - That Girl Don't Live Here (Official Music Video) ua-cam.com/video/RyILP4DPPTo/v-deo.html
      Before that, there's a treasure trove of incredible cover versions on UA-cam, going back more than 8 years when she was 11 years old, but what she's done this year is a good place to start too.
      But if you somehow bump into her America's Got Talent and Voice Kids UK videos along the way, don't forget to buckle in, but enjoy the ride😃

      NOTE that there is also ONE MORE ORIGINAL song, the first Courtney performed on TV, when she was invited back in 2019 for AGT: The Champions: "Pretty Little Thing". ua-cam.com/video/LNjy7O9QXo8/v-deo.html I believe that performance was 'SHOW-READY". Courtney was, iirc, already signed by that time, and was preparing to debut on the BIG stage as the youngest performer at Woodstock 50 anniversary festival, before it imploded on everyone and cancelled the festival. While there are other instances of her performing before audiences, especially with The Struts, personally I find this performance the best filmed performance we've got yet. I simply cannot wait until Courtz is overfilling stadiums and touring the big venues (you know, the ones all owned and controlled by the very few international companies throttling live music throughout most of the industrialized world. But that's going to take some serious fan numbers, view counts, and streaming download/purchase numbers, as an indie artist, to follow a path like Billie Eilish and Finneas. Consumer pressure drives acceptance when labels aren't there to grease the ways. So spread the word. Courtz rocks!

    From what I know about Courtney Hadwin, this song doesn’t do it for me. It seems very AGT-produced, with its even-tempo piano and it’s embellishment of emotion. I don’t mean to be insincere, but I feel this is very much forced to fit in a previously successful box, whereas Ms. Hadwin’s charm is entirely that she does NOT fit in a mold.

    • @bertpainter8385
      @bertpainter8385 Рік тому +6

      That's just it. This is Courtney. A part of her. If you watched her prior to AGT and The Voice Kids UK, Courtney didn't rock out yet. But she was extremely passionate when she sang, especially ballads, even as a 9 year old. Courtney, like all great musicians, goes through different experiences musically and latches on to learn what she likes and continue on to whatever floats her boat. The fact that she got world wide recognition on AGT performing old school rock songs, is what put her in a box in many fans minds. But she was never in that box. The fans who want her to stick with rock song are the ones who put her in that box. Courtney doesn't fit in anyone's mold except her own. And that is why her people really love her. She will release more rock songs. We know that because she's let us hear clips of them already. And believe me they are exactly what we expect when she rocks out. No one today is quite that way. Anyway, most artist from what I know won't release every song like the way people expect. And she could never keep up that pace in concert is she was all rock. The way she performs on stage she wouldn't make it past 30. A ballad here and there is just what she needs. Look further and you'll find she's still an insane rock queen. AGT took down her video not long after she announced going independent. That video had well over 53 million or more views for them. AGT has nothing to do with this song. They promised her the world and nothing came of it. So now she's doing it her way. She'll bring the rockers back with her next rock song.

    • @scottNNJ

      @@bertpainter8385 Thank you for correcting me. I’m sure her capabilities go beyond the Janis Joplin style but I didn’t know she was pursing those other styles. If she broke free from AGT’s management (Also something I didn’t know) that is probably for the best for her. I appreciate the long and detailed explanation.

    • @bertpainter8385
      @bertpainter8385 Рік тому +7

      @@scottNNJ NP, most who followed that season with Courtney on AGT will always know and love her as the next huge rock legend. Tbh, if a few things didn't happen after AGT like Woodstock's 50th anniversary getting canceled and then Covid shutting down the world, she may very well have been just that. So many things got in her way. One of which was Simon and Sony Music restructured the deal in 2020 between them, which was Simon bought all rights to All Got Talent shows around the world and Sony got all of Simons signed Artists. Courtney was one of those artists. We never found out what happened to Courtney's contract that Simon sold to Sony Music. But the guess is she was either released or Sony made promises and never came through for her. Long story made short, but from what was said in the years after that deal, I think she was still under the impression that somehow her own music will be released through them. And if you didn't follow her after AGT she made some unbelievable recordings along the way. Here's one everyone loves.
      "Love Hurts" (Not the one from Nazareth). ua-cam.com/video/bqZjDRXyxOo/v-deo.html Probable one of her finest ever and she did it in one take. She let people hear it during Covid in one of her lives chats on Instagram. Audio is a bit thin due to it coming out of her laptop files into her cell phone. But it don't matter, still sensational. If people continued to follow her after AGT there was a lot of great songs let fans her and a few she released. Like everyone, her story is complicated, but should be explained for those who thought a lot of her, but never knew what really happened. I'm just one of many fans who try to let other know.
