Hi Lucie. Great reaction. There is no other voice in music like Courtney's. You hear one note and you know it's her. Not only is she completely unique, but she has one of the most beautiful and versatile voices in all of music. Hard to believe that the same person who is singing this gorgeous ballad is the same person that most of the world knows most as this incredible stage dominating rocker. That's another thing that makes Courtney so special as an artist. She can sing just about anything, from Rock to Ballads and R&B, Funk, Soul and many others in between and there is never any drop off to the incredible quality of her music. Can't forget to add what a powerhouse she is as a songwriter as well.
I think this incredible song and performance gets to everyone who hears it. The song itself is so raw and powerful and Courtney sings with so much passion that this goes straight to the heart. Then you add the intensity of this incredible video on top of it. If you don't feel the pain and anguish this song and video conveys, then you don't have a pulse. I don't know how many times I've listened and watched this so far, but even when I know what's coming, it doesn't get any easier. What Courtney can do both vocally and visually never ceases to amaze. BTW, I thought the ending with the phone ringing and Courtney answering was brilliant. It's left an open question as to who's on the other end, but it ends a song full of pain and angst with a feeling of hope for everyone that has just gone on this heavy emotional ride with Courtney . 🔥🔥🔥🔥
There are two more Courtney originals you have yet to react to, The first is a sensational uptempo jazzy number with a touch of 1940s Swing called 'That Girl Don't Live Here' and the second is a stage dominating rocky number called 'Pretty Little Thing', where she bring the house down. This second one is the perfect vehicle to see what Courtney can do on a full stage, because you haven't seen that side of her yet. The AGT audition you reacted to really was limited in terms of space. Not so here. Links are below:.
Keep an eye out for her upcoming original called 'Monster' dropping on Sep 29. Rock Courtney is back in full force here. You won't want to miss it. Not sure if the official video will be dropping on the same day or not.

Totally agree, Clint. That snippet of 'Monsters' Ms. Courtney released on YT 'Shorts' tab on her channel was absolute FIRE....it's a MONSTER of a hit, I'm sure. Love every very different song she's released this year, so many styles, so much soul, usually with that incredible grit in there somewhere, her lovely falsetto, these haunting tones in Call Me Back that just rip your heart right out of your chest as she shares her sorrow and wanting. Rocks even when she's not rocking out!

Thanks, Lucie--enjoy your reactions to Courtney, who indeed has the most unique, recognizable voice. She is slowly but inexorably climbing toward stardom at 19. You have reacted to her 2 ballads co-written with Kevin Bowe. Have you reacted to That Girl Don't Live Here? That one and a new one, Monsters, planned for a September 29 release, are upbeat rockers that give a taste of her stage-owning performance style. Hope you do those!

Hello! Good reaction. Exactly she hardly needs any instruments because her voice is an instrument. Her pitch is perfect. As you say, you can immediately hear it's her singing. There are few singers that you can hear, it's them. This is because most of them are stuck in the music world box. Courtney doesn't want to be in that box. We thank her for that.
From what I understand, the video was recorded in Scotland UK.

This song is a real punch to the gut, but in a good, cathartic way. The way she can deliver raw emotion through lyric and melody is spectacular. Hardly anyone else these days can do it justice. Most songs within the last five or so years, seconds after hearing it, I have no idea what it was about. The lyrics are forgettable, the tune,... gone. But not so for Courtney. Every single song she sings or covers is a true Earworm. She's covered about 90s songs in her early career, and most of them I can still remember. Each of her original songs, that she has released, so far (Breakable, That Girl Don't Live Here, Call Me Back), and her early song she did for AGT :Champions, Pretty Little Thing, are all unique and diverse, het distinctly her voice.
I know you haven't done a reaction to Pretty Little Thing and That Girl Don't Live Here. You should, they are quite different to Breakable and Call Me Back,... I think you could enjoy them. I'm not going to spoil your review to them.
Sorry about the tangent, back to this song. There are many theories as to the message of the song. It could be about a nasty break up, the death of a loved one, she could be a ghost trying to contact the living, someone could have been kidnapped, gone missing, imprisoned, held for ransom... someone could have been lost in the bush, the wilderness, out at sea...etc. There are so many ways that this song could be interpreted. Every listener can take from it whatever they need. That is what os so amazing about her delivery, it is so universal, yet so personal to each viewer.
I really hope that her career takes off, and she wins all the awards she deserves. She could truly be the next biggest star in the industry, if only she is given the chance to prove it.

She always sings with such emotion. Is this her real experience or does she just get into the song that much.
